It's a newer location (old Marshalls) that is a more modern store but about 1/4 the size of the old one, the people seem nice but due to the space issue there is way less item selection and inventory... like nothing in the gym clothes and equipment category. I got some deals today but there is more to look at in Hoffman or on Roselle in Schaumburg. I hope this one survives. read more

My husband & I decided to drop by in the new location not very far from the old place that we used to shop. When we entered the store, we were surprised by the size inside. It was very tight. Since we had an unplanned visit, we didn't check the closing hours and we heard their announcement that the store will be closing in 15 minutes and the cashier will unable to help checking out. Then, 10 pm hit and the lady reminded us that the store is close in a nice way. Then, the black guy told us in a loud voice & said " You must leave the store right now, the store is now close!!!." I never heard such rude words driving out in the store. My husband I had several times with other stores we loved to shop especially near to closing time and they were very pleasant and thankful with their customers and told them to come back again tomorrow. We decided not to come back in this location. That was a terrible experience that we encountered. We were not the only persons during those times. I believe they felt the same way because we saw their face reactions. Shop no more.....!! read more

line is always too long, waited in line for like 30 minutes employees take their sweet time and they're always short on staff.

Okay, the Security guard was super rude he followed me from row by row, aisle by aisle and didn't leave me any privacy while shopping. That was super uncomfortable and when I asked the manager about it and told him what happened he responds to me with, "Well, was something going on?" And he just walked away. I also need to add that the manager wasn't dressed very manager-like. He was wearing a worn out T-shirt with some unknown brand along side some old jeans, and gym shoes that were at least 4 years old. When I was leaving the store I was walking past the security guard and the manager while they were talking. I didn't get a "have a nice day" or "goodbye, see you again", nothing like tha just some strange stares and the security guard just pointed at shopping cart where my 5 and 3 year old were in and said "The carts stay inside." After recently undergoing a big renovation, the store is larger and more organized. They have a large selection of special sizes, petite and extended. They have some great home decor, especially their wall art, prints and paintings, along the side wall. If you're a dog lover, this is the place to score! They have a nice selection of squeaky toys for $3-$5. These are the same toys being sold else where for $7 and up! They've got dog beds in all sizes and a variety of plushness. These, too, you can pick up for less than half of the price you'd pay anywhere else. While you're over there, don't forget to check out their clearance aisle. Love this store! read more

This place is a disaster. It's dirty, disorganized, and lacking in selection. You can scoop up some great deals, especially on children's coats and clothing, but first you have to find what you're seeking. They don't make it easy. For adults, there are some really specific things that are worth a trip, like London Fog pea coats or in-season footwear, but that's only if you think the savings are worth battling unsupervised children, rack upon rack of mis-sized items, and rugs held down with tie-dye pattern washi tape. Beware the many loose carts that prowl the parking lot in search of cars to dent. read more

I haven't been to Burlington in years, but I saw a commercial about their post-holiday sale and, since there is one nearby, I decided I would try it again. Well, it's not exactly what I remembered, which was a store filled with home goods and coats. Now it appears they are trying to me more like a giant Marshall's. They have a lot of clothes, shoes, and accessories, as well as some home goods. Some of them are higher end than what Marshall's carries (e.g. Cole Haan shoes) and priced as such. Other merchandise was really cheap looking though. I ended up leaving without buying anything. Basically, this was due to the fact that they don't carry much of a selection in size XS or S. To their credit, they do have a small selection of petite clothes, and they were not all track suits and grandmother of the bride dresses usually (I am stuck in "juniors", if I want something that might fit). I also noticed that they had a small selection of size 5 and 5 1/2 shoes, and a large plus size department for women. I was glad I didn't find anything when I left because the register line was really long. Overall, I would say it was an "A-OK" store based on this visit. I will update my review if I visit again and the selection is better. read more

Burlington Coat Factory's tagline is "Brag About It." Unfortunately, there's really not too much to brag about when it come to this Burlington. This locale feels a bit like a junkyard Marshall's - the brands aren't as nice and the prices (for what you get) are higher. So, what's the draw, if any? Ironically, their baby goods selection is fairly vast, albeit standard pricing. So, what have we learned about this Burlington? Lots of made in China goods, meh pricing and oodles of baby stuff. If you have a coupon or deal of some sort, it may be worth a visit, otherwise your time and money is probably better spent at Marshall's/TJ Maxx. read more

Cute clothes. Good selection. Great prices. So why the bad review? Well, they block off their handicapped dressing room. I asked the lady if I could use it as I'm having health issues and it's easiest for me to get dressed sitting down. I'm also attached to an infusion pump which is very irritating to the site, the surrounding area is very tender. Well, as you may have guessed, if the tubing gets caught on anything. ..it's not pleasant. So here's where the problem started. She let me use it. And knowing I was back there, the attendant replaced her cart blocking me from passing. I tried to maneuver around her, but the tubing would catch on it. Ouch. I eventually moved her cart out of my way when she had gone to do something else. I decided not to buy anything. But I headed to a register to tell a manager this is not okay. His first question? "Is someone handicapped?" Here's a bloody newsflash. NOT ALL SICK PEOPLE LOOK SICK. Sorry I'm not in a wheelchair or on crutches, or something, alerting you to my health problems. I showed him the pump and explained the situation. He did send someone to talk to her. I mean, really. If someone asks to use the handicapped fitting room, maybe it's not because they want the extra space. Maybe they actually need it. Not all health problems and disabilities are visible. read more

We needed a last minute suit for my husband and had no idea where to go on a budget. Someone suggested Burlington to us so we checked it out. First of all, the suit department is large and extensive. All designer brands at a fraction of the suggested retail price. We had no idea what size he needed and a woman in the department gladly took my husbands measurements for us and pointed us into the right direction. After trying the suit on we found that the jacket fit perfect but the pants were too long and too tight in the waist. They have an on-site tailor who helped us figure out what alterations we needed. He said five day it would be ready and we hesitantly told him we needed it tomorrow. He said, "Ok, no problem!" and sent us on our merry way. We received a phone call the next day at around 1:00pm that our suit was ready to be picked up. We were in a bind and Burlington came through for us! Great prices, friendly and helpful staff and super quick service! I highly recommend!! read more

Stay away or else you'll be ripped off! I just can't put it to words what an awful experience I've had at this Burlington Coat Factory location. First of all, there were no associates present on the sales floor, not a single one. The sizes of their apparel were seriously mixed up, I ended up looking at the XXL sizes finding M sizes. Shoes..dirty and disorganized. I don't know if someone swapped their old shoes for new ones and walked out, I'd think so, however a few pair of those old shoes had the security tag lock still attached.. Interesting. Do two left shoes suit your taste? I found some amazing shoes which I was definitely going to buy, however they were both left shoes, I didn't even bother looking for an associate to help me with that, I doubt I'd even find one. I went into the fitting rooms, and to my surprise they were quite clean, but obviously no associate was there to take back the merchandise from me or direct me to the right stall.. but whatever, that's cool. The worst thing I believe is how ripped off I've been by their $9.99 promotional sale on socks. They were each marked at $2.99, sitting right there below the colossal display "5 pairs for $9.99!" Obviously I gave in and bought some. So I went toward checkout area, oh boy, they herd you like sheep with those stanchions! Thankfully there weren't busy but if they were I bet this would have looked like O'hare on a busy day. So I get to my checkout, put my items on the counter and Patrick, the cashier just stared at me with emptiness in his eyes, didn't say a word, which made me obviously uncomfortable. After a few moments of this stare down he slowly grabbed my items, placed them in an orderly fashion with the bar-codes up and finally with all his might and strength the man reached for his scan-gun and slowly started to scan my merchandise. During this awkward silence I have already forgotten about the promotion, which was going to be applied automatically, like it is at any other normal stores... By now I was seriously wondering if I'd have to bag the stuff myself. I grabbed the receipt and left, it isn't until I got home I realized I've been overcharged. I called the store and asked for a manager - manager answered... said to call back tomorrow and to ask for a manager. What? Okay. Now I'm being tired of all this phone tag, so I call their corporate office, and to add to my misery, when I hear the voice of the person on the other side who sounds like I just interrupted their sleep.. I've always been happy with the coats I get here...always very reasonable. Of course, I never actually washed one till now. And now I know better. I think it was stuffed with dried alewives because it absolutely reeks of dead fish! I washed it according to the directions, dried it on low with a springtime fresh softener sheet. The faux fur collar emerged smelling delightful. The coat and hood are a total loss. I can't get the stench out of it. Sooooooooooooo, for the remainder of winter, I am stuck wearing lots of layers with one of my husband's ugly plaid insulated work hoodies. They have a nice selection of housewares and linens. It's a huge store and can get a little overwhelming. I can't even look at the shoe section, it's a total mess. Despite the fish, I'll still be back. Terrible experience at this location. I needed to return a coat but had lost the receipt. I DID have a record of it on my credit card but that didn't seem to matter to the employees there. One of the men just kept telling over and over how it's better to have a receipt or tags, and while I understand that sometimes things get lost. This was my third time to this location and every time I have had an issue w a rude employee. The staff was just very rude and impatient, I will definitely not be returning. read more

I always walk into Burlington Coat Factory's expecting the best - that I'll find amazing prices, walk out with a ton of things that I'm happy with, etc. but that never happens. After being in there for too long I start to get sad. I find things I love and realize, "Why on Earth am I paying so much for this?" Today when I went that's exactly what happened. On top of the store overall being disappointing, the shoe area is a mess. Also the dressing rooms are not flattering. Whenever I try things on I always end up deciding they look terrible (I promise it's not just me looking bad in things). The only good thing about this Burlington is the employees are nice. The poor girls working the register (usually only 1 or 2) get yelled at because there are 20 people in line but the manager doesn't schedule enough people. Worst store ever. Employees are so rude. My husband asked an employee on the sales floor if she could look at another store to see if they had a coat available. She told him no and asked him if he could take the coat up front and ask so she didn't have to walk all the way up front. That's lazy and unacceptable. I ended up settling for something else and the registers were ridiculous. The wait time in the line was like 10 to 15 minutes. Once it was my turn the woman is ringing me up and then another cashier comes over and asks her a question about something which was fine but the most annoying part was she stopped ringing me up and helped the other person and didn't even apologize or anything. That is horrible customer service. I worked retail for many years and doing what that cashier did is a big no no. read more

Awful. I went in looking for a coat and when I walked all the way back to the coat section and went to my size bracket, I found that all sizes were just mixed altogether. Which made it literally impossible to find anything. Not only were sizes everywhere but styles too, mens was with juniors, leather was pretty much everywhere but leather and I swear I found more smalls in the large section than larges. Totally disorganized. (Not just in coats but all over the store) when I did finally find a decent coat the lining was shredded. But the exterior was fine. It was $50. I went up to the counter and asked if I could get a discount for the damage. They offered 10%...let me tell you the damage was well worse than 10%. I expected them to give me half off for how bad the lining was and they refused. I will never be back and will spread the word about how horrible and trashy this BCF is. Don't bother giving them your money, you'll find better selection and value at a thrift store. read more

I love the selection of items at Burlington Coat factory stores and decent prices, unfortunately with that being said, never will I come back here. Rude cashier, doesn't say hello, whatever that's fine. She doesn't give me a total and she's just staring at me. Good thing I knew what my total was while looking at the pin pad. She didn't say anything but "I'm getting sleepy waiting for you." EXCUSE ME?! I kept my mouth shut, just pulled out my total in cash (which took a matter of seconds) paid her and left. She barely even said thank you. I called when I left and asked for a manager which I usually don't do but that was just plain rude! Whomever answered the phone just said "hello". I asked I'm sorry where am I calling? "Burlington coat factory." Great may I speak to your store manager please? She puts me on hold and comes back a few seconds later telling me he left. Horrible customer service. I just had a simple question, to see if a coat I had to exchange was in another color. They sent me running in circles telling me another sales associate will help, while the whole time they were just chatting among themselves. I went to about 5 employees until someone came. I love this place for cloths, jackets and dress shoes but do not expect to find everything you need in one visit. It can sometimes be seasonal or hit and miss. Designer names at very discounted prices. The Professional Taylor Services offered at the Arlington Heights location are outstanding. Mr. Wong is a talented man and so helpful. I always enjoyed going there because of the merchandise, but today was my last visit to that location. The manager or so what he claimed, RAYMOND was unbelievably rude and completely unwilling to perform his duty as a customer service representative. Showed attitude right on the start and then continued as a politely asked if he can make an exception for a return. Not only were the shoes I was sold mismatched, but also damaged. I was late only one day, and he wasn't even polite about delivering the message. Once I agreed to take the stupid store credit that I'm most likely not going to use anyway, he threw the receipt he needed me to sign in front of me and didn't even say thank you or goodbye. Last time I checked, customer service means treating customer with respect, but apparently Raymond never got the message. read more

I spent about $200 today in the Burlington store in Arlington Heights. I have never come across more rude and arrogant service than in this store. The sales clerk named Manda was obnaxious and rude. When I called the store manager Dan he was ignorant and not professional. When I was leaving the store, the security gates started alarm in addition to already horrific experience I've had in this store. I will NEVER shope at Burlignton again. Messy store, messy fitting room, horrible service and rude unprofessional people who work there. read more
