While I was in town visiting my son, he mentioned that there was a music store not far from us that he'd like to visit. I wasn't prepared for the size of this place-it's far more than just a "music store." He had a gleeful look of awe as he admired the selection of brass instruments and was able to play a few of them too. He'll be ready to make a purchase soon, so he wants to know for sure which one is just right. If you don't quite know what you're looking for, or need some elevated service, you might find someone, you might not. It's a more laid-back approach to customer service-we had to seek someone out for help. But I suppose I prefer that over an in-your-face sales person trying to close a deal.

Everyone I spoke to was really nice, and I was able to get my flute serviced quickly. The instrument repair person is there on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They did a pretty good job, but definitely didn't polish my flute, which I was kind of disappointed about, especially since I asked it to be thoroughly cleaned (this was also indicated on my service ticket they typed up). I was able to polish it myself after I got it back with a silver polishing cloth that I had to purchase. They have a huge variety of instruments, accessories, and books! It does seem to be more catered to guitars/percussion, but they still had a decent selection for woodwinds and brass. They also have tons of teachers that do private lessons. I will definitely be returning if I need anymore repairs done, as they did a nice job with those!

You wouldn't know this is one of the cheapest repair services possible, hardly worth the effort for them, because the guy that attended me treated me with such courtesy and respect, you'd think I was in for an expensive service. Really made me feel like a respected and valued customer, despite this being about a $5 fix. Given what they make on average for more significant repairs, they probably lost money on helping me, but he was fast, friendly, and kind. I will *definitely* be returning with any future repairs on my other instruments. Can't recommend them highly enough.

He was able to answer all of our questions and provided insight in what to do to improve our playing. He was able to understand my questions even though I could not verbalize correctly (did not have the correct terms). He provided a tremendous amount of valuable information. I will definitely make this our go-to company for all of our guitar and future music needs. Even though I am a rank beginner, I was not made to feel inadequate. I have been inspired to practice even more now after our visit to the Lost Dutchman Music Company.

Stumbled upon Zimm's Guitar and had my guitar with me. I was planning to go to a larger guitar store. I dropped in just to see what his store was about. Well I found an oasis of everything guitar, as. Well as Zimm's friendly demeanor and willingness to help you out with what ever problem you are having with your guitar. In my case it was fret buzz. He examined my guitar and showed me exactly how to fix it. To me it was like an old time store where the owner actually cares about his clientele. I would definitely recommend a visit, you leave feeling great a smarter about your guitar. read more

This place is the best. Dane is very laid back and personable. He knows his stuff. He repaired my fretless bass guitar for a very reasonable price and I picked up a great acoustic there as well. Every time I visit the store, it is well stocked and there is something new to see. It is the sort of gem of a place that is well worth visiting frequently. I've toured the Country going to guitar shops. If I'm not allowed to pick up a guitar- Say even a cheap mid-line workhouse style guitar like a red Epiphone Firebird; Then it should be excplitly explained by staff upon greeting customers at he door. If your business model is to turn away customers that you don't think will buy a real guitar, then just politely ask. It's not that difficult, and as a professional customer I would clearly understand. I have never seen an establishment so good at making customers feel unwanted and uncomfortable- Ever. Not to mention I did walk in with a very healthy budget in mind, and was seriously considering a new guitar that I could use.
