I recently had a second pool refinished by Burkett's, and at this point I would not use them for a third. The pool finish itself looks great, however the final touches are less than par. The fill-in job where rusted hand rails and broken decking drains were removed is less than excellent. Also, paid more for a new LED color-changing light... the installation was horrible. It's held on by one screw, allowing the bottom half of the light to be pushed out away from the pool and swing around when touched. Also, I'm losing about an inch of water every other day. Burkett's was nice enough to send someone out last week to look at the situation, but after leaving two voicemails for Ashley, I've heard nothing back, and I'm still losing water. Come on Burkett's, in this time of drought I would think you'd be more responsive. read more

Burkett's pool plastering did a fantastic job on our pool. Very time efficient and always makes sure to leave your place cleaner than when they came! We definitely recommend this company. read more

Burkett's began the job of re plastering our pool and replacing a drain on the patio in April of 2019 to the tune of $13,000 and change, paid in full, on time. The re plastering went pretty well, a glitch or two taken care of over the space of one year. The issue was the drain. The compound holding the drain in place didn't set, and remained " soupy" . After several weeks of waiting, Burkett's got us on their schedule, and came out to repair the damage. During this repair they inadvertently cut the filler pipe to the pool which went unnoticed and left the patio stained, which was quite noticeable. Again, we waited to get on their schedule, the pipe was repaired, we talked about the stains, the project manager offered to power wash the patio. Move ahead months... the patio was power washed; the stains remained. More months, more prompting, acid wash; the stains remained. We are now almost one year in, and we have an offer to cover entire patio with a sealer that will even out the color. So ... I need a sample. Ok, we'll get one to you in the next two weeks... three months later more prompting...the sample shows up. I'm thinking maybe it's time to contact the owner. Six emails and several pictures later to give him a visual... no response. Not one. One of the managers printed the email and photos to put on his desk in case they we're going to spam... nothing. The stains remain although a little lighter after going on two summers in the sun. Not one time did a project manager check to see if the stains were gone... we had to call them. Not one time was the response timely. Not one time did I feel like anything more than a nuisance to them. I was assured that the owner of the company cared about his customers... I'm thinking not. As of June 2020, the stains remain. I can't okay covering the patio with a sealer because I don't trust them. What's my option if this doesn't work? Not sure where to go with this, but this is a start. read more

Burkett's did a great job on a major remodel from a vinyl-liner pool and old deck to a beautiful gunite pool with Kool Deck. It took me over two years to decide on a pool company, and frankly, the others I dealt with mostly seemed like flakes--including estimator/sales guys who stopped answering messages right as I was about to accept their proposals. If the sales guys are flaky, how likely is it that the rest of the company will be reliable?? Vladimir the estimator was very informative, even helping us decide which products and options suited us best (and he was right in guiding our choices based on our stated preferences). Our office contact person, Jessica, kept us posted on work crew schedules. We knew who was coming and when, even during rain delays. Even with rain, the job was close to the estimated completion date. Jessica was very nice and always responsive to my queries or messages asking for information. The crews worked hard and did a great job--the stone coping is beautiful. They were also very respectful of the property and cleaned up the work areas consistently. JR, the crew chief, was very professional and always easy to contact with any issues--even after the job was done and the pool started. Very glad we went with Burkett's and not the several other companies that we almost went with. The quality of the work and the reliability of all of the staff and workers really stands out. read more

We had a 30 year old pool badly in need of re-plastering. Burkett's sales department was not very responsive, but we came to find out that the sales person had been replaced, and after that, things went quickly and efficiently. The crews showed up as planned, and the work was done quickly and well. I found one issue with a leaking fitting that caused a stain, but Burkett's tech had a solution, which solved the problem. The communication with the inside contact person has been quick and comprehensive, and they have been a pleasure to work with. Our pool looks fantastic, and I consider the price to be reasonable. Thanks Burkett's! read more

Chris Raichel has been one on the most helpful, pleasant and reliable people I have ever had to deal with. She's an asset to your company.

Poor communication. No calls to let us know when they would be here. $8000 and I'm all set to go with my pump with a broken handle and my vacuum in it's box and disappointed they have no intentions of returning as the last guy said they would. read more

Not a client today but very annoying that they have decided to park their big trucks blocking my driveway while they pour gunite next door. I'm inside helping my little one with social distance school so luckily I don't have to leave anywhere but I just think its quite rude that not one of their workers bothered to come ask if they can park there or if it bothered me. They moved quickly this morning so my husband can leave to work and that 1 worker was nice enough to ask if it was just my husbands truck but they should be more considerate at job sites. Other than that they good nice hard workers. They actually did my pool gunite last summer. read more

I'm surprised to see some of these negative comments. Burkett's was excellent!! We went with a simple equipment upgrade, but everything went perfect. The new pump is saving us lots of money $$!! Thanks Burkett's!!! read more

We called Burkett's for a replaster of our pool. Mark T. was the estimator for the job. He was very knowledgeable and advised us with choices of materials and finishes. The prep crew were very organized and cleaned up all the debris from the surface prep of the pool before they left. The plaster crew, Brandon P. was supervisor, also experienced in everything about plaster. Pool looks incredible. Burkett's people and crews were skillful in the whole process of reconditioning our pool. Highly recommended. read more

I have been dealing with Burkett's since April of this year. One thing after another and they have horrible customer service. They will do everything to not let you speak with a manager. After having my pool re-plastered and a pump changed, they told me I needed another pump. The plastering I asked for looks different than what I wanted. After the second pump was installed and everything supposedly working correct, my water level has started to drop. I have had Burkett's come out several time to fix this issue. Most recent, I had to break concrete and fix a supposed leak. Once that was done, I am still loosing water and still waiting for Burkett's to fix the problem. I have paid every time something was being "fix" and the amount of money I have put towards the re-plaster is the same I would have put towards a new pool. read more

We started our pool remodel project on October 2nd. Today is October 22nd and we are filling up with water-A week ahead of schedule! This was the most seamless process I have ever experienced. Jess in the office was amazing with communicating when workers would be there. They always showed up when they were scheduled and right on time! Jesus was there to oversee everything and delivered as promised! I read a lot of reviews that were not favorable and I was a little hesitant about using this company, but after this experience, I would absolutely recommend them! They were also the cheapest out of the three estimates I got for our project so I feel like we got our money's worth! read more

Burkett’s Pool Plastering - Pool & Hot Tub Service Near Me - Ripon, California

I am so so disappointed with this company. I got MULTIPLE bids some where slightly cheaper, some were a lot more. we decided to go with Burketts because we liked their overall presentation and thought they would be a good company overall. Where to start.... we told the sales person we wanted EVERYTHING redone. We want concrete, pool, equipment and plumbing. (we knew their were leaks and told them that, which is why we wanted it all done. But NO they only put pressure testing on the bid a difference between $500 and $6500, awesome. so when an issue came about with the pipes not holding pressure guess who had to pay an additional $475, we did. we were told, again by the sales guy, it would be a 4-5 week project and couldn't start for a few weeks out. FINE. we knew that it was busy time, no complaints about this!! HOWEVER we then get our estimate time frame and its a 7 week project. ok FINE again. However we are on week 7, and concrete prep is still not done! they have to finish that, pour concrete, plaster and equipment STILL!! They space out their workers over multiple jobs so you could easily go a week or two with absolutely no one at your house doing the pool. this was the most frustrating thing ever. we are paying good money to get this done. work on our pool!!! we are being accommodating for you, your follow through is horrible. The concrete people are their, they measured our decking area and from the initial bid they are 300 sq ft off. thats an additional $2,700. and they think that is perfectly fine! they wont do anything about it to take the error on their part. I emailed the customer service agent explaining issues we are having. 24 hrs and counting and still no response. this has been the biggest headache ever!! it is seriously so stressful and I cannot believe the go around we are getting from this company. do your research. and DO NOT PICK this company if you want your pool to be done in a timely manner. read more

I had my pool installed in 2005 and Burkett did the pool plastering. I did not as I am not a pool guy. Since that time I've had nothing but problems with one area of my pool. This is the 4th time I've had the same issue in the same place. This time it's worse then the first 3 times, as you can see in the picture below. There are no other issues with anywhere on the pool. Now they refuse the correct the problem they didn't correct the first 3 times. I've been trying for 2 years to get them to fix this for a 4th time. I've had 2 guys out here taking pictures and still not fixed. I've even tried to get in touch with Tom (owner) and that has got me nowhere. I would suggest if you're looking at get pool work done you look for a different company who will stand behind their work. read more

Burkett’s Pool Plastering - Rust is coming through the plaster because the plaster is to thin causing the rebar to cause this problem - Pool & Hot Tub Service Near Me - Ripon, California

Amazing Customer service! Great products. A must for any pool renovation. My consultant Vladimir is wonderful and knowledgeable

The Burkett Pool Team were very helpful in tackling our pool project. They truly have a knowledgable crew when it comes to shooting pool shells and finishing the plaster. They stand behind their work and have been in business longer then any other contractor we interviewed. I did a lot of research, these folks were also referred to me and we couldn't be happier with their work. Thanks for taking care of our project and maintaining a clean site! Couldn't be happier. read more

I echo Christine S.: They don't return our calls and they start some work and then disappear. They committed to start in the week of 6/12 but a couple of days before then, called to reschedule to a couple of weeks later. Then they came to work for a day and a half and never came back. We had to call to find out why, and it took us several calls, emails and texts until we got ahold of someone. They told us that they are busy with other jobs and that they will come again after the 4th. They didn't. Today is the 7th and besides demolition and set up for pressure test, they haven't done anything else. Needless to say that it's hot and we want to use the pool. One last thing: the pool, 9 ft deep, has been drained for over 10 days. This is very dangerous: people may fall and hurt themselves. Bottom line: had I known they would delay the work that much, I would have chosen a different company. I'm super disappointed and frankly, very upset! read more

Do not use. Signed the contract for a pool replastering and new pump and filter on 3/21/17 for a cost of $7,800. Told the salesman I was getting married on 5/7 and would be out of town for honeymoon so it needed to be done prior or I was not to do the work. He said it took 10 days for work to be completed and 10 days of aftercare so needed to be started at the latest 20 days before 5/7. The company's communication is very limited, on 4/4, I received an email from Burketts stating the pool would be drained on 4/20 and the dates for the equipment install, sandblasting, and plaster were TBD. I called to try and get firm dates and was told they wouldn't know until the night before if they were coming or not. Someone showed up on 4/20 and threw a pump in the pool to drain it. He said it had an automatic shutoff and to just leave it. After a couple of days it continued to run so I called the foreman, Rick Creekmore and he said to go ahead and unplug it. I tried to get dates from Rick and he was unable to provide. The following week the crew showed up to sandblast the pool. When the crew was finished for the day they washed all their tools out on our back lawn leaving what appeared to be concrete, I'm assuming it was gunite all over the grass, several inches thick in places. I was told the pool wouldn't be plastered until Monday or Tuesday, May 1st or 2nd. With the upcoming wedding this was definitely not enough time. I desperately called the office and was able to schedule the plastering for Saturday. Being Saturday we were away at our sons little league most of the day. We left the gate open and locked up the dogs for the crew. We got home to a finished pool being filled. Our initial excitement over the project turned to dismay when we found one of the workers had written in the dust the job created on our garbage can lid, "F@#k you." Since we had zero interaction with the workers except my wife handing them a check one can only assume they were angry about working on the weekend. We also found they had broken one of the fence boards on the gate. On Tuesday the start up guy arrived to add chemicals and do the initial brushing. The pool needed to be brushed twice a day for ten days. Being that I was, getting married in 5 days this was a problem. I asked about how to use the new equipment and was told Rick would need to come. I was able to get Rick to come on Monday 5/8 to demonstrate the equipment and listen to my complaints. I explained we were packing for a honeymoon and he assured me he would come while we were gone and fix the gate. It's 5/27 and nothing has been fixed and no word from Burketts. On a positive note the pool looks nice. Other than a few uneven spots on the floor of the pool and the crack in the step the work was okay. The crack in the step may be a bunch of excessive material piled up, hard to tell. They were very prompt at cashing all the checks before the work was done. I cannot recommend this company. read more

Wanted to give a shout out to Dennis from Burketts Pool. He has come out twice to assess some cracks in our pool and let us know that they could do the work but that there was another option to would be more economical given the size of our cracks. So he drove here, spent his time and didn't make any money but gave us a recommendation to save us money on our repair. That deserves 5 stars in my book. Dennis will be the first person to call when it is time to re-plaster our pool and our first recommendation to others for their business ethics. I see from others that their work gets lots of 5 star reviews and I can see why. read more

Awesome! I was going to cancel my contract that we signed back in November 2013 when I read all these poor postings on yelp. I am sooo glad I proceeded with the service. They were all amazing - great customer service. Jason was our sales guy from the beginning where we felt some pressure to sign however when it came time to consider our job security and whether we should cancel in February 2014, Whitney was honest and open to "whatever your decision is" - no pressure. As they declared from the beginning "allow 2 full weeks to complete the process" - they started on 3/14 with draining pool to 3/28 plastering, 3/29 acid wash to re-filling. Whitney was on top of contacting us to give us the appt dates set for the next step the day before, which kept us on track. She was extremely professional. We went with the Prism Deep Blue Sea and LOVE IT! Looks amazing! Thank you Burkett's! We will recommend you to others for sure! read more

From the sales person (Steve) to the installers, to the office staff...I've been treated with the utmost respect. I was given multiple options, all without any pressure. I was a little concerned when I read old reviews via YELP before deciding to have Burkett's do my pool remodel. Since there was only one other company to bid, they won the job. I would like everyone to know, including the company, that the workmanship and crews far exceeded my expectations. The showed great teamwork, pride, and efficiency in their work. No shortcuts were taken in any phase. Even small adjustments that I requested met with "can do" attitude and were done free of charge. I am filling the pool now and it hasn't looked this good in years. Magen, called and kept me informed at every turn. Crews arrived as scheduled and left after cleaning and picking up. My plants, lawn, and home were protected from damage while the work was being performed. The salesman, Tom Souza, provided me with local referrals where I could view work before deciding.
