Happened to find the store while my mom wanted food from the local next door, I'm so glad I got food from here instead. I'm a huge burrito lover so I got the Lone star burrito (I think that's what it's called) Let me tell you I was starving it was soo good. This place reminds me of home!! Their fish taco plate takes me back to San Diego every...single...time. Food: My husband had their Aztec and kids had the California burrito. My son asked "is their fries in this?!?" Yes, yes there is with Carne Asada (like Nana's house).The food was flavorful, filling and warm when we got home (20 minute drive). ok, so we moved here from California just over 1 1/2 years ago and haven't found any good Mexican food. This place is authentic Cali-Mex, owner is from San Diego. he makes Carne asada burritos etc. so good and the burritos are HUGE. He makes "rolled tacos'" just like back home. Everything from this place is amazing! I recommend getting a large horchata with any entree you order. They make the horchata from scratch and with one sip you are sure to be in heaven. Went through the drive thru, food was hot and fresh! I have been searching for a place that serves real California burritos, with the right ingredients! I ended up ordering carne asada fries instead of the burrito since the California burrito said it came with grilled steak (not carne asada) not sure if they're considering them the same, but either way, the food was delicious. I feel like if there were some tweaks it could be really good. First there was no AC so it was hot af in the restaurant. Second, guacamole. Places should only be allowed to serve fresh made guac. It was runny and had so much of a citrus flavor that's all I could taste, like it was made a day or two in advance. Third, the fish on the fish tacos. I was really hoping for a delicious fish taco but my fish was over cooked, fatty and tough. I couldn't even eat it. I wish I would've taken a pic because it didn't even look appetizing at all. Kind of easy to miss since it faces north for northbound traffic on Kuykendahl Rd. It also has a drive thru, which is unusual for a burrito and taco restaurant in the fast casual category. This is my first time ordering from them. I got two specialty burritos, an al pastor taco, and a caramel churro to go. Unfortunately, I was delayed heading home 30 minutes away, so I wasn't able to eat at the peak of warmth. The burritos have garlic rice, not Mexican rice, so that's the most noticeable difference between north Mexican cuisine and Baja-Cali Mexican food. One of my burritos had beer battered Alaskan pollock fish, which I've never had in a burrito before. Pretty good! The Al pastor taco was excellent! I'd go back just for that. The churro was delicious. I might have been talking to the owner and he was very friendly. My biggest knock on the place is that I would likely not want to dine in. I'm not a fan of sitting on metal barstools for more than a few minutes. I think that it could get loud easily too. Otherwise, I would give this 5 stars. I've been driving past this burrito place as it's been under construction the past good couple or so months. And seeing a burrito spot under construction so close to my house got me really really excited. Because finally a burrito spot is within five minutes of my house and there's a wine bar right next door. Freaking amazing idea man like 10/10 idk who's idea it was but y'all are my people. So you can see that I'm juiced to go here once it's finally open right. I go thru the drive thru and order me a California burrito. Finally the moment that my body had been so desperately yearning for had finally arrived. I get the burrito in hand and it feels like it's got some heft to it (not quite as hefty as a chipotle burrito tho) excitedly I rip the foil off much like a child opening a PlayStation on Christmas morning. And finally there it is. I take a bite and suddenly my PlayStation had turned into some hand me down socks. Instead of these beautiful burrito I was expecting I get this meh burrito. Would I be wrong to call it bad? Or gross? Yes, but to call it delicious? No. Or scrumptious? No. Satisfying? Kinda (even a meh burrito is still a burrito like cmon man) but needless to say it was disappointing. It was semi luke warm with unmelted cheese and just meh all around. Their chips were fire but their salsa was watery & had no flavor. I'm sad that what I had been looking forward to for so long was so mediocre but such is life. TLDR; It's a meh burrito place with bland salsa. Big disappointment. read more

Mannnnnn where do I start? I got the California burrito and that thing was MASSIVE!! Fries on the inside were super crunchy! Steak was super moist. You could tell the pico and salsas are made fresh, along with their tortillas. You get a side of chips with your burrito and they were SUPER fresh. I also got a Jaimica agua Fresca. Decided to check this place out today after hearing about it from Nick Rama's Facebook group. The food was AMAZING ! We ordered a few different things to taste them and everything we ordered was delicious. Whomever was there working (male with glasses) has amazing customer service as well - he was running around like crazy but was super attentive and thanked everyone for coming in. The manager and owner were really nice and welcoming, and the dining room was very clean. They also have a drive thru and military discount. Serves breakfast (10-11am), lunch and dinner.
