Tried Combo #2 with the "Insane Hot" flavor along with So-tteok So-tteok and Chi-tteok Chi-tteok, and everything was really satisfying. The chicken strips were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and I liked that they used chicken breast so it didn't feel too greasy. Eating the hot chicken with kimchi was actually a great combo, the tangy kimchi balanced the heat really well. The fries portion was generous, and the whole meal felt filling. The So-tteok So-tteok and Chi-tteok Chi-tteok were also great, the sweet and spicy sauce with the chewy rice cakes, sausage, and chicken reminded me of Korean street food back home. I tried combo #1 (coo coo sando) and combo #2 (chick strips). Let me tell you, the chicken strips are so convenient to eat since the shape is like a mozzarella stick (but way larger). Really good especially for the price! Crispy chicken and good flavor even with the spice! They allow different spice levels, and have different types of options I have never seen before. Like a bowl with bulgogi and spicy crispy chicken, you could get a sweet and spicy chicken glaze bowl. They give you tons of fries. It was super filling and you will have leftovers haha. Service wise it get's pretty busy cause it's in the food court at the mall. They only seemed to have two people working buttt the food came out faster then expected. Also I didn't like this area only cause on a Saturday it was pretty difficult to find a spot to sit so I suggest doing that while you wait for your food haha. Tried the #3, if I'm remembering correctly: popcorn chicken pieces, over rice, with fries and slaw. As a fusion of hot chicken meeting Hawaiian bbq, this place was fine. The portions were good for mall food. Everything can easily cost $20 these days at the food court. It didn't feel like I got less than what an inflated meal can yield. The zesty buffalo sauce and crispy onions on the chicken helped some but I was given a lot of plain, minute-tasting rice underneath. The very middle of the entree portion had something akin to soy sauce underneath so if I'm feeling like giving another entree a try, I'll know to give the protein and rice a decent mixing before digging in. The fries were alright - just wish I got more of a fresh batch with my plate. The slaw was probably the most flavorful component. Not too sweet, nor savory, and tasted like it was made in house. I think this worked as a passable alternative to the usual mall food fare. There usually is a non-brand chicken spot next to Panda Express and Charleys Cheesesteaks. Outside of the mall, you could probably do a lot better, but Burnin' Mouth feels like an adequate pathway to changing things up a little after you've worked up an appetite from shopping. read more

Where do I start...This was not exactly what I expected. Living in the LA area, there are a lot of choices for "Nashville" hot chicken and sorry to say that Dave's is still at the top of the list. I decided to get the Coo Coo Sando with Ugly sauce. I'll admit that there was a nice, large piece of chicken but there was really no flavor to it. The sandwich was swimming in the comeback sauce which killed any heat, if any. The slaw had way too much liquid in it. If you put it all together, the Coo Coo Sando was not that good. They did give a nice portion of fries and the box was big enough to fit the sandwich and fries. The place was dirty with flour all over the counter and floor and I was probably going to walk out after seeing this but I wanted to give them a shot. This was my first visit and forever the last visit. I ordered the popcorn chicken (#10). My first impression was that it looks absolutely nothing like the picture, which is what lured me there. Also, for the price ($12.99), it was a very small portion. I thought if it looked anything like the picture and tasted great, it would be worth it. You get a small chopped up tenderloin that's flavorless, barely battered, barely seasoned, and excessively fried and overcooked till it's dry like rubber, with the side of only a handful of seasoned fries, which was the only thing I managed to finish. You also get a small half-filled side of their house sauce, which is very watered down. Mind you, chicken and potatoes are probably the cheapest thing a restaurant can sell you, so they easily have over 900% markup here. I agree with other reviews and would say it's better than Dave's hot chicken, and comparable to howling rays (without the long lines ofc) I got the bang bang combo with sweet chili, and it was the sauce that I think makes this place stand out to its competitors. It's a mixture of Nashville and Asian flavors that work perfectly together, and is exactly what the chicken sando scene in LA was missing!
