Was recently in the store to look for shirts 2XLT sized men's wear. Many of the racks are marked Big and Tall. Most of the shirts for men under 6'1". It was extremely difficult to find the tall shirts without looking at each shirt for a 2XLT. So frustrating I'd rather just shop online. Rest of the store seems fine. read more

9 months pregnant and browsing, I saw the most killer deal here on a double stroller. Prices are usually good, but sometimes they are GREAT!!! I needed assistance getting the item and putting it into my car in the rain. Of course I forgot all my other items and had to call the store to hold it for me until tomorrow. Of course I even called back to check and see if there were more double strollers because all my friends wanted in on this amazing deal. Every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, didn't keep me waiting (in person or on the phone), and over and above hospitable to make my experience a positive one. Clothes are packed too tightly together on racks. Great deals tho! Could spend A Lot of $$ in this store. Clerk at check out very helpful...a sweatsuit was mismatched and she caught it for me. "Don't bother me, I'm shopping" I love this store, I like to come here when I have nothing to do and look through every rack, I spent 3 hours here just looking and shopping, I found nice DKNY clothes and even a Michael Kors Polo for $10 bucks, and a Michael Kors bag for my mom, good stuff, I love that the staff doesn't bother you and let you shop in peace. read more

The Baby Depot there is awesome! I bought most of my baby gear there. They have everything from maternity clothes to bottles, travel systems to swings etc and baby clothes, of course. They carry nice name brands and the prices are great. Large items are only a little more expensive than a local consignment store. Staff are hard to come by but there is a gentleman (don't know his name) that normally works in that section; he is very helpful and will heavy items out for you. Go there first before you even think about BabiesRus because Burlington is about a quarter of the price. read more

Let me start off by saying that I absolutely love Burlington! However this location is extremely disappointing. They have a non working elevator and I am not handicapped however it seems somewhat degrading to put someone on a lift to access the second floor. It's extremely difficult to get a stroller on the escalator and they don't allow shopping carts upstairs (if you can even find one) and the upstairs is home & baby which equals large items. The women's clothing is very sparse. However they have a great selection of baby Items for both genders. The home section is okay at best. Downstairs there is a great selection of men's clothing and I was pleasantly surprised by their beauty section. You really can find some great deals sometimes but it might be worth it to go somewhere else if you are pressed for time do to extremely long lines with extremely slow cashiers. I forgot to mention the bathrooms are in a construction zone in an unfinished area of the store. I go here because it's within walking distance of my residence. However I would rather go to the location in national city. I highly recommend not bringing small children to this location due to the inconvenience of a non working elevator and the escalator hardly ever works either. read more

This particular location has THEE WORST customer service EVER!! I went there yesterday around 2pm. I found things I wanted to buy although they were more "picked over" than other Burlington's. When I got to the line I was like the 15th in line and there were only 3 cashiers open. I started talking to a customer in line in front of me about the service. He said they are always short on cashiers and that he asked for a job application. They told him they were not hiring!! When one of the 3 cashiers closed and another didn't take her place I asked why. She said it was her lunch. I got out of line to look for the manager. Mind you I wasn't upset, I just wanted to ask for another cashier. This one cashier said he was the supervisor and held up his hand and asked if I would wait for him to finish up with a customer. I said sure. Then he stopped helping his customer and answered the phone!! As I was waiting I saw a couple of employees in the office talking and enjoying themselves. When Mr Supervisor finally got off the phone I asked why would a cashier leave without a replacement with such a long line. He yelled at me!! He said she has to go to Lunch, it's the law!! I told him to calm down I wasn't attacking him I just asked why couldn't more people come out to assist. He said he had no one!! I was shocked so I put my merchandise down and left. This is NO way to treat paying customers. Why can't employees stop laughing in an office and assist when there is a long line? People want to GIVE you money!! I went into this location the other day to help my boyfriend find a business suit. My boyfriend went in to one of the dressing rooms to try on the suits, they were all a mess with clothes, hangers, and trash. So when the gentleman that was in the much larger handicaped dressing room came out, I told my boyfriend, assuming he would like it better because there was a lot more room. When I started to help him move suits into the larger dressing room the women working in the mend department at the time walked in the dressing room and said rudely "what are you doing?!" I explained that I was just helping my boyfriend move the suits to the dressing room she then walked into the dressing room where my boyfriend had previously been looking around asking "what's wrong with this one?!" after she picked up numerous tags off the ground she walked into the larger dressing room my boyfriend was now in, while he was in there, looking around at all the clothes! after she was done harassing us she left the dressing rooms not caring about the mess in any of the other ones. At the time this happened there was no one in the dressing rooms so I have no idea why she was making such a big deal out of him wanting to move rooms. I continued to stand outside the dressing rooms waiting for my boyfriend to be done and every time he would open the door to show me something she would come running over. I felt like she was assuming we were shop lifting! No lady, no one is going to steal a full suit. On the bright side we did find a suit, and our cashier was excellent. We also had spoke to him the last time we came in. He is always very helpful and polite. There have a large variety of dress shirts for men at a great price, but beware of the womens section, its always a mess! read more

Wow, this place is amazing, and what a secret! It's like a Ross, but a little nicer, twice the size, more selection, including big household section and coats too. Keeping the place in order was inconsistent, e.g. women's clothing section was well organized, but linens were a mess! Check out line was a little slow. Don't expect customer service here! On January 2011, I went there to return a pair of boots. I had my receipt and it was only three days old. The first girl (african american) didn't accept my return & had someone else checked the item for approval. The second girl (mexican) too didn't approve it. Finally the manager (third person), which was a guy (caucasian) approved it for me because I had the receipt and the purchase was not old. It had upset the two girls because he approved it and made them do the return for me. During the process of refund the two girls whisper in front of me about false item return and damages etc. to pissed me off. Talking smack in front of a customer (me) is very unprofessional and they should be fired for that! I'm glad that I was the victor to this stupid fight from these girls. If they weren't so bitchy about their miserable job, I would of did a exchange. Even since then, I have not gone back to that ghetto workers store. This place is great but I was very disappointed by the customer service today. I was late to work and I purchased a tie that did not have a tag, that matched my shirt ext. Instead of making it average and charge me appropriate amount for my car, she kept wasting my time checking every single thing in my bag. I have over $1000 in my pocket, I felt discriminated like I was going to steal or something. The customer service here seems like they have no power to take action and keep the customer exprience better. The lost me today, I will never go shop here again. I might try it one more time, if you don't fix this type of experience, I will not spend my money and get treated like a criminal for something that is under $10. read more

This store just lost a potential customer. There was a woman pan-handling in the parking lot. Going as far as knocking on the car windows when patrons parked before going into Burlington. I reported this to a manager and she told me it wasn't their problem but the landlords who she has called the day before. She didn't care that this person was bothering her customers, just sat in her chair, didn't have the manners to get off her butt to speak to me, let alone send someone to tell the person to leave. Obviously she doesn't care about her customers, I will NEVER go in this store and will tell my friends to stay away. They don't care about customers. read more

If I could give a negative -100 stars I would this place is the worst ever, I live in La Mesa and I hardly ever frequent this place. However 2weeks ago I decided to stop by only to be appalled on how I was treated, it all started with I accidently took a blouse inside the restroom when I needed to change my baby's diaper I was immediately approached by one of the staff members and they took it out and the staff member said she would leave it outside for me, of course that didn't happen since I might have stolen the 8.99 blouse (at least that's the impression I got that the staff member had with me). Then before paying our items we decide to try them on, my friend asked me for assistance to pull a zipper up on a dress and so I went in the same dressing room as her, oh for my delight when we were done who is to be outside the dressing stalls "security", we ended up only taking a few things but I the whole time I was there I felt as if they were keeping an eye on us which to me almost felt as HARASSMENT. After paying for our items and we walked out MIGHT I SAY the alarm didn't go OFF ( therefore this is TRUE we didn't talk any of you cheap items with out paying for them) about 2 or 3 team members were pointing at us obviously talking about us. I will NEVER shop at this corp. again. I hate to believe that what happened to me was myself being discriminated against by my race (I'm a 23 y/o white woman), but I'm taking it how it happened, and after I told friends what happened they agreed. And please forgive how anything may come across when I tell the story. On 4/18 I went into this location during my lunch break to browse around a little. I picked out a few pieces of clothing and went to the fitting room. I stood there for about 2 minute while the older, African American lady gave me dirty looks and kept doing whatever she was doing. I eventually asked her if she works there. No reply, just a dirty look and she walked away. I asked if I could try on my pieces, she huffed, rolled her eyes, and pointed to the sign above that read "6items or less" (I probably had 12 items). I said okay, no problem and started separating into 2 piles. I asked if there was a place where I could put the second pile. She responded again with rude looks, this time mumbling under her breath and points to the sign. I said ok, where can I put these while I try on these. As I was trying to question her a couple (both African American) came up to the fitting room where the employee was overly nice to them. Saying "oh hello! I don't need to count you items, any room is fine for you" and she walks the lady to the back. So I ask "any room is fine for me too?" She AGAIN replies with rolled eyes, rude comments, looks at my 6 times, points to the sign and says "I said you can only take 6. Damn" I said again. "I understand this is 6 I hung the other 6 on your rack, any room is fine for me" she doesn't comment so I walk back. As another African American lady walks up and she does the same overly nice act towards her, ensuring that I hear her. After I'm done trying on my first set I take out the things I do not want to exchange them for the left over pieces. Mind you, I did not take the time to hang them up after how rude she was. I ask her where I could put these and she looks at me with a glare on her face and says rudely "you can hang those up!!" I said "excuse me?" She says "you need to put those back on the hangers and put them back where ever you found them" I said "I'm sorry??" She said "hang them up!! You're so lazy. Wtf" I said "well isn't that your job?" And put them in her basket. After I'm done trying on the second set, I still don't hang my items. I walk out where she is commented rude remarks to m and I ask for her manager. And her name which she wouldn't give. I find her manager who wasn't much better or any more pleasant that she was and she said sorry. The employees name is Gerry. The manager said that Gerry isn't normally like that which doesn't make me feel any better. She's not normally like that but chose me to be extremely disrespectful towards? I spend 45 minutes of my lunch hour in there, only to be treated that way? I was so humiliated and embarrassed. I know I forgot bits and details of the story. Today I went to the Burlington Coat Factory hoping to find some deals. what a waste of time and gas. It looked like a huge garage sale. Many items were either torn or snagged and many items did not have a price-tag. There were no size 0 petites. I went upstairs to the shoe department looking for a pair of boots. Buyer beware! Even with a receipt that shows you paid full price, you will only get a store credit for the current value of the item you return after 30 days. I purchased a blouse as a gift and when I tried to return it (too small), I was offered a store credit for HALF the price I paid. The blouse was in perfect condition with all of its tags. This is an understandable policy if you DON'T have a receipt, but I've never been docked on a store credit just because the store decided to lower their price. Burlington just wants your money, not your repeat business. Shop at Marshall's or Ross where you are valued as a customer. read more

Talk about getting a lot of good finds. I like to consider it like a department store/thrift store. Lots of good prices, but sometimes you have to look. As far as things for kids though..really easy. And their baby sets are awesome. $20 for sets of shirts, pants, and jackets. I tell you when my daughter was a baby, she was best dressed. At least they finally got the organization under control. Used to have boxes of miscellaneous merchandise shoved under the racks of clothes. Keep up the good work! read more
