In Masa for a visit and found myself downtown. Wandering into Malano's for no good reason. Was asked if I could use some help by an older gentleman (like me). Had a great conversation with him about harmonicas which I sort of messed with years ago. Super knowledgeable and interesting this man is. This store is packed with instruments and people that know how to play them. Last words... fun and some kind of magic.

This place is a dream store for anyone that loves music. The voice lesson booths upstairs and sheet music catalogs were filled with people. Down stairs there is a robust repair department with many experts fine tuning instruments. There were experts helping people choose equipment and instruments. Best of all a fun area where people were playing different instruments trying them out. What a joyful place to be today.

This is the coolest music store I've ever been to! I had an hour or two to burn, and I accomplished my mission. The sheer amount of instruments Milano's has, is incredible. I spent the first hour in the percussion section. They have everything...acoustic, electric, brass horns, accordions, guitars, keyboards, djembes, fiddles, upright basses, whistles, harmonicas, ukuleles, drums, cymbals. I love the pick drawers, I grabbed a bunch of different large Fender triangles. Awesome store and service!!!

Poor workmanship and experience at the repair shop. Paid $550 to have my pro clarinet overhauled. Upon receiving, the key rings are way too elevated (should be .5mm) and Milano's couldn't be bothered to even clean off all the polishing compound (pic showing just a few examples of the issues). While I could have left the horn so they could have corrected these problems, I live too far away and it should have been done correctly to begin with.

Swung by a few days later and picked up a Takamine. Again the guys here were awesome, and the experience was one of the best I've ever had in a music store. Thanks a bunch!

Rented my first viola there when I was in 4th grade, and my sheet music collection is entirely Milanos-made.

I left the guitar with Guitar Gallery and the tech took my guitar off site to his own shop to troubleshoot and try to resolve the issue. After a couple weeks I called and was told he was still working on it but should have it finished soon. Finally I called and was told he was bringing it back over to the store and I could pick it up just before they closed. I picked it up and paid $65 for his time and efforts. He said the static was still present but was perhaps slightly less, and that the static could be coming from the plastic cover plates on the back of the guitar and he said he would make me new replacement covers of a different t material to see if that would alleviate the static. He said he would have them done in about a week. I brought the guitar home and discovered the vibrato trem arm was missing. I called the tech's cell the next day and he never answered or returned messages. I called the shop and they said they didn't know anything about the missing trem arm. After many many attempts I eventually gave up and just ordered a new trem arm from an online shop. I never heard from anyone again about the replacement back plate covers or my missing trem arm. I do not recommend taking a guitar to this shop for any repair. I'm out $65 for attempted repairs, and another $25 to replace the misplaced trem arm myself. Signed...Pissed in Peoria

But she had a concert coming up later in the week, so Mike was able to get it fixed in time for that. It became clear she needed a marching band flute. Mike suggested a used one at a great price. Turns out also the Gemeinhardt was being borrowed from her cousin. So I asked Mike for his recommendation for a concert flute. While my granddaughter is a freshman, she is lead flutist for the high school. Mike said he sold Di Zhao. We did a lot of comparison shopping and testing, but ultimately it was up to my granddaughter, as Mike said, because she knows what she likes in playing and the sound. Most schools recommend Yamaha. My granddaughter decided on the Di Zhao. She got an 801 BEF for a great price. Most importantly I could tell Mike liked musical kids! I watched him interact as they brought their instruments in for repair. I cannot thank him enough for the time, knowledge and courtesy in taking care of three problems for my granddaughter. Plus his pricing is unbelievably fair.
