No complaints with the customer service if I need to return something, and the lines are never too long. If you're reading this before January 3, 2026, everything must go so stop in to see they have anything while everything is an additional 30% off. This is their last week at this location.

Home to some of the best beer selection around at Fenwick (retail) and Quarry House Tavern. Originally home to Denizens and Astro Lab and now Third Hill and Silver Branch. Four groceries stores as well make it far from a food desert. Multiple healthcare providers as well especially in Montgomery building. Pride, Jazz, and global festivals as well as a weekly farmers market on Saturday are nice as well. Housing options that have continued to expand tend to be more affordable than DC, Arlington, Tysons, Bethesda, and Rockville.

I also find the uniqueness of the space appealing. My coworkers down here told me that this use to be a department store at one point and then it got redone into what is essentially an urban mall now. One that I personally think works. Parking is fairly easy here. You can do street (if you can find a spot) or the parking garage across the street. Depending on the floor you park on in the garage you have two options to enter Ellsworth. You can take the footbridge which will take you to the fourth floor of the mall, or you can go street level and cross the street. One inside it is a bit of a maze to find where you want to go. My tip here is to start on the bottom and make your way to the top. If you are a discount store shopper than this is the place for you. You can hop from TJ Maxx to Marshalls, than onto Ross's and Burlington. Throw in some Five Below and DSW and you probably just found an outfit for far less than going to a department store. I don't know what this was like before I moved down here, but it looks like it is in bit of a transition. The shoe store on the one level was on its way out and there appeared to be a storefront that was having work done on the inside. Food options inside aren't the best, but at least there are some. Honestly, with the proximity of this place, there are a lot of options just right outside too.

But, more importantly there were so many senior citizens with different handicaps standing and waiting in these long lines. You would have thought that it was the end of the world. I inquired from a staff member what was going on. They explained that they have a new computer system and have been waiting for the IT department to come and get it fully operational since last Wednesday (10/7). Are you kidding me? So, you are telling me that this billion-dollar corporation can't get IT people out to fix a new system you choose to implement. Along with fixing the elevators and escalators for those who are handicapped? This is unacceptable. But they do have the throwback toys for my generation now coming back out. With that itch scratched, I move onto their 'backstage' area. If I remember correctly, they had a massive section dedicated to the clearance here. It kind of sprawled out everywhere. If you want to browse this section, you will need a little time. Tip for this section, get your phone out, use the Macy's app, and scan the items yourself. That way, if there is an updated price you won't need to find a price checker or be surprised at the register. But also be wary of the items in this section. I swear either customers are dropping non clearance items here, or the employees are throwing in items that they only have one or a few left of. Some of the items in this section are not on clearance. I mean, I almost bought a high tech toaster because I though it was on clearance, but with the app I found out otherwise. No way am I paying over $100 for a toaster. I did lose track of time in here because I went through the backstage area with a fine toothed comb. I did score a few items on the cheap this way.
