CHRIS the owner at BuzzTech is beyond horrible not only does he have an attitude on him but be will rip you off as well. I payed almost 350$ to get my my mixer back after him holding onto it for months when I had payed in advance for my mixer to be prioritized.. just for him to tell me he still couldn't fix my main issue on the board, which was the right jog wheel didn't want to beat match. He told me he charged me that much because he had to open up the board a bunch of times.. but that is your job?? How else are you suppose to get into the jog sensors??? I was shocked honestly. I would NOT recommend this place to any phoenix Dj's or honestly musicians either. His place looks like he has the stuff when in reality he'll just hold onto it for weeks and tell about an easy fix and then charge you 200$+. The guy is a fool. The owner performed work on my amp without my consent or approval and was repeatedly dishonest throughout the process. I initially brought it in just for a quote, which took 68 days to receive -- and even then, it wasn't a quote because he had already gone ahead and completed the work without notifying me. I was then stuck with a bill for nearly $900. When I expressed my frustration, he argued that he could remove the repairs for an additional $50. At that point, I declined -- I can't trust a business that has already shown such a lack of integrity. If he was willing to move forward with unauthorized repairs, I wouldn't be surprised if parts were swapped or removed out of spite. This was a deeply disappointing and unethical experience. The owner was quick to anger and unwilling to find a reasonable solution, which is not how any business should be run. On a positive note, the receptionist was understanding and professional, and I truly hope she finds a more respectable company that values its employees. read more

I first went to Buzz Tech to check out some pianos that Chris had for sale. He was very helpful and nice. He also fixed my son's PS5 controller. There was seriously no hope for that controller to be repaired by anyone else, and Chris somehow managed to fix it. It's been perfect ever since. We bought an electric piano from him that my son loves. Chris is very focused on his job, and does his best to fix whatever he can. I took a speaker to go fix and they take foreverrrrr I paid for a rush order and I still haven't gotten a call for at least for a update

Dropped off my LIKE NEW speaker, which was in a perfectly in tact case, to have the fan replaced. I know for a fact, and swear on my mother's grave, that my speaker had no scratches or dents on it. I always go out of my way to make sure I keep my equipment in NEW condition. When I went to pick it up i unzipped the case and found a zipper was broken. As I looked at it closer I noticed a pretty deep gouge from the zipper on my speaker. I KNOW FOR A FACT that the case and the zipper were not in that condition when I dropped it off. I asked the secretary if she knew what happened and she said, "No, let me go get Chris (owner)" When he came to the front room I asked how that happened and right away he said that I brought it in like that. I replied, I did not and I know for a fact that my equipment was not damaged like that. He tried to accuse me of being some type of low life and just trying to get free sht. I said the hell i am! How about you just fess up to it? He then goes on a tirade about how there's no way he did it and that maybe it was Gremlins in his shop. At that point I lost it and called him out for being a piece of sht. This dude should not be in business. I served for 20 yrs in the military and he's hands down one of the biggest AHoles I've ever dealt with. THAT'S SAYING A LOT! Stay away from this place. He'll even go as far as telling you, "If you don't like it go somewhere else." Yes, he said that too. I needed repair/replacement of dried-out felt pads for the keys of my aging Yamaha Clavinova piano. The keys were making a "clunking" sound when played. Buzz Technical came highly recommended by other piano repair companies in Phoenix, as being the only shop in the Phoenix area that can repair this instrument. This guy sucks, January 2022, just so you know that this is recent has a smart A mouth. I take my amplifier in and was told that it would cost $75 to get it back the same day completely repaired (That didn't happen). was told that I was going to get a call back that same afternoon (that didn't happen) I called him and asked for status minutes before closing and was told "I had to order some parts, someone has been in here messing with stuff and turning things backwards" Me being a mobile and home audio technician asked specifically which parts ( I just don't do internal repairs...yet)? that response I received was a "bunch of parts and I'm surprised that this didn't blow the amplifier. I ordered parts and they will be here on Wednesday" First I didn't ask for parts to be ordered, but what I did ask was how much it would cost to repair, and I got a "I don't know" I then asked will my $75 dollars be taken out of the cost and was told "no, that was to get it on the table". Wednesday came I again call minutes before closing because yet again I haven't heard from him all day asked for status was told " the parts are here but I didn't touch it yet I'll call you when it's done" he called back 2hrs later and saying that it is finished. I asked what had to be ordered and he again game me another bs story avoiding the question. I asked the cost he said "it will be $226" So 226 + 75 = $301 is what I payed him cost of amplifier $400 called JBL directly and asked the cost to replace the entire amplifier and they sent me an emailed invoice for $204 got home open the subwoofer box up and seen that he replaces (2) 4 dollar parts $8 total. this guy is a rip off and I advise that no one goes here. Look into replacing the entire circuit board or amplifier or mother board before going here because he will charge you much much more than the cost of a new one read more

I brought in my Fender Vibrolux Reverb amp to have the vintage channel looked at because it had no sound. I saw a sign on the wall that for a added fee it would be put on the rush list. But since I was planning on selling the amp so I felt no need. I received a call last week that it was ready and picked it up. During our chat I was told to play it for awhile to make sure all stays working.... A couple of months I bought a pair of speakers. When I got home I was really disappointed to find that one of the speakers was not working and it had a major buzzing sound as if something was shorting out. I searched online to see what the issue could be and the only thing I could find is that it may be an issue with the power supply. I called Buzz and explained to the guy (presumably the owner) my issue and he said I should have tested it out... but I asked why if I thought was buying from a reputable electronics repair shop. He did not seem empathetic at all and I offered to take my speaker to get it repaired somewhere else that was close to me and he can spot me the difference of the original sale price...his response was that he wanted to get a first glance at it - he seemed to honor the fact that this speaker was a problem and I assumed he would diagnose and fix the problem without further charge. A few days later, I took off from the middle of my work day and traveled all the way from Gilbert the Glendale Arizona location which took me approximately 2.5 hours roundtrip. When I got there - he immediately power up the speaker and tried to demonstrate the speaker was functional although it was making a loud crackling shorting sound... I could not believe that he actually thought it was not a problem initially and continued to demonstrate that when the speaker is paired to a bluetooth device that it works. Of course it did not sound normal. So, he finally agreed to repair it and he would let me know when it is fixed. He sent an update the next day indicating the speaker is fixed. I was excited, so I went to go pick up the speaker and then find out that he was charging me a service fee for the diagnostics and repairs of which he claimed it needed. I was able to use the speaker without any problem, but then I noticed that one of the input lines (there are 2 of them) was not allowing a full insert of a 1/4" jack. Luckily, the other insert worked so I was able to limp along. So now to the most current date which is 5/16/2021 the speaker is doing the same crackling noise as it was before. I am not wasting my time or effort dealing with this place - it will be easier and more convenient for me to take this speaker in to real repair professionals that can fix it right. Please note that my review is to give light of the way the business handles their customers which I feel is like crap. I don't think speaker repair is their wheelhouse and maybe they do amazing repairs for other equipment. Just not speakers and I knew I should have just taken this speaker to another repair place rather than wasting my time driving there especially if I was going to be charged. My instincts are usually really on the spot and I had a uneasy feeling from the beginning. This review is just my opinion and is my experience which is honest. I would be cautious before buying any gear here and be sure to thoroughly test out anything you buy even though Buzz gets boasting reviews on their amazing repair capabilities. This goes for any place you buy gear, I would not ever trust anything that is sold that is used electronics unless you test it out thoroughly and maybe have them write up a 90 to 120 day warranty for repairs and/or sales of goods. This place held my microphone for over 2 months with no update, I had to call them, for them to tell me that they are just waiting for a response to an email from parts, then called me a month after that and unapologetically told me I had to pick up my mic within a few days or they were going to confiscate my equipment. The fact that this guy took five months to reply to a negative review-speaks volumes. Also, I never raised my voice or used profanity. It was he that cursed me out and screamed so loud in the phone that I had to hold the phone away from me. He got caught in a lie and I called him on his dishonest business practices. He stole my $1000 keyboard as well. I never acted cocky or demanded my repair earlier. He was running two months behind. He said from the onset, "I'll figure out what's wrong and give you an estimate within a month". He finally called with the estimate seven weeks later. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING. RECORD EVERY CONVERSATION YOU HAVE WITH THEM. Better yet, DO BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. Or you too will be screwed out of money. $150 to glue ONE speaker surround! The work is not the best, either, since there is a quarter- to half-inch smear of glue on the cone inside where he glued it. Ugly. Chris is a liar and a cheat. At one point, he said, "Well neither of us have that in writing, so it's my word against yours." I took out of production studio monitors to him (a pair of Yamaha MSP10 Studio), because I needed the woofer surround reglued, and the tweeters replaced. I couldn't source the original tweeters, only those for the previous model, the MSP10. I am an IT professional, and could change the tweeters myself, but I've never reglued a speaker surround, and I figured an official Yamaha repairman might be able to source parts I couldn't. I mentioned part numbers for the tweeters I was looking for, and the part number of the wrong (but functional tweeter), and drove all the way from Prescott to drop my speakers off. I paid a rush fee to jump ahead of his other customers, which should have given me pause. When they called with a quote, they quoted "around $250" for the MSP10 tweeters, and "about $475" for the MSP10 Studio tweeters. I agreed to the higher quote. 8 week later, I went to pick up my speakers, and Chris charged me $475, and then brought out my speakers with the cheaper tweeters in them. I mentioned it, and he immediately started yelling at me, brought up Trump and Russia, and told me he was "losing his ass" talking to me. I mentioned the quote, and that's when he said neither of us have it in writing. I asked if he could come down some on the price (not even demanding the price he quoted), and he insisted multiple times that he undo the work. I finally asked how much it would be for just the speaker surround, and he said "$50." I said, "Plus the 50 for the rush fee?" He said yes. So I waited over an hour, and he brought the speakers out with the original tweeters, and the bill was for $100 ($50 "Estimate refused" fee for EACH SPEAKER), and he didn't bill me for the speaker surround. The $50 for the rush service fee was not on the bill, but he did not refund it, for a total of $150 for a speaker surround! He was holding my speakers hostage, so I didn't fight him any more, and took the speaker. I do want to make clear that the front desk guy was very nice, and treated me fine. Chris is an ornery jerk (I've left out A LOT of weird aggressive things he said, as they're not pertinent to the central point here), a liar, and he will rip you off. Do business with someone else. Chris by far is one of the best in the industry Knowledgeable attentive descriptive trustworthy I don't think there's enough adjectives positive words that I can describe his Work ethics and abilities. Bus technical is the only place that I go to to take care of all of my electronics and more. Being a sound engineer and DJ for the past 20 years it has been difficult to find anyone that knows how to work with skilled hands and product knowledge the way that Chris does. There have been times when I needed a quick turn around and he has accommodated with strategic precision Even his associate James who works the front is one of the most customer service friendly people I have ever met I have read other reviews on here and for anyone to down talk Chris James and bus technicals skills and customer service doesn't know what they're talking about and probly had a badge experience because they themselves are terrible people. I can tell you whole heartedly Chris and pose technical will get any job done for you with precision accuracy and in a timeline that is reasonable with a price to match. I've even brought my Vacuum robot and he told me what I needed to fix on it I'm telling you right now for a guy who's been in the industry for years to meet someone like Chris and to know that he can take care of every little detail top to bottom cross every single T and. every single I it's no wonder why I would write such a review because Chris is the best. Will never use again. Lost a repeat customer. 15Jan: Dropped off a broken speaker for evaluation. 16Feb: Buzz Tech (Chris) calls me with the est. I authorize the work. He says he'll have to order parts. I'm fine with that. I've used him before and I understand nothing moves very fast in the electronic repair industry, esp during a pandemic. I wait patiently, no problems, no contact via phone or e-mail. 21Apr: I call Buzz Tech just to check up. Girl at the desk says work is finished and has been for a while. We banter on the phone pleasantly about how it just maybe fell through the cracks. Shortly after the phone call I get an e-mailed invoice for the parts and labor $326. So I'm pretty convinced at this point they just forgot to call me or e-mail me when they finished...no prob. 27Apr: I go to pick up the speaker and AFTER Chris has run my CC he tells me that he's charged me an additional $50 in "late fees" for not picking up my speaker in time. I tell him that's not true, their stated policy (sign on the wall) is you have 14 days to pick up and I'm at day 7: AND THEN he literally snaps and throws a full-up spitting mad temper tantrum complete with multiple uses of the F-word, gestures, pacing etc, all with a gun on his hip. Like worse than I've ever seen from anyone. We're talking worse than your ex-wife ever yelled at you. Truly epic and terrifying. I was actually amazed at the spectacle this guy made. If I'd had my phone filming he'd be a viral mega star. I showed him my phone log on my phone, just made him angrier. I told him I'd double the entire bill if he could show me any record of him trying to contact me. Didn't matter, he didn't care, he just wanted to throw a tantrum and use every swear word he could think of at me. Seriously, no restraint, no filter. Use at your own risk. And I do mean risk. Like I said, I've never had any problem with them or his work before, but the yelp reviews and his reply's speak for themselves. Very, very, very pleased with the service and work, as well as the helpful attitude of the gentleman at the front counter both when we dropped off our product and picked it up. We took a Sylvania radio/record player/CD unit in because the CD drawer on the system wouldn't open. Hardly a big ticket item compared to some of the other equipment brought in to this company. Not a problem. Not only was the CD drawer fixed at a reasonable price ($70), the gentleman who helped us took extra care to explain some of the finer points on the overall unit both with the CD and the phonograph so we wouldn't experience future problems. I might add the unit is quite special to me: It was a gift from my family some years ago -- especially special because I had lost my hearing not once but twice (after having a successful implant, I lost my hearing again in an auto accident, and had it restored yet again by another implant). Hearing again, and being able to listen to music again, for me, is a minor miracle. I never told the people at Buzz Technical my story, but the fact that they treated us so well on what is a comparatively small account speaks volumes about this business. Horrible Service!! BE WARNED - You had better cross your T's and dot your i's, because this guy will find a way to RIP YOU OFF!! I brought a damaged amp into him to diagnose and to see if it could be repaired. Well, weeks later, I called him to check on it and he said it would cost almost the price of the amp to fix it. So I said forget it. He said he would give me $40 bucks for the amp to take it off my hands. I said ok... then when I asked him to mail me a check for $40... he said more like $10 because he has a $30 diagnosis fee *THAT HE NEVER TOLD ME ABOUT* and I said he never told me this. He says it's on your invoiice and that I should read my invoice. WHAT A SCAMMER!! If he would have verbally told me there was a diagnosis fee, I would have NEVER brought it in to him. Now he keeps my amp for the diagnosis fee. ABSOLUTE SCAM!! He also has little respect for others as I had also brought a pedal in to him because it was causing distortion on my bass amp and he had tried it at his shop and said it did not. When I said it did, he said he didn't believe it and that I should bring my whole rig into him to prove it. I should have known this guy was a jerk from the start... as he wasn't very nice on the phone on my initial call. He sounded like I had just got him out of bed and was pissed about it. People... go to Field Services in Phoenix instead and get MUCH better service and they do NOT charge a diagnosis fee if they can't fix your item. read more

I have been in the music industry as both a touring pro and and a 'week end warrior': I have had approx 10+ repairs by Chris. Recap, trouble shoot both solid state and valve amps. First for those who had less than a 'happy' out come I am sorry to hear this. I have had my moments over the years, (though never words with my techs.) So I understand how it feels when you think someone has been unfair. My experience with Chris and his company has been exceptional. The quality has exceeded my expectations. Let me be more specific, (for guitarists) when you have your amp serviced; and the caps and tubes are replaced often this will change the sonic finger print, which for some can cause a lot of anxiety. In all of my cases my a/c30, fenders, came back sounding as good if not better then when I purchase/ had them modified. Incredible! (I know I was lucky !) Additionally he has worked on our pro-tools pc's.. digital pianos, ( yes, I have a working studio) all with the same success. He has a style that is Cautious and precise. I have found his work to be extremely thorough and consider him to be a great asset. If I could say anything to his new customers I would say, Chris's company is a commercial firm. Yes, he works on our gear (week end warriors.) but he is industrial in his store and approach. I would say you are in very good hands. When you take your gear to be serviced: be specific, (if you can on what is or what you think is not working.) Be patient. ask questions: You need to remember Chris has developed his skills over years and years, don't confuse the fact that he makes it look easy for it actually being easy. As to his prices: tricky here, I think he has been right on point. Know, no one can stay in business, if they spend most of there time working for free. He is an expert! He's going to check out everything regardless, because this is why he is one of the best in the business! I hope if you choose Chris, to service your gear, that you have the same experience I have had.
