I had a wheel stud break, and was recommended by roadside assistance to come visit this shop. I called other shops in the area, they quoted me 24+ hours on the repair. I came first thing in the morning, and they told me where to grab the part for their service. They fit me in their schedule, and got me in and out in 20 minutes for $20. Staff was beyond friendly, prices are beyond fair, service is way better than any shop I've been to here in MI. Staff was extremely rude to older gentleman before me. Then I got my turn... same thing. Rude, and unprofessional. When I asked for the manager, he got even more disrespectful told me he was bringing my car down down from the lift (undone) and to have a nice day... and closed the window on my face. Came to work this morning and noticed my driver side rear tire was super low, and I was stressed out!! I got online, made a few searches and made some calls. One of my tires kept getting flat so I looked up this place on Yelp and went over to get it checked out. Initially I wasn't sure I was turning into the right place because it was a little woodsy but once I descended I realized I was in the right location. Once I pulled up, someone was outside but didn't speak to me at all so I was confused on what to do. I then saw the office door on the right so I went in. There was a lady at the window who helped me. It was about an hour wait to get my tire looked at. Turned out to be a staple in it which they removed and repaired the tire. Brought my 2005 Jeep TJ in to have a 4" suspension lift put on and some new 35" tires on the stock Jeep wheels. Donnie was very helpful in picking the Hercules Terra Trac T/G Max. Butler was super accommodating as I didn't think ahead regarding wheel backspacing and trying to save money using stock wheels. To make a long story long, I got wheel spacers which worked well. I ultimately wanted new wheels anyway and purchased some black steel wheels that they swapped out for me. Can't say enough about the fast and friendly atmosphere at Butler Tire Service. I would recommend anyone with higher end rims find a more qualified shop. A year or two back I brought my van in as we had a bad blow out. Bought two new tires to replace. One of the tires was mounted backwards. At the time I chalked it up to simple human error. But come on, you are a tire shop. They did fix it. I brought my new WRX with nicer painted rims in to get the summer tires swapped out with for winter tires. You had one guy working the drivers side another the passenger side. One guy wasn't paying attention and again almost mounted the tire backward. Thankfully there was a manager back there at the time who caught it and corrected him. But come on, the same thing AGAIN? I can't have that bad of luck. Likely there are others out there that don't know such mistakes are being made. However this is minor compared to how they treated my rims. They put bad scratches in all 4 rims. They have noticeable surface scratches. A standard car with normal non painted aluminum rims probably wouldn't notice or show any scratches. However, someone with higher end painted or chrome rims beware. This shop either has poor equipment or poor training to handle such rims. I recommend spending a few extra dollars and finding a shop that will take better care of your wheels. When I showed the shop the damage they refunded me my money spent on the mounting, $80. That was a nice jester, but doesn't equal the paint damage done. read more

There used to be a lot more places out in the country that did high quality auto work for a reasonable price. You might have to look at a map to find them, but you didn't have to worry about being fleeced or bamboozled once you got there. This place is one of those. Like driving back in time about 50 years. When you get there you deal with Donnie, who is a no b.s. kind of guy who knows everything in the world there is to know about tires. He helps you figure out what you need, and comes up with a price. It will probably be significantly less than you expected. No hidden fees, no surprises. You feel like you've been a customer here all your life. I got a new set of tires and they are driving great so far. If you need tires or anything else, you would be smart to give them a call. This is a really good tire shop. I purchased tires separately for my vehicle as they have been hard to come by during the era of Covid. I then started the hunt for a place in Frederick to take my electric car to that would not only be fairly priced but also felt comfortable working on an electric car without hesitation. Butler fit the bill, and the reviews are spot on. They were professional, polite, and told me they did not have the jack pads before working on it but were willing to. I brought my own pads that are used to protect the battery and they had no issues, and also asked questions when necessary without hesitation. They put on and balanced the tires perfectly with no rim scratches. They do walk ins, and I was in and out in under a hour. The waiting area was comfortable and even had WiFi. I needed two new tires for my truck. I wanted to match the existing tires and some places didn't carry Generals. The places that did were more expensive and took days to get them in stock. I needed these tires as soon as possible as I had a plug in one tire and hit something in the road last night causing a bad slash in the other tire so the spare was in use. If the unfortunate happened and I got another flat I would surely be out of luck. I stopped in Butler's around 9:30 am was told to come back at 2:00 and they would have my tires. My car was at 4 different shops for a shimmy in front end. One shop sold me a used tire and broke one of my lugs. Said it was ok. 4 was enough. Shimmy better but not gone. The next shop told me I needed an alignment. After performing the alignment, they said it probably won't hold because the TyRods were bad. The next shop said I needed shocks not TyRods. After shocks they attempted another alignment and realized yes...I did need TyRods. $900 later feeling safe I Drove the car from Florida to Maryland to be with my new grandson and guess what???shimmy still there and worse than ever once I got up to 60mph. After trying multiple shops in Maryland I stumbled onto Butler. They asked...do you feel the shimmy in steering wheel? As soon as I said yes. They removed and balanced front tires. Problem solved. Imagine my awe and surprise when they said no charge. I have a bunch more repairs and will bring my car there with confidence. And highly recommend you all doing the same. Thank you Chris!!! Great place for a tire change! I needed to swap the Ag tires on my tractor for HDAP and I had already purchased the tires. I went to Butler and they took care of me right after I arrived. They were fast and did great work. The price was reasonable as well. The reason I brought my tires here was that I thought that the tires would be difficult to install myself and it turns out I was right. Even though they were difficult for the techs at Butler they were able to get them mounted quickly. read more

Today, February 22, 2013 I called Butler Tire service looking for a used tire. My vehicle has over 200,000 miles on it so I preferred to get a used tire. A female employee answered the phone and I told her what sized tire I was looking for. She told me she would find out and give me a call back. She took my number down and she was nice to deal with. It was 11:10 AM. At 1:07 PM, after not hearing back from anyone, I called back. This time I spoke to a male employee that let me know the guy who was going to check on my tire had gone to lunch and as soon as he got back he would check what brand it was, condition and let me know. I asked him if he knew whether or not there was my size tire there and he told me there was only one. I told him great, that's all I need. He did not have my phone number so I gave it again. Still not hearing back from anyone at 4:30 PM I called again and asked for the manager. The man who answered the phone, saying his name was Ryan, said he was the manager. I told him my situation and he put me on hold for a moment. He came back to the phone and told me they did not have the tire in stock. I told him how frustrated I was and he didn't even apologize. He told me "we got busy". I let him know that if he is the manager there he sure needs to get things together and he told me he would talk to the people I had dealt with. NO apologies, no possible solution, nothing. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. They had me sitting around for over 5 hours, since they confirmed there was a tire there for me, and then this happens. What a complete and utter joke of a business. PLEASE, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO, DON"T USE BUTLER TIRE SERVICE! You would be better off walking than dealing with this group of idiots. I will never call them again and will be sure let every last person I know in this area the ridiculous, irresponsible, uncaring, people that I dealt with at BUTLER TIRE SERVICE. I have never done a yelp in my life and am a 41 year old professional. I hope all that read this take my advice. If not they will regret it, seriously. The icing on the cake is that "Ryan", the man who calls himself a "Manager", didn't even apologize for what had occurred to me. He seemed to care less.
