I ordered the asada burrito con todo (cheese, beans, onions, cilantro, salsa, and guacamole. I got the guac on the side). The asada was juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. Every bite was balanced and packed with flavor. Nothing was dry or bland. I also got an asada taco con todo (salsa, onions, cilantro, guacamole (and of course I added cheese ). Simple ingredients, but when it's done right like this, you really don't need much else. The meat truly speaks for itself. What really stood out to me was that this tasted like true Tijuana-style flavor, not heavy Tex-Mex. You can absolutely taste the difference. Customer service was great. The staff was friendly, efficient, and made the ordering process smooth. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, which I always appreciate. It made the overall experience even better. This restaurant is kind of small but everything I tried was really good. I ordered the pork taco, steak vampiro, steak quesadilla and Jamaica. The price was decent....and food came out pretty quickly. They even have a kiosk to order if you already know what you want or need to add extras and there is a line at the register after you ordered. I'm giving Tacos Santos a solid 3 out of 5--not because it was bad, but because my expectations were a bit off. I went in expecting more traditional street-style tacos, and I have to remind myself that different regions of Mexico do things differently. No issue with that at all--just a mismatch of what I was craving at the time. I ordered the beef tacos, and they did come loaded with a lot of toppings. They were fairly good, just not what I personally wanted in that moment. The tacos were pretty heavy, and the corn tortillas ended up breaking, which made them a bit messy to eat. My husband ordered the carne asada quesadilla, and that was honestly the standout--huge, super flavorful, and definitely shareable. We also got plain fries, which were fine, but in hindsight, as a Yelper, I probably should've ordered one of their most popular or highly recommended dishes (like the carne asada fries, which I'm still curious about). The place was pretty busy when we went, which is always a good sign. Prices were a little on the higher side, but that's understandable with everything going up these days. We tried their lemonade--it was very sweet, but refreshing. The hot sauce was also good and added nice flavor. Now, the real highlight: the churros. Absolutely phenomenal. Freshly made, perfectly cooked, and not stuffed--just simple and delicious. Honestly, I'd go back just for the churros and the quesadilla alone. Overall, it was good for what it was. Recently found this taco shop (thanks to Yelp) and what caught my eye was the pictures of the food; the guac on top! I've seen so many people in NYC having tacos this was and was extremely excited to finally be able to try a taco like this in Houston. The beef taco was good, but the chicken taco stole the show. I had a full day to study after a final so I thought it was a good opportunity to try a place that was farther than normal. I drove all the way to spring to try Tacos Santos. They serve Tijuana style tacos. I tried both their asada (steak) and adobada (marinated pork) tacos. I got them "con todo," which includes onion, cilantro, and guacamole. It also comes with some radishes and cucumbers. They have a green and orange salsa. The green salsa has a tiny kick to it but it really isn't that spicy. The orange one is a lot spicier. Ooh, as I'm sitting at a red light I look ever to my left and what do I see? A new Tijuana style taco shop. Detour. When you enter, the place is decorated in vibrant colors and is very clean. Alejandro Fernandez was blaring on the speakers...I thought, "this place has potential." I browsed the simple menu and elected to order a burrito and a taco. For my visit, it took a bit of time for the food to come out. Understandable when it's made fresh. The adobada taco came out first. It was literally overflowing - my fingers got filthy. Flavor wise, it was totally on point. The asada burrito took a few minutes longer but it didn't matter. After I took the first bite, I would have waited for however long it took. This thing was beyond delicious. The seasoning was perfect, the asada just meshed with everything else in the burrito. I usually like to sample the menu, but I may be locked in on the burrito during future visits. As Rose told Jack in Titanic, "I'll never let go." This place is seriously legit! I've been here a few times and every time the tacos are a hit. The tacos are big and the salsa is spicy. If you can't handle heat do not have the red sauce. The green salsa is very tasty as well. I like the beef tacos, they have a ton of flavor. The Al pastor is pretty good. This latest time I got the carne asada fries and they were good but I think I'll stick to the tacos. I've seen this cafe when going to the dentist next door, but I never seem to think about it unless I'm in front of the cafe. Today I just happened to be looking for a late lunch place and saw the open sign on (according to the hours on Yelp they don't open until 5:00pm) and it was just before 3:00pm. Immediately I was put off by being pointed to the self order register - what's the point of a self order if an employee is paid to stand over it? My order was for take out, so I couldn't wait to get home (I love nearby), and see what was different about Tiajiana style tacos. The pollo taco all the way was filled with lots of chicken and guac, and slices of cucumber and radish on the side. Presentation wise was meh - it was oddly sitting in a wad of paper - not bad, just odd. Wow! My first taste all I could taste was guac because the small taco was overfilled with chicken and guac. This is the reason for the higher marks - it was tasty and had a great flavor combo with lime just hinting at being there. Good job. The same could not be said for the chicken, however. I hate it when people think they have to load salt onto a product to make it good. That's what seasonings are for. There was so much salt it was all I could do to eat it. I also ordered a vampiro (there are no descriptions what makes the difference in a mulitas and a vampiros and the pics didn't help), so I'm assuming I got what I ordered. It looked interesting - like a pollo tostada with another tostada shell on top. The top was not exactly crunchy - it was harder than that but still broke somewhat. The bottom was soggy, but I expected that even though I love close by. It had the exact same ingredients as the taco and the same sides, and unfortunately way too salty as well. I scooped away the chicken and used the top shell to eat the guac with, and I ate the sides. The price wasn't unreasonable - and both items had way more chicken than one would expect. The problem though was it was so salted the flavor of the chicken and other items was lost. They have a few booths and tables, and a nice inside for a small cafe space. To prepare the meal took less than 10 minutes. Even though I said this is my first time there, the only thing the employee said was enter your order, so not much observation that a customer might be in need of help - but, since it's self order I guess that's to be expected. I won't go back for a while for that issue alone. I would like to try the quesabirrias since I like burrias, but not at the risk of the money and chancing that everything is salt soaked. You never learn if you like a place new to you or not unless you tried it. Hopefully others who go will have better experiences with assistance from employees and much better experiences with the food than I had today. I'll go back, but not fo a while. Maybe after some time has passed a different cook will be there and a different ... not sure what the employee would be called: she's not a host, doesn't help the customer, and not a cashier... so what? Oh, their self serve register also doesn't accept Apple Pay. It's a good thing I happened to have had my credit card - I don't usually carry it now - so be aware that you'll need a physical credit card. read more

These Tacos are legit. The Asada is really flavorful and the tortillas are home made. The tacos are on the bigger side too. They're really generous with the meat. We also had a torta and it had cheese on it that was melted on the griddle. So good! It's nice having a good taco spot on this side of town. Go check them out! read more

I ordered 6 tacos 4 asada 2 chorizo. Tortilla sucks!!! Soggy to the core. I grabbed my taco and the tortilla broke ruining my food. They should sell salads if they have soggy tortillas smh. Either you guys drain your meat from its juicy ness and don't put salsa on it at all. Gotta get a better tortilla. The chorizo meat wasn't cooked well at all you guys are rushing and caring for quantity instead of quality. The chorizo sucks y'all need to cook it more. Service was good. Ordered a chips and guacamole and it was only a handful of chips and a tiny little cup for guacamole. Adobada didn't even taste like it. It was more like grilled chicken? I'm not sure. Have ordered their tacos, both beef and chicken, several times. Their grilled meat is very flavorful. I wish they offered flour tortillas like they show in their videos on the TV's on the walls, but nope - only corn. Overall, have been satisfied, except the last time. First, the price had increased slightly, understood and in line with all recent food costs, however, the quantity of meat in the tacos seemed to have decreased. Also, asked for the condiments to be on the side, and they forgot to include the guacamole. I'll give them a couple more chances to re-impress me before I seek out other street taco places. read more
