The store is packed with any genre of sheet music and books (and TAB form) for every instrument you can imagine (banjo, dulcimer, mandolin, vocals, guitar, piano, brass instruments, woodwinds, etc all of them). They sell accessories such as guitar strings, tuners, straps, picks, music stands, and some acoustic guitars and banjos as well. Vinyl records and small musical gifts line the walls, it's so fun to explore and each time you visit you'll find something new, as there's so much selection. If there is something they don't have in stock, they will order it for you. The vibe is very relaxed and they are never pushy, you can look around for 30 min alone exploring if you want and just ask if you need anything. Love this place and can't recommend it enough, it's also a vintage store with history dating back to the 1950's so it has such cute charm and decor, it's an experience that online shopping can't give. I now purchase all my sheet music and guitar accessories from Central Music, support local!

We had three choices and price points, and I selected the "student" one which was the least expensive, and wow, this instrument sounds so much better and is in great shape! We were in and out of the shop in 20 minutes. The salesperson helping us was knowledgeable and friendly and we were able to find the accessories we needed as well (shoulder rest sponge and rosin). She's been playing it for 3 months with no issues and it doesn't go out of tune quickly like her cheap one. Billing is automatic and easy, with no mistakes. Such a great experience - we'll definitely be back when it's time to upgrade to the next one!

They try to do much in a limited space, and mostly, that works. Their wind and violin/viola/cello/bass/etc space is really nice, and their acoustical guitar and bass sections are strong. The keyboards area is sort of scrunched together but top brands and a bit of variety. I liked their synths, although not a crazy variety. Prices I heard seemed a bit higher, but there is added value here, too. Huge sheet music section. Much wind instrument variety, as well as mouthpieces, reeds/ligatures/etc. It has the widest and broadest inventory I've seen in Arizona. Worth a visit; musicians will appreciate the variety.

After placing my online order, the website had an technical issue and failed to create my order at the physical store level. Not only that, but the order disappeared from my account so the only way for an update on the status was to call customer support. I placed the order on a Wednesday, for the next 2 days after placing the order, customer support told me that the order was looking good and not too worry. After waiting all weekend for some update, I still hadn't received an update on Monday. Luckily one customer support agent caught something weird in my order and noticed my order did not get put through to the store. Shane from this location called me and explained the situation, which surprised me since the customer support agent was supposed to call me back with an update. Within minutes I got an update regarding the label being created. Fast forward to Wednesday (1 week after placing the order) no update regarding the shipment. Shane helped verify that the guitar did indeed get picked up by UPS and was on its way. Later in the day I received a message that the guitar was in my area preparing for transfer. Never did I think that an online order would be so complicated, especially in 2026. I called customer support and spoke with a supervisor to express my frustration throughout my experience, and the supervisor repeatedly tried pinning the blame on the store instead of the faulty outdated website. The employees at this location were very respectful and understanding whenever I called, and helped me at every step of the way. Although I had the negative experience with the online side of Guitar Center, this store was a huge pleasure to work with and I really hope they are being compensated properly for their hard work.

I am however an eternal optimist & decided to give an intro beginners class a chance. I'm glad I did :) I had SO much fun! The instructor, I think her name is Linda, was amazing. She was so knowledgeable, broke steps down so it didn't feel overwhelming, made all of us feel comfortable & really made it an experience to remember. Our children got to dance with Linda that night. Since both children enjoyed it, we were thrilled to hear she taught children's classes on Saturday mornings. When I called Linda to arrange for private classes, I was very surprised to hear how reasonable her prices are. Based on my experience with private ballroom dance lessons, I was expecting to pay twice as much as she quoted me. My daughter and I started taking classes together in September and we are enjoying learning something together. We are getting more than what we pay for. Linda is quite obviously not only a professional, but talented and passionate about her art. Her ability to teach both of us at the same time is exceptional, especially given the difference in our attention spans. Both my daughter and I leave every week feeling like we had a good time, and find that we are progressing as well.

I emailed, asking if they work on DIY amplifiers, and that I had been working on one for a few months, but was having trouble. I was up front that I am a novice, and was just hoping to get the amp working. They responded, saying they'd be happy to help get the amplifier up and running. I took the amp in, and a little over a week later, hadn't heard anything back, so I called to check. They advised they had only had a chance to look at the inputs and tone pots, and that it "wasn't worth their time". This felt lazy, rude, and I don't understand why they didn't just decline to service it at drop off, rather than wait. While I appreciate that they didn't charge for looking at the two sections they looked at, this still was a pretty poor experience.

He's installed some PPIMV knobs for me and he had interesting placement ideas. He gets the pot values and knobs right. These are details pro-minded guitarist will care about it but player would appreciate. When he was fixing a bent face plate on a JTM Plexi panel amp, he said the amp had a bulging capacitor and $15 in parts later, that thing won't explode in my amp and lead to a more serious repair bill. When I told him about my cabling issue with using an effects loop with a pedalboard, he offered to custom make a three cable loom. I'd spent plenty of time online looking for loom solutions and I'm happy I'm talking with Jeff now. We talked out a bunch of design choices and I'll have it next month. Jeff gets he has the kind of attitude and offers the service and value that every professional guitarist would appreciate. The reward is to have your gear sound great and you're probably going to learn a couple of interesting things that you didn't know before but are happy to know now as you might make another performance improvement in your live rig. I have a really good guitar tech at a different shop and I'm very loyal to people that provide outstanding service. Yet I'm seriously considering asking one of his guitar techs to tackle a hard service job involving a three-way switch on an old Les Paul Custom that has a StringBender installed making the switch selection difficult as it's position is undesirable. I've used Field Services, I continue to use Hunt Amplification and I now know nearly all of my amp service business will be with Jeff Naylor. I have two dozen amps and they need attention from time to time so I bet I'll be headed to Mesa every 6-10 weeks going forward. As far as I'm concerned, Baker Amp Repair has the best amp service in town right now. Check them out.
