I'm giving Tacos Santos a solid 3 out of 5--not because it was bad, but because my expectations were a bit off. I went in expecting more traditional street-style tacos, and I have to remind myself that different regions of Mexico do things differently. No issue with that at all--just a mismatch of what I was craving at the time. I ordered the beef tacos, and they did come loaded with a lot of toppings. They were fairly good, just not what I personally wanted in that moment. The tacos were pretty heavy, and the corn tortillas ended up breaking, which made them a bit messy to eat. My husband ordered the carne asada quesadilla, and that was honestly the standout--huge, super flavorful, and definitely shareable. We also got plain fries, which were fine, but in hindsight, as a Yelper, I probably should've ordered one of their most popular or highly recommended dishes (like the carne asada fries, which I'm still curious about). The place was pretty busy when we went, which is always a good sign. Prices were a little on the higher side, but that's understandable with everything going up these days. We tried their lemonade--it was very sweet, but refreshing. The hot sauce was also good and added nice flavor. Now, the real highlight: the churros. Absolutely phenomenal. Freshly made, perfectly cooked, and not stuffed--just simple and delicious. Honestly, I'd go back just for the churros and the quesadilla alone. Overall, it was good for what it was. If we go back, I'll definitely try the carne asada fries next time and stick to what they really shine at.

Delicious tacos! Very good flavor fajitas and the sausage tacos! Cute little spot that just opened up. Clean, small but plenty of tables. Staff is nice and bilingual. They have agua frescas! Music is poppin. I felt like I was in a taco spot in Mexico.

Recently found this taco shop (thanks to Yelp) and what caught my eye was the pictures of the food; the guac on top! I've seen so many people in NYC having tacos this was and was extremely excited to finally be able to try a taco like this in Houston. The beef taco was good, but the chicken taco stole the show. Extremely juicy. Pro tip: eat these tacos fast. They get soggy fast. The quasdullia was ok. A lot of fat. Customer service was also great and the place was clean!

Ooh, as I'm sitting at a red light I look ever to my left and what do I see? A new Tijuana style taco shop. Detour. When you enter, the place is decorated in vibrant colors and is very clean. Alejandro Fernandez was blaring on the speakers...I thought, "this place has potential." I browsed the simple menu and elected to order a burrito and a taco. For my visit, it took a bit of time for the food to come out. Understandable when it's made fresh. The adobada taco came out first. It was literally overflowing - my fingers got filthy. Flavor wise, it was totally on point. The asada burrito took a few minutes longer but it didn't matter. After I took the first bite, I would have waited for however long it took. This thing was beyond delicious. The seasoning was perfect, the asada just meshed with everything else in the burrito. I usually like to sample the menu, but I may be locked in on the burrito during future visits. As Rose told Jack in Titanic, "I'll never let go." This place is seriously legit! Can't wait to come back!

I had a full day to study after a final so I thought it was a good opportunity to try a place that was farther than normal. I drove all the way to spring to try Tacos Santos. They serve Tijuana style tacos. I tried both their asada (steak) and adobada (marinated pork) tacos. I got them "con todo," which includes onion, cilantro, and guacamole. It also comes with some radishes and cucumbers. They have a green and orange salsa. The green salsa has a tiny kick to it but it really isn't that spicy. The orange one is a lot spicier. The meat is well seasoned and I liked the guacamole, but I thought the meat could've been a little more tender. This is a nice alternative from the traditional street tacos though

Amazing legit tacos! Service was quick, affordable, and absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back whenever I am in town. Plenty of parking in front of the restaurant.

pretty good & fast service but i will say that the tortilla rips easily, and the fries tasted like any frozen fries you can get at the store. i liked the mushroom tacos but i wish it had flavoring to it because it tasted plain given that it's the only vegetarian option. also, would have enjoyed if there were rice and beans added as sides to the menu or in their burritos! overall good but there are better taco spots

These Tacos are legit. The Asada is really flavorful and the tortillas are home made. The tacos are on the bigger side too. They're really generous with the meat. We also had a torta and it had cheese on it that was melted on the griddle. So good! It's nice having a good taco spot on this side of town. Go check them out!

Think classic taqueria! We love Santos. My husband has come here a ton of times and finally got me to come today and it did not disappoint. We got asada and adobada tacos and they were amazing. My favorite part is the tortilla - handmade and it TASTES like it. Sooooo good, soft, doesn't fall apart, doesn't take over flavor but still flavorful. We will be back many times.

To be fair, it is my own fault because I tried El Mariachi a year or two ago and thought it was gross then. However, I know everywhere deserves a second chance so I thought I'd give it another try, especially when I saw it had such a high average rating. Let me first say, service is INCREDIBLE. Truly could not ask for better. The hostess was really sweet and she stayed kind even when I could tell she was overwhelmed by all the people. We had multiple servers come by to check on us at various times and do things for us and they were all great too. Absolutely 0 staff complaints. I ordered a watermelon margarita and couldn't drink it. The syrup was completely separated from the actual drink. I left it completely full and while I didn't want to complain, I was surprised that I wasn't asked if it was okay. Had I been asked, I would've told them. My husband thought his house margarita was good, but he did order it frozen and it was already half liquid by the time he got it. The food was not good. I took one bite of my beef taco and pushed it to the side. It was essentially Taco Bell meat. No shade to Taco Bell, but if I wanted that, I would've just gone to T Bell. It sure would've been a lot cheaper. My cheese enchiladas were also not good. I asked to have sour cream sauce on top & was charged $2 for it. I wasn't told I'd be charged extra and didn't see anywhere on the menu where it said that. Even so, $2 for sauce is crazy, but $2 for sauce when the enchilada ALREADY comes with sauce on top and all you had to do was replace it?? Wild. The queso was okay. Not amazing, not bad. It's the only thing I was able to eat. Not my personal experience, but two tables in our same section had issues with their food too and had to send it back. $85 for that is crazy. I'm glad so many seem to enjoy it, but El Mariachi will never see me again.

TLDR: Thar food, those ritas. This place has become my most recent go-to when that little voice says - "pssst....Dave....Dave....i know you hear me....you want fajitas." Admittedly, I hear that voice a lot. In any case, I usually order the fajitas. They give you a decent quantity that tastes great. The meet is tender and flavorful and those tortillas had me at hello. I love this stuff! My son elects to go for the cheese enchiladas. I don't have to ask him how much he likes them because is a super picky eater and this is the one place where he actually cleans his plate. The margaritas are solid as well and when you glance around the restaurant, you'll see them on most tables. This place is a well oiled machine. There are plenty of staff and they all work unison to bring drinks / chips / salsa / refills / orders / food -- and that food usually comes out before I can feel guilty for eating chips, salsa, and queso. I found this trick that works for me. Since I 100% of the time feel guilty for leaving the place feeling so full, I started parking on the other end of the parking lot. This allows my to burn off 2.7 calories of the food that just ate so I feel 2.7 percent less guilty. On a serious note - this place is the real deal. While some of my previous favorites have either closed down or gone downhill a bit - Julio's has remained strong. ¡Salud!
