I stopped in on Saturday 4/25/26 for an exchange. We had to search for an associate, to start off. Some were behind the counter on their phones, chit chatting with each other, or hiding behind racks. I felt like I was in a sea of employees with none to be found- strangest experience. I unfortunately found a counter with a lady named Cathy behind it. Cathy falls in top five worst shopping experiences I've ever had. She immediately profiled me, it was actually disturbing. Without letting me say a word about my exchange, she went on and on about why is it her problem and she's a "rule follower". She wouldn't even take the time to pull up my personal book or my mother in laws, who gifted them to my husband. Also, keep in mind, there are no "rules" when it comes to Nordstroms return policy. She was strictly there to give me a hard time and make me feel like I was doing something wrong. Things only went downhill from there when she called her MIC. A male named Eric I believe? African American with a beard. He came down with a quickness and never made eye contact with me once. The two of them together couldn't make one good manager. I found him to be cowardly and an example of the company's poor onboarding & training. It's not too late to invest in a leadership program, let me know if you're interested. My three items were like-new and only tried on. My husband has a bad habit of washing all his clothes before he wears them. He did exactly that in September 2025 to realize the pants fit him poorly on the legs. Since when is that a crime or not allowed? I've posted the return policy directly from their website with my review. It's clear that Cathy and her MIC were only trying to give me, and likely many other customers, a hard time and not service. So much for playing by the rules.

Don't expect to see employees waiting to help you out - Marshall's is really self- service. But the layout will help you locate what you need. Once you find what you were looking for, they have a lot of checkout stations by the exit. Each is numbered and, while you are in line, as the line moves and stations open, the number of station that opened is called out for the next person in line. Their checkout process is very efficient. While I don't go there often, when there is something I need that I believe Marshall stocks, I do check it out.

In a Midwestern winter! I got 5 sweaters and 2 pairs of jeans for about $100! AMAZING! The clothes, even though they are affordable, wash well. The sweaters do not pill and I dry them by laying them flat so I have not experienced shrinkage either. The jeans are stretchy and move with me. I rocked a pair to a slide park and I was happy with my choice. The staff is usually pretty friendly and will help when necessary. My card was having issues so he helped me check out and the next time my receipt bar code would not scan to let me out of the self checkout area and I was helped right away. They have collegiate wear (Harvard), pop culture wear (Stranger Things, the Simpsons, Billie Eilish, Disney), and sports teams (Chicago Bulls) at affordable prices.
