I called to see if they would replace one broken string on my old acoustic guitar and they told me to bring it in. You wouldn't know this is one of the cheapest repair services possible, hardly worth the effort for them, because the guy that attended me treated me with such courtesy and respect, you'd think I was in for an expensive service. Really made me feel like a respected and valued customer, despite this being about a $5 fix. Given what they make on average for more significant repairs, they probably lost money on helping me, but he was fast, friendly, and kind. I will *definitely* be returning with any future repairs on my other instruments. Can't recommend them highly enough. read more

These guys are incredible. If you own any acoustic guitars that you truly care about, you HAVE to take them here. Daryk took care of me and my D18, HD28, & J45! Doing really great complementary stuff like drilling the strap button on all of em, adjusting neck pitch, to installing the anthem pick up! (Which is an incredibly scary process of drilling holes through the saddle, etc.) and on each guitar they talked me through some of the issues they saw and how they remedied them without adding to the price. Finding a good guitar shop in Phoenix is a bit of a chore but if you're in the market for a nice acoustic, look no further. First the selection was outstanding. From Taylor's to Martin's for sure, but it's the exotic flavors that you can't find elsewhere that set this place apart. I played a few Larrivee's and somehow settled on a sweet Breedlove! It was very comfortable and quiet so easy to sit down and get a great feel for a bunch of instruments. They even have Deering Banjos amongst other surprises! It's a guitar players shop but a great place for beginners to stop also. The gentleman helping me was informative and friendly and made me feel at home. I play mostly electrics but left home with something cool today and will be coming back regularly. read more

One of a kind! These people sell extremely high-quality instruments. They know what they have, and how it's made, and how it differs from other makes of the same type instruments. And in some instances, they personally know who made it. These are exactly the type of people that we all need to talk with if we're going to invest in an instrument that we will likely have for the rest of our lives. I understand they also do repairs, but I have not personally had the need for such a thing, so I can't comment on the quality of their repair work although I would bet that it is top-notch. I wish there were more retail establishments like this one. I wish I knew a car dealer where the people knew as much about what they were selling and cared as much about you getting the right one for your specific needs. read more

This spot is a gem. I came here thinking that I would need a repair on my saddle, but the technician (Derrick) took one look at my guitar and decided to change the strings and then diagnose the problem. Not sure exactly what he did, but he adjusted the neck of my guitar and in no time, my guitar was working again. He only charged me for putting the strings on! Took my new Washburn guitar in to have the action lowered. Dylan helped me. Not only was he friendly and helpful, it was obvious that he knew his stuff. In just 10 minutes he was able to see how the adjustment could be made, took care of it, and didn't even charge me for his time. I brought two guitars in to be repaired on a Wednesday morning (Dec 27)after speaking with Dylan on Tuesday. When I arrived, the lobby was empty with only one or two other people in the shop. I waited for about 5 minutes to be noticed, and was informed that the tech was out sick. Ok. Stuff happens, no problem. I told the gentleman what I needed done, was told the tech would be back "tomorrow ", so I left my guitars and drove the 30 miles back home. After almost a week and a half, I hadn't heard anything back so I called to get an update. I was told that the tech was still out sick and there were a backlog of work orders and no time line as to when they would be completed. How do you run a business this way? No phone call to let customers know whats going on? No back up guitar tech? And then major attitude when I drove ANOTHER 60 miles round trip to pick them up. The guy in the lobby said the tech was still out, shrugged his shoulders, shuffled back to retrieve my guitars with no urgency or care..in fact, he acted put out. I got my gear and just left, with no word of apology or understanding. Really? I wanted to like this shop, but I'll never set foot in there again and will actively discourage anyone I know to find somewhere else to go. read more

Went in here with my Dad. Never been to the store before and had no idea what to expect. Was planning on looking at some Gibson J45's and immediately was greeted and let into the space. The guys that work at this store are so nice, and helpful. No pressure at all to buy anything. They have a fantastic selection of acoustics from many different brands. My dad and I jammed on a bunch of Gibsons and Martins, testing them all out before I settled on a J45. Acoustic Vibes is by far the best guitar store I've ever been in. I used to live in NY and NJ and there were many fine guitar stores within a reasonable distance. I moved to northern Arizona 5 years ago and the only guitar store I go to is Acoustic Vibes which is a 2-hour drive away. They have an amazing selection of high-end as well as medium-level guitars and the customer service is so far beyond any place I've dealt with. I've so far purchased 3 high-end guitars from them and will buy more as the need (or desire) warrants. Earlier this year I had a guitar that needed to be serviced and I tried 2 guitar techs closer to where I live. Neither could fix the problem - one suggested that I needed to put new tuners on the guitar for a problem that Phil (the luthier) was able to resolve just by tightening the existing tuners. Phil is currently fixing another guitar I purchased there and he has kept me informed of the status throughout the process. The quality of the guitars they have in the shop, the customer service, and their attention to detail are so far beyond any store I've been in. Whenever I'm in the Phoenix area I make a point to stop in to play some of their very fine guitars. They are always happy to let me play as many and as long as I want. This place is amazing. Much larger and better stocked than I would ever expect. Stuff you won't find anywhere else. Very friendly, eager to talk about the guitars and the business. Employees are active players (one that I spoke to was a luthier). I ended up buying a Tonewood Amp from them after they took the time to really demo it for me. A couple of days later, I even got a phone call from the owner asking if I had any issues and letting me know that they had lined up a ToneWood clinic that I might be interested in since I had just bought one. I purchased my Custom Shop Martin there, after many visits and "tryouts" in the store. They prefer that you call for an appointment and you will see why, they take great care of their instruments so whoever purchases them will have a perfect one. I have since needed a small nick repaired on the neck edge of my Martin, and Phil did a perfect job on it. He is a skilled luthier. Jeff, I wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the team at your store after my visit this morning. My wife Wendy and I dropped in to view your selection of guitars. We were quickly greeted by Nikki who was not only very friendly, but also extremely knowledgeable. She immediately made us feel at home and we were welcomed to play any of the instruments. This was a very pleasantly different environment than your typical guitar store here in the valley. Nikki listened to some concerns I have with one of my guitars and offered luthier services if needed. After playing some guitars for about 30 minutes we were greeted by Bernie who was quick to find some common interests with us. He offered a wealth of knowledge about the guitars I was interested in and helped narrow down what was ultimately quite a tough decision of what to purchase. The store was filled with acoustic dreams, some of which one could never imagine seeing in person. We decided to purchase a pre-owned, but like new Taylor PS-16CE, something that Bernie helped make happen with a very fair negotiation.
