I ate there for lunch with a large group of friends. Most of us got the special which was a personal pizza and a half salad. It was nice you could pick whichever salad you wanted and whichever two items on your pizza you wanted as well. The pizza is a cracker type crust so it's very thin, the sauce was tasty and the toppings were average. The salad was quite wealthy and we waited quite a long time for only having two tables in the entire restaurant, and there seem to be only one person out front taking orders. I don't mean this in a rude way but the servers breath was absolutely horrible! He was very nice but it was a very foul smell. The salad was a bit Willtee, and nothing special at all. The food is fantastic. This is a new location on Swan. The menu has a good variety of options, but my favorite is the Goodfellas pizza. But be sure to try the Chicken Parmesian, or Salmon, too. Wings are top notch, and their Brie appetizer is fantastic, too. The servers are great. Everyone is so friendly, they make us feel welcome. Went on a Sunday afternoon and took a while to be seated. They seemed short on workers which is fine, but we had to wait a while for our food while most of the other tables remained dirty through our meal. As another reviewer stated, this place really smells like dirty bleach and it didn't get better through the meal. Was also concerned by seeing random people and children who didn't work there walk in and out of the kitchen. Honestly great food in a great space. Just walking in the door, your nose is pleasantly hit with wonderful Italian spices. My mouth started watering before we were even seated. The decor is simple, and it works. The owner is heavily involved and busy in the restaurant - you can definitely see pride of ownership, which is just awesome! We sat in a two-person booth, and we were able to see the bar and the rest of the restaurant. This place is busy, and that is a testament to the food quality. We were greeted quickly, and asked for drink orders - not quite ready for those, as there were lots of choices. We were brought water while we made our decisions. My husband ordered an Obsidian Nitro Stout, and I ordered a glass of zin. My only reason for subtracting a star is the wine - pretty pricey and served cold. After the wine warmed up, it was decent. Now the food stuff - we ordered a calzone and the spaghetti and meatballs - we said we were going to split them, and the very kind server asked us if we wanted the calzone a split as well - great offering, and perfect! The food is so darn good!!! The meatballs are moist and flavorful, and the sauce was well-seasoned perfection! The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The calzone has a wonderful ricotta, and it wasn't overloaded. The crust was just crazy crispy goodness, and it was accompanied by that wonderful marinara. The ambiance is great! 80s music that wasn't too load. Large tv's that can be viewed from every seat. Oh, and there is a patio! That patio overlooks the beautiful Catalina mountains. Truth! I had the salmon it was so delicious my hubby had the portabello ravioli, he was not disappointed! BZ's has been my neighborhood pizza, and much more, place for many years. They are in their third location, closer to my house than the second. Chef/owner Brian Sorrel has quite an extensive culinary resume, and calling his establishment a pizza joint would be an understatement. Everything here is fresh, made to order, and excels in every aspect. The salads are absolutely terrific, along with the homemade dressings, pizzas are a nice thin crust with generous toppings, but my favorite dish here is the Roasted Garlic and Brie en Croute appetizer. No need to dig or squeeze the garlic out of the skin, because the cloves are served whole, which is so convenient to spread onto the baguette. It is accompanied with a mixture of sautéed spinach, artichokes, mushrooms, roasted red peppers and onions. Along side are fresh grapes and strawberries for a perfect sweetness in between bites. Great for sharing or a perfect meal for one. Don't skip this dish on your next visit. read more

I have never written a review about any restaurant, but an experience last evening prompted me to do so. We were a party of four adults with a reservation for 7PM. We were promptly seated, our waiter took our orders -salads and entrees- nearly immediately, and delivered water to our table. And then everything came to a screeching halt. Our waiter informed us that the kitchen was "overwhelmed" by the number of guests and so service was a bit slow getting our dinners onto the table. He offered a free glass of wine for which we were grateful. We saw our waiter from time to time as he updated us on the progress of our orders which was nil, but never thought to at least bring us our salads or even some bread or bar food. Finally, at a few minutes to NINE PM our orders arrived. When we asked our waiter what the problem was, he said the kitchen staff seemed not to be compelled to work at a reasonable pace, thus the nearly 2 hour delay before we got to eat. Two of us had been to BZ's before and had good service and good food. This particular night, our entrees were barely mediocre, bland, and one entre did not look or taste at all like the same one ordered in our previous visit here. As a consideration, our waiter said our bill would have a 15% deduction. We were stunned that this was the best that would be offered. We decided that we will not be returning to BZ's, will pass on our experience to others who might think to eat there. Lastly, I would caution others to not eat there on weekends as another worker (not our waiter) said that long waits for one's food is not unusual on weekend nights. read more

Ok WHOA. This is seriously some of the best Italian food I've ever had. My husband & I were visiting Tucson from LA and had dinner with friends the other night. Julie is the best server EVER! And we even got to meet Andy, the chef, who was so cool and sweet to us. When I asked him what the hell he did to make the salmon taste THAT good, he told me, "butter and love" We shared a caprese salad, salmon with risotto, and because we just couldn't get enough, we ordered a small pizza with mushrooms & basil. The crust was crisped to perfection, and all of the ingredients were fresh and clean. We will be back at BZ's every time we're back in Tucson! On Sunday I ordered a pizza and garlic knots for pick up. When I got home I discovered my pizza was burned. I called the restaurant immediately and requested a refund. I was told a manager would not be available until Tuesday and I would have to wait until then to have the issue addressed. Today is Thursday and no one has reached out. In addition to the overcooked pizza and poor customer service they did not include the two sides of ranch I ordered and their garlic knots were bland and greasy. Wow. Why have we never come here? We stumbled upon this place as we were trying to find a spot outside of the usuals but close to home. It so DID NOT disappoint! Food was excellent, wine selection was good, ambiance was casual and clean, the view is the one I believe every restaurant in Tucson should be after. But let's go back to their food. We had caprese salad with the most special balsamic dressing (to die for) the spaghetti & meatballs (half portion) has so much flavor and even at the smaller size, portion was a lot (IMHO) perfectly cooked meatballs and the 2 "sliders" allows you to try 2 pizzas in one order. I love being able to have more options in one order and we chose pepperoni and garlic on one pizza and sausage and onion on the other. The dough was perfect- not to thin and not to thick. The flavor was packed full of goodness. Quality. This is the best way to describe every bit of our experience. This place was amazing! We got to meet the owner (who personally waited on us) and his brother (who is the chef), and they were both extremely friendly. We ordered the jalapeño poppers and Brie appetizers. The poppers were ridiculous! They were wrapped in bacon and stuffed with some creamy cheese. By far, the best Poppers I've ever had. We also ordered a pepperoni pizza and the linguine dish. Both were amazingly good. I normally don't go for pepperoni pizza, but I couldn't get enough of it. The linguine was also really good. It's sauce was very flavorful and slightly sweet from the red wine. This has got to be my new favorite place to eat. read more

BZ's is awesome!! The atmosphere is like a sports bar, but with an Italian twist. I took my girlfriend for her birthday and it didn't disappoint. She ordered the eggplant parmigiana sandwich and I had the BZ's Dip. You can definitely taste the fresh ingredients. The owners welcomed us and checked to make sure everything was great. I have ordered pizzas to go in the past and they were delicious. You can definitely tell that BZ's takes care of business!! The owners are a bunch of self-entitled idiots thinking they have a dynasty. They are rude, unaccommodating, unprofessional and have no idea how to treat thier customers AND thier staff. The staff HATES working for them(I talked to most of them), unfortunately they need thier job. We have gone in as many as 6-7 times watching UA football/basketball games. Almost everytime there has been some sort of run in with one of the owners. I have been in and out of the food and beverage industry as a manager and and owner...
