I normally don't leave reviews unless I have to or feel the need to. My children wanted brunch and they chose Burger Time so I placed a Takeout order online via Yelp. It was around 12pm when the restaurant received my order. I started driving to the restaurant. When I arrived at 12:33pm was when Yelp notified me that my food was ready for pickup. I went in and told one the waitresses I was there to pick up my order and gave her my name. She said "yup, it's ready" and she went back and disappeared. I waited as another waitress with red hair came out filling my drinks and condiments. I kept waiting with my daughter in the lobby with at least 6 other people around me and more people going in and out of the restaurant to pick up and order food. I wasnt sure when food was coming out as the waitress confirmed it was ready so I waited patiently for about 25 minutes and decided to send my daughter to wait in the car to avoid contact with people due to COVID. The waitress kept taking orders and didn't say anything to me. At 1pm was when I approached her and asked if my food was ready because I was told 30 minutes ago that food was ready for pick up. She yelled back to the cook and the cook told her it would be another minute. The waitress didn't respond or communicate back to me. I waited and she started packing my food. Once ready, she handed it to me with an attitude "here you go". I thanked her and she responded "welcome", still with attitude. I gave this review one star because there was lack of communication and poor services from the restaurant. I wouldn't have felt worried for myself and my daughter and would have waited in the car if she had let me know that it would be another 30 minutes (total of 1 hour) wait, for covid safety purpose. During this trip, I did not see the waitresses wear gloves. There was no hand sanitizer on the counters. They did not wipe each time after a customer. There were no tape marks on the ground to indicate 6ft social distancing. Guests were in and out and near each other inside and outside of the restaurant. Very COVID-19 risky. Food wise, my kids said their patties were soggy. I took a bite of each of my kids burgers and food was soggy and cold as the food had been set out for too long. I believe they made the burgers out first and left on the side while the cook took another 30 minutes to make my grilled chicken salad. We usually spent $45-60 each time we visited this place. Won't ever go back again. Back to In-N-Out and HW Burgers which taste so much better and better services. The one star is also for the size is their burgers. Yes, they're not stingy but lack of communication (COVID safety risk) and poor customer service, worries and frustration seem to take over the feelings for their food. read more

Came in and ordered one burger to go. They called two numbers for people that ordered after me. Waited an additional 10 minutes after until I went up to the counter to ask what was going on. Cashier didn't offer a reason why and said it would be right up. Waiting another 10 minutes and finally got my order out without even an apology . I couldn't time if exactly since there "receipts" are slips of paper with a simple number on it. We've been talking about trying Burger Time for weeks now, so after a movie downtown we decided to give it a try! We ordered 1 fry to share, they were delicious, my husband ordered a Texas Burger, he said it was good, I ordered an Avocado Burger with no cheese. I got a burger with cheese but no avocado. It was good but I was so looking forward to the avocado burger so needless to say I was disappointed. I will try again, they are really nice there and the prices are good. This is an unassuming little stand right on 16th Street, and I'm not sure if the name does it justice. Don't get me wrong, the burgers are fantastic, but they have a little of everything on the menu from the typical chicken sandwiches and nuggets to tacos, fish, shrimp and full on chicken dinners. When I walked the cashier was trying to refund a customer in front of me. It's like they didn't know what they were doing and they didn't know the menu or the register. I walked up to order and was asking questions since it was my first time there. Every time I asked about a certain burger she had to ask the cook in the back or the other girls around her. How do you not know the menu? You work there! How do the other 3 girls working up front not know there menu either? Was my first time going here and will definitely be my last. First of all, we were the only car in the drive thru and it still took us a solid 25 mins to get our order, which was 1 burger and 1 burger combo. By the time we got it the fries were cold. The burgers were okay, salty, definitely not the best in town and seemingly over priced. What I was so mad about was all of the nickel and diming they do at this restaurant. I asked for no bun, which printed them to ask me if I would like a lettuce wrap, no mention of an upcharge. It cost damn near an extra $1 to get a lettuce wrap burger. That's insane. They also upcharge you for a side of ranch. I'm surprised we weren't charged for the ketchup. Anyways. Save your time and money and go some place else. My family and I just recently moved to Merced and was so ecstatic to stumble upon burger time because they have some of the best food and reminded us of burger joints in LA. We've been here multiple times and almost every time we have truly loved it. We have tried multiple items on the menu and have thoroughly enjoyed them all. My absolute favorite thing to order is zucchini fries and their ranch compliments the zucchini in a major way. I have a family of 6 and every time we come, we spend at minimum $50 with no problem. This evening I ordered two meals, western burger meal w/ zucchini and chili cheese burger meal w/ chili cheese fries and a family meal which includes 4 burgers, 4 fries and 4 drinks. To my surprise, my zucchini was burnt, they changed the fries to shoe string fries and they were cold, the lemonades had no ice in them and the bacon on my burger as well as my daughter's was burnt. Not to mention, they had a sign posted that they were out of the Philly cheesesteak which is what I came for. Disappointment is an understatement of how I felt this evening. The cheese burgers were super thin and reminded me of McDonalds but bigger in diameter. Tasted good, but I expected more. To me its like a larger, greasier version of McDonalds.
