For guitars they carry Fender guitars and Gibson guitars plus Martin guitars and Taylor guitars. Since their HUGE music store is in Mesa and we live in Glendale the best part was we used their online rental service and they had an option to pick up the saxophone rental and violin rental at one of their 23 partner rental stores all over Maricopa County or one of their Educational Representatives could drop it off at the school for us. While I was in town visiting my son, he mentioned that there was a music store not far from us that he'd like to visit. I wasn't prepared for the size of this place-it's far more than just a "music store." He had a gleeful look of awe as he admired the selection of brass instruments and was able to play a few of them too. He'll be ready to make a purchase soon, so he wants to know for sure which one is just right. If you don't quite know what you're looking for, or need some elevated service, you might find someone, you might not. It's a more laid-back approach to customer service-we had to seek someone out for help. But I suppose I prefer that over an in-your-face sales person trying to close a deal.

I took a new PRS guitar I had purchased at another shop in for some warranty work on a static noise…read moreissue coming through the body. I left the guitar with Guitar Gallery and the tech took my guitar off site to his own shop to troubleshoot and try to resolve the issue. After a couple weeks I called and was told he was still working on it but should have it finished soon. Finally I called and was told he was bringing it back over to the store and I could pick it up just before they closed. I picked it up and paid $65 for his time and efforts. He said the static was still present but was perhaps slightly less, and that the static could be coming from the plastic cover plates on the back of the guitar and he said he would make me new replacement covers of a different t material to see if that would alleviate the static. He said he would have them done in about a week. I brought the guitar home and discovered the vibrato trem arm was missing. I called the tech's cell the next day and he never answered or returned messages. I called the shop and they said they didn't know anything about the missing trem arm. After many many attempts I eventually gave up and just ordered a new trem arm from an online shop. I never heard from anyone again about the replacement back plate covers or my missing trem arm. I do not recommend taking a guitar to this shop for any repair. I'm out $65 for attempted repairs, and another $25 to replace the misplaced trem arm myself. Signed...Pissed in Peoria

Every time I stop by Bookmans Entertainment Exchange in Mesa, I manage to find at least one hidden…read moregem in the comic book section. In fact, I can usually find something to check off my ever-growing wish list--which is why I keep coming back. The catch? You're going to have to put in some serious time digging through the racks. The bagged-and-boarded comics are loosely organized by DC, Marvel, and Indie, with the individual titles generally alphabetized. They also have a section of bundles, which is always worth a look if you're hunting for complete runs. Unfortunately, nothing in the bundles made it onto my wish list this time. After spending a considerable amount of time working my way through the DC and Marvel sections, I wandered over to the magazine racks and discovered even more comics--some bagged and boarded, along with plenty of raw comics that were definitely in the low-grade, $1-bin neighborhood. The downside? This section appeared to have absolutely no organizational system. Consider it the comic-book equivalent of an archaeological dig. Bring patience. And possibly snacks. I also checked out the video game section to see if there were any must-haves hiding behind the glass. I found a few games in the locked cabinet, but some were priced about the same as buying a brand-new copy. I'm not really sure how that makes sense for a resale store. If I'm buying used, I'm expecting at least a little bit of a "used game" discount. Overall, Bookmans is worth checking out if you're hunting for comics, especially if you enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Don't expect everything to be perfectly organized or easy to find. Be prepared to spend some quality time flipping through racks, digging through the less-organized sections, and hoping the comic-book gods smile upon you. I didn't walk out with a massive haul, but I did find something worth adding to the collection--which makes the hunt worthwhile. I just left the Bookman's Store on Country Club and Southern, and I was abused and disrespected by…read moreone of their staff members. I was shopping, and waiting for my trade offer for some items I brought in. I asked to look at a Collector Comic Book that was locked in a case. I asked the staff member if I could take the book out and look a it because I wanted to make sure nothing was cut out of the comic. He immediately became defensive, and his attitude became hostile. I said "if there is anything cut out it's not worth $25 and I want to check. If I damage it while looking at it, I'll pay for it." His response wasn't helpful or understanding, it was pushy and abusive. "You should just get these while you see them. No one has these, and I've never seen one in our store since I've been here". I said "I have been collecting comics all of my life, and if there is anything cut out, it's not worth $10 to me". Again, instead of being friendly and asking anything helpful or asking questions, he was pushy and forceful, and became even more irritated when I pointed out the water damage on the back of the comic and told him I didn't want it. He was very unfriendly from the start. A toxic person, to be as kind as I can be. I received notice that my trade offer was ready, but I cancelled my trade offer, and walked out of the store with the items I had brought to trade. I WILL NEVER RETURN AS LONG AS THAT PERSON WORKS THERE. When I advised the staff of what happened, they seemed disinterested in doing anything. I asked them "how can you allow a person who treats customer this was to work here, and why would you want to work here if the business allows this?" They all looked at me with blank stares on their faces. A manager did talk to me, but it was the same attitude as the rude employee. He didn't introduce himself my name. He didn't try to find out the name of the employee. His attitude, like the rude staff member, was an attitude of not wanting to be there, an attitude of feeling irritated that they have to actually talk to a customer and assist them, an attitude of superiority and entitlement, an attitude that their customers do not matter to them and that they don't respect people in general. I advised their manager on duty that I work as a customer service consultant, and the employees treatment was unacceptable. He did offer complimentary credit, but did not indicate how much. I declined and told them honestly "I don't care if you pay me a Billion dollars in cash, I don't want it if that person works here. What he did was unacceptable and he should be fired". I am sure they won't do anything, and I want everyone to know that Bookman's is a TOXIC company who does not appreciate their customers, and they will screw you over and abuse you if you go there.
