Zimm's Guitars doesn't need my 5star review. But They deserve it. They have an astounding selection of guitars.., cases, amps, cords, effects of many types. Etc. My Guitarsmith Brandon recommended them. Thanks, Brandon!!! But it just confirmed my suspicion..... Zimm's Guitars is the place Case in point : this very day I picked up a nice Fender Acoustic with Custom Eastwood backpack/gig bag for my youngest grandson. The perfect starter kit. Just add instruction And... Practice Practice Practice of course,... My Son gonna have the cleanest yard in town!!! read more

Went in for a simple bass setup. Was super happy with it when they were done. Extremely affordable and a quick turn around. They really seem to know their stuff. Will be coming back for sure. read more

Best place for used equipment. I am starting electric bass and didn't want to spend too much initially in case I didn't like it. I went there and bought a used bass guitar, amp, stand, cord, strap and a free used bass case for less than $200 after taxes!!! I spoke to some of the customers there and they all agreed that this is the best place for buying used instruments and gear. I will definitely be going back and recommending this to everyone that is interested. read more

My experience at Zimm's Guitars was so good that I re-downloaded Yelp after uninstalling it years ago to say so. I wanted to start playing bass for the first time and these guys got me set up with everything I needed to start playing that same day for a hundred bucks (instrument, cables, and amp). No shady business, no sneaky upcharges, just an honest guy selling honest stuff. I'll definitely be coming back here next time I want to upgrade my gear. read more

Super nice folks great selection and service. Did an adjustment on my Les Paul had me in and out in about 15 minutes, went over everything with me including action measurements and why it did or did not need certain things. Super appreciated! read more

Well... Drove about an hour each way to check this place out. And I learned if you are seeking mainly modified low end guitars, don't ask questions, and are into people with a significant sketch factor and only want to watch football and snarl if you try to engage, this is your place. I may elaborate if I get a snarky reply, but there's definitely a market for what I described. And I wish them and this proprietor well in the pursuit of the same. Pro tip...if you expect to sell (not trade) an $800 guitar, expect to have to engage a bit. If not, Football is always available. read more

I am absolutely stoked I was recommended to Zimms Guitars by friends and a bandmate. Since walking in the store a couple weeks ago , I have been in the store 4 or 5 times already. I had my PRS get a tune up and bought a killer Fender Tele . Dane the owner is awesome. He is knowledgeable and very friendly. No pressure type of guy but willing to get you into that guitar or gear you really love. The inventory is killer with a price range that is very affordable. He even has a rack of used/redone guitars that are just $100. He is very friendly about you trying out the guitars amps, pedals etc. As far as my tune up. I felt like I walked away with a brand new guitar. Dane did a killer job cleaning it up. Will def be bringing in all my guitars when they need a tune up. Plus the pricing was so customer friendly and reasonable. Highly recommend this olace for the beginner to local gigging musicians. read more

Cool shop! Lots of really great instruments! Friendly too! 10/10 would shop there again. Thanks Dane!

Visited this store yesterday after seeing the Zimm's Guitar youtube channel. This is an awesome little store with over 400 used guitars in stock The owner Dane was super cool and was happy to stop what he was doing and chat about guitars. What a cool selection of unique and affordable guitars you wont see on "guitar center' website. You won't find a real 1959 Les Paul here but you'll probably find your next guitar, amp, or pedal here. If not, stop in, say hi to Dane and grab t-shirt. Support local buisness's like Danes. read more

I went into Zimm's thinking I might upgrade from a 30 dollar Yamaha Strat copy I found on Craig's List that I learned on. I intended to look at a Squire classic vibe or maybe a MIM strat but Dane gave me a great deal on an American Standard Stratocaster. He let me play almost every Strat he had on the wall and even played with me for awhile. Sure, he is trying to run a business, but you can tell this guy just loves guitars and wants people to leave with gear that will make them smile. He never pressured me to buy anything and just let me have fun in his store for around 3 hours. So I left with a beautiful guitar that sounds amazing and is something I can give to my son some day. Highly, highly recommended and I will be back when it is time to upgrade to a better amp. read more

Zimm's Guitars - 2011 American Standard with Sienna Burst Finish and a rosewood fingerboard. - Guitar Stores Near Me - Mesa, Arizona

Update: Still my favorite shop. I think I've bought 5 guitars from Dane now, and thinking about stopping in and grabbing another real soon. The new location is great too. Stop in and check it out! read more

This place is great for finding a variety of gear, at a great price. The beauty is the movement of goods being bought-and-sold to where one week there's nothing to catch your eye, and the week after that the exact piece of gear you wanted ends up on the wall or in the case. He's super fair with prices, and great with customers. Don't expect a guitar center experience or selection. Go in being realistic and then stop in again later if you didn't see what you needed that first time. read more

Zimm's is an eclectic guitar shop tucked away in a strip mall. You get personalized service Don the owner who has made music/ guitars his lifelong endeavor. I brought both my granddaughters to this shop to see what kind of electric guitars would be appropriate and left with 2 very nice brand new guitars which have proven to be great instruments for beginners. read more

Perfect place to pick up a unique gift for my nephew. Dane's guidance was so helpful. Loved helping a local small business who gives back to the community. Incredible selection. You won't be disappointed in stopping by. read more

Cool guitar shop! Most, if not all, merchandise is used and in good shape. Owner is a nice guy. I wish I lived closer..

Would not recommend this guitar shop if it was the last one in Arizona. Proprietor, as others have noted, is not interested in you as a customer. You are an annoyance. Do not ask questions or ask for new strings or action adjustment on a guitar you may have just purchased from him. Have questions, expect more sarcasm, insults, and it's all good until you have an issue... which is why it is best to not visit this shop in the first place. Worst experience at a music store ever. Beyond sketch - passive aggressive defined and zero customer service. read more

They repaired my electric bass without any issues. If you have a guitar in need of repair, this is the place to go. Very cool shop!

Super rad local guitars! If you're looking for a deal definitely start here. I came in with no intention of buying any guitar and left with a used but still badass bass for a great deal I couldnt pass up. Really cool owner too you can tell he loves the trade. He does repairs as well! I'll be back for sure. read more

My DJ amp was missing a part and I called this place hoping they would help me repair it even though it's a guitar store. I was panicking because I was getting ready for a party and I had four days left. This is a great mom and pop shop ran by a husband-and-wife which were very friendly. I am very picky with people touching my music equipment but I felt very comfortable and confident with them. My amp was fixed right away and good as new. Thanks Zimms Guitars !!!! read more

Definitely my new go-to guitar store. Zimm's is legit. Took the time to help get a guitar going with about an hour left in his day. I had just bought it knowing it need some some missing parts. He hooked it up with piece otherwise would of taken time to track down. Put some strings on it for me set it up and now I'm ready to shred. Took at look at the rest of my gear and reassured me my setup I pieced together was good for my experience level and my price. All around great shop. Always very helpful and I can't wait to get back there and pick up one of his many kick ass guitars that are ready to go. Best guitar shop I've ever been to! Thanks bro! read more

Amazing bargains - Always a blast to the past with quality pro gear both new and used. Keep on Rocking in the Free World !!!

Excellent customer service. I needed to change a humbucker to a single coil. Owner made sure the pickup was perfect and that everything would work before fixing, which only took a day. Picked it up and the thing sounded great! Also, pricing was more than reasonable. read more

Great little shop. I like stopping in to see what's on the walls - the inventory is constantly changing. No issues with just plugging in and trying anything out. Zimm is laid back, helpful and can tell you a bit about every guitar. Also has a bunch of pedals and amps to try. Cool place, check it out. read more

A well needed store in the area. There is already a store nearby that sells only new equipment so this is a perfect match with his nice used inventory. The owner is knowledgeable and very helpful and not out to rip people off. A great place to go to get your first guitar and amp. He has a good inventory of quality low priced guitars both acoustic and electric. My daughter just bought a guitar from and is super happy with her purchase. read more
