Was in the area and craving for seafood ended up here. They do have outdoor seating area and I think it's really nice lots of parking as well. I ordered salmon bowl and ordered crispy fish taco. The food took a little bit to come out considering it's not busy went around lunch time on a Saturday. The guy who served my food is nice he made sure I have all I need and keep on checking if I'm ok. The food - the salmon is really dry wish there was a sauce that comes with it but they do have some salsa counter they have that special home made salsa but does not really go with the fish the rice is good though. I have been coming to this Wahoos location for a while now and I got to say that the food and the staff members are amazing. They treat you very well like family and service is great. Food is hot, well cooked, and recieve my order fast everytime Definetly would recommend trying out their tacos with my favorite being the 1988 style chicken tacos. Their chicken burritos are also very delicious. Dining in the restaurant, they have good music playing that you can listen to while you enjoy your food making it a great place to come for lunch. If you have any questions or help with your order at all, the team members will gladly help you out. Chicken was dry and rubbery. Veggies were undercooked. The citrus slaw was decent. Carnitas as the 2nd protein was cooked thoroughly and quite tasty. Ordered 2 burritos and 2 orders of taquitos , my wife's steak burrito had 8 pieces of steak . Both orders of taquitos were left in the fryer for 6 minutes too long . Taquitos were literally chips with burnt meat , tasted purely like oil . As a professional cook I get that ordering before closing is a pain in the ass . But don't serve shit food when the customer pays almost 60 dollars for dinner . I came back just in time to get my money back for taquitos. But what a bummer . I have been living in Costa Mesa for 9 years and eating here all the time . The cashier told me the manager is on vacation for 2 weeks . Total attitude for serving shit food . I was curious to try wahoo's since I was in the area and the food was pretty good. I got the rice and beans with two fish tacos. The tacos were tasty and the sauces were decent. Unfortunately where wahoos suffers is the price. $15 for that is expensive. Rubio's is cheaper and tastes just as good, though wahoos gives you more rice and beans but eh. My go to Wahoo's Fish Tacos closed during the Pandemic, so I'm out searching for new Wahoo locations and came across this location at the west side of the South Coast Plaza, across the street from the main mall. The insides are very similar to Pasadena, and seems brighter and inviting. The food is rather healthy and made to order with fish the main protein served. Both inside the restaurant and indoor seating outside the restaurant is available. I would enjoy anything from this restaurant, and would surely be healthier for it. I always go for the most expensive entrees to ensure I get the most to eat and hoping it's the best item on the menu. Fortunately, I bought both fish and beef and was satisfied with both! This really hurts my soul to leave this review. But their food menu has changed again. And the quality has gone down dramatically. I tried their Hawaiian onion ring steak burrito. And wow it's mush. The steak is of such low quality that when you bite into it. The whole piece comes out . And in the picture it looks grilled. This looks gray and steamed. It taste more like Salsberry steak. The rice was bad because they put the sauce on it and it just doesn't work. I would imagine something would work if they were using fresh ingredients. You can tell, the quality has taken a hit. I imagine some corporate guy decided that they would make more money with his lower quality because nobody would notice the difference. So today my buddy and I came to eat at wahoos. I haven't been to the one here on Placentia in Costa Mesa. To my surprise I ran into Karla who worked at the Wahoos at South coast plaza.
