The store was pretty vibrant with customers also and that was good to see for a good 'ol fashioned brick-and-mortar store. It's also a bright, clean, neat, and airy store. I ended up buying a pair of Brooks gym shoes and Macy's athletic shoe supply is provided these days by Finish Line, an affiliated vendor to Macy's. I'm also excited to try the well regarded Brooks brand as I have never done so in some 70 years of gym shoe wear lol. I was helped by a friendly young lady named Valerie and it was refreshing to have someone bring out some selections with the right sizes etc, and it nicely felt like the good old days before AI and useless chat-bots. As for the mall itself there's plenty to look at. The location is located close to major highways and there's bus routes. Has a lot of impact on the local economy. It opened in 1971 by the Taubman Company and is now owned by Simon. Has a few main anchors. There's currently JC Penney, Macy's, Nordstrom, and Primark. Has a couple of floors. On the first floor is Ben And Jerry's, Crocs, Express, Hollister, Starbucks, and TCBY. On the top floor is Anthropologie, Auntie Anne's, Eddie Bauer, LEGO Store, Uncle Julio's, and Zumiez among other things. A lot of course has changed. There used to be a Rainforest Cafe and of course there used to be Sears. Got to check it out even though it's not like it used to be. It's located along Golf Road. There's a few times it may be sketchy but people usually aren't violent or whatever.

I stopped in on Saturday 4/25/26 for an exchange. We had to search for an associate, to start off. Some were behind the counter on their phones, chit chatting with each other, or hiding behind racks. I felt like I was in a sea of employees with none to be found- strangest experience. I unfortunately found a counter with a lady named Cathy behind it. Cathy falls in top five worst shopping experiences I've ever had. She immediately profiled me, it was actually disturbing. Without letting me say a word about my exchange, she went on and on about why is it her problem and she's a "rule follower". She wouldn't even take the time to pull up my personal book or my mother in laws, who gifted them to my husband. Also, keep in mind, there are no "rules" when it comes to Nordstroms return policy. She was strictly there to give me a hard time and make me feel like I was doing something wrong. Things only went downhill from there when she called her MIC. A male named Eric I believe? African American with a beard. He came down with a quickness and never made eye contact with me once. The two of them together couldn't make one good manager. I found him to be cowardly and an example of the company's poor onboarding & training. It's not too late to invest in a leadership program, let me know if you're interested. My three items were like-new and only tried on. My husband has a bad habit of washing all his clothes before he wears them. He did exactly that in September 2025 to realize the pants fit him poorly on the legs. Since when is that a crime or not allowed? I've posted the return policy directly from their website with my review. It's clear that Cathy and her MIC were only trying to give me, and likely many other customers, a hard time and not service. So much for playing by the rules.

Don't expect to see employees waiting to help you out - Marshall's is really self- service. But the layout will help you locate what you need. Once you find what you were looking for, they have a lot of checkout stations by the exit. Each is numbered and, while you are in line, as the line moves and stations open, the number of station that opened is called out for the next person in line. Their checkout process is very efficient. While I don't go there often, when there is something I need that I believe Marshall stocks, I do check it out.

I found some cute winter jackets and winter clothing for 50% off. Some of their regularly priced items were great too and felt like good quality. I did notice that some of the sale sweaters may not last too long plus I noted some loose thread of some other pieces of clothing. Since there was a winter storm, the store and mall was not busy at all. They did run out of bigger bags so we had to stuff everything into multiple thin plastic bags. One of the salespeople was pretty friendly and pointed out a few cute jackets that were on sale. The self service kiosk was easy to navigate. Make sure you keep your receipt on hand since you need to scan the barcode when you leave. I definitely will return again since the price point was great.
