Fatima service was incredible -- she was super friendly, full of charisma, and had such a positive energy that made our visit even better. She provided exceptional service from start to finish. We came in this evening at 7:50. The seating for the restaurant was blocked off with chairs and a worker glared at us as we ordered from self service screen. I checked to make sure they closed at 9:00 as opposed to 8:00, and they did in fact close at 9:00. Since most tables inside were blocked off, we sat outside. At 8:15, the workers started dragging all of the outside chairs inside very loudly making us feel like we needed to rush eating. At 8:20, they started mopping all of the floors inside the restaurant. People were still coming in to order and they were still open for 40 more minutes. The food was fine, but the service was just plain weird. The bun is crispy and crunchy as is the out part of the burger. The only beef I had about the toppings for the burger is the caramelized onions, which were thin, stringy and chewy . The onions should have been thick and tender IMO. When you arrive you order up front then take a number and they bring it to you. They also have a cool HH from 3-5 m-th with half price burgers, nugget tenders, beer and wine. The beer offerings are quality served in a 22 oz glass. My second time at the Burger Lounge in Carlsbad, CA. was rthe same as the first experience: The only reason there was a second time was because my kids were visiting and wanted to meet there. The only thing dryer than the hamburger bun was the meat patty, and the only thing more watery than the chocolate shake was a glass of water. I literally have had a better burger at a Mcdonald's, and have actually paid 1/3 LESS for a 1/2 lb patty delicious gourmet burger at a boutique restaurant just up the coast in San Juan Capistrano - which we split because it was so large. We have always loved Burger Lounge. We discovered the one in Carlsbad on vacation and were so glad to find one close to home. We've always have a great experience, until today. Service was awful. They were busy, but we've been there plenty of busy nights prior. They were having issues with their fries but warned us and we said it was fine. They were terrible but we'd been warned so no worries there. We waited a very long time for our food. I went to use the restroom while waiting. It was disgusting. There was urine everywhere. Our shake didn't come out so I waited awhile because I knew they were busy. I went up to ask for it, but nobody would acknowledge I was there so I went back and we finished our food. I went back up to ask again after eating our meal. This time, I was able to ask someone. He said they'd bring it to us. I told him we were done eating. He seemed annoyed and asked me to wait at my table. The shake came about 5 minutes later by someone who also seemed annoyed and gave me a curt apology. My very, very, very, very favorite burger place in all of Orange County! The gluten-free turkey lounge burger is the bomb!! Made fresh with basil and all the produce is amazing never wilted or old like most burger places. They even have Gluten-free buns. Which is a blessing when since I have celiac disease. Their French fries are incredible as well but it is hit or miss on getting hot ones when they are busy. The three stars is for serving the Uber Eats crowd before the in person families which sucks!! It's a Thursday night at 5:00pm. And they told us it would be a 30 min. Wait when there is two people in the place! The house cheeseburger sounded about right for the first visit, and the twice-cooked Belgian-style fries....there it was. I requested some more ketchup and while the guy got busy with to-go orders, he didn't forget about me and delivered the backup ketchup precisely when I needed it. Excellent! I really did enjoy the burger, requested white cheddar and that really hit the spot. Their house-made dressing, resemblant of chunky thousand island, was also quite good.
