    Hand-Breaded Crispy Chicken Sandwich

I haven't been here in a long time and it's too bad I used to get decent food but not this time. Moldy bread and way over fried chicken. Couldn't eat it.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed to learn from the hostess/manager that only service animals are allowed, even in the outdoor seating area. What was most frustrating was that this policy was not clearly advertised on the website. Had we known ahead of time, we would have planned accordingly and avoided the disappointment. The staff member was friendly, and we ultimately placed our order to go, but the experience left us questioning whether we would return. We understand and respect a restaurant's policies regarding animals, but we feel those policies should be clearly communicated online so co customers know before arriving. Hopefully, Ellis Farmhouse will update its website to make this policy clear for future guests. SEE PHOTO

This place was well reviewed, so we decided to make this the spot this time around. Ordering was done up front, but there were tables to sit at. Missus ordered while I took photos, and the food came out relatively quickly. Took pics and dug in. Sweet potato fries were the highlight. Hand cut, fried and seasoned. With ranch, they were really good. The burger and hot god were good in terms of quality and quantity. The condiments were a little overpowering though, ended up taking over a lot of the dish and really muddled the meat. The meat itself was lightly seasoned, relying on the condiments to bring the flavor. Not bad, but all elements should bring their own identity and add to a meal. The burger felt absent, and although flavorful was lacking that extra bit of salt or fat to make it truly shine. It's not bad at all, just lacking. Everything else was good, the price easily reasonable for the quality. It was just missing those finishing touches to be truly great

They had lots of bagels to choose from - regular and "fancy" ones too. I am pretty basic so I got a sesame seed bagel. They also have lots of options of what kind of sandwich you want. I got an egg and cheese and a hash-brown side. We also got coffees. I was bummed about the other place I like because they always have some kind of fun flavor coffee until I saw this selection!!! Holy moley - so many flavor choices! I got the Yankee Doodle flavor which is basically hazelnut and cinnamon. Yum!!! Our bagels were ready pretty quickly - we grabbed a seat and dug in. It was Delicious. The bagel was nice and toasted on the outside and so soft on the inside!

There's no color or anything. Just beige walls and a sneaker (maybe Lego?) in a case on one of the tables seemed to be their only attempt at livening things up. I walked up to the counter to order to discover that they did have a pretty big selection of bagels. Most of which I couldn't read the names of because there's a giant table between you and the counter (that you have to stretch over to hand the cashier your payment) and the text on the signs was so tiny. The woman who was there also seemed like she was trying to rush me. I chose the double cheddar with cream cheese. What I got was more akin to a crispy hockey puck that tasted like nothing but char. No flavor remotely resembling cheddar. It was piled thick with cream cheese, which was great, but that was the only plus. I will not be back. It takes a lot for me to be this disappointed in a bagel, but they did it.

I had one of the nicest salads with perfectly grilled chicken and a cumin-citrus dressing. He had a terrific burger- one of the best. A friend of mine and I went to Craft Kitchen for lunch on this Thursday…read more There was plenty of parking to the right of the restaurant, and the side entrance was right there. As I walked through the front doors, I noticed kegs alongside on the floor. This was kind of a turn off, kind of reminds me of a dive bar. So my mentality kicked in that we were going into a dive bar serving food. I kinda get the sketchy feeling. Once we were seated, and menus placed, we were served iced water A few minutes later, the server came back and took our order. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and some string french fries. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken, which came with two sides. I chose the rattlesnake beans and the creamy macaroni and cheese. Also include included was cornbread I originally wanted the street corn, as a side, but it was not available. Our lunches came quick, and my friend only ate half the french fries and cheeseburger, as she wasn't really turned on by them. The smoked chicken was fairly dry, with a very interesting smoked flavor to it that I can't put my finger on. I eat about 1/3 of it. Left the rest on the plate. The creamy macaroni and cheese was out of bounds top-notch. I could've eaten this all day. The rattlesnake rice and beans were just OK. The rice was cooked pretty good, and was seasoned well. The beans had a weird taste. Now thinking of this side dish, I was hoping for raw onions to be on top, but they were nowhere to be found. It'll be nice if there was chopped raw onions to go with this. The cornbread was delicious. I ate about half of it. It was a generous slice. While the server was fairly attentive, as she only checked in to fill the water glasses and ask how lunch was. She didn't ask us if we wanted a desert or coffee. Being old folks this would've been a great up for us, but it didn't happen. I had to ask for the check. I'm not sure if I would come back. I think this might be a one and done. The vibe just didn't hit it for me. Restrooms were clean. The restaurant was clean; the silverware clean. I don't know. It just was like a funky type layout and those beer kegs kinda sent the wrong tone to me as a guest. Lunch for the two of us was $40 and change and I left a $10 tip. We didn't have any cocktails or mock tails, we didn't have coffee or dessert either. From what I understand, the owner was near the exit when we left, not even a smile or a thank you for coming in...

Crispy on the outside, packed with well-seasoned chicken inside. Good spice, not overpowering. Came with a salsa and a ketchup-mayo style sauce, both worked, but the salsa had a little more life to it. Before that, warm ciabatta hit the table with a house-made dipping sauce. Oil-based with garlic, blue cheese, and a few other layers going on. The blue cheese gave it a subtle kick without taking over. Nice way to start. Now to the burger, the Luger Burger. I'm assuming it's a nod to the classic steakhouse, but didn't get full confirmation. The sauce is made in-house: slightly sweet, a little acidic (I picked up balsamic), smooth texture. It's a good sauce, it just needed a bigger voice on this burger. The burger itself is large. And I mean large. Menu said thick-cut bacon... that wasn't the case. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. Now I'm going to get a little critical, because this is where it matters. The burger needed more salt. There's a lot of beef here, and it can absolutely handle it. Even something as simple as salting the tomato would've helped bring things together. If the bacon had actually been thick-cut, that alone might've bridged the gap. This was a very beef-forward burger, to the point where the supporting flavors barely showed up. The patty felt a bit too tightly packed, which gave it a denser bite and let the beef dominate the whole experience. A looser grind or lighter hand forming it would've made it more tender and allowed everything else to come through. It also needed more acid. The Luger sauce was applied lightly, so either lean into it more or bring in something else, a pickle, a sharper onion, something to cut through the richness and balance it out. The bun was soft, nicely toasted, and held up well, which isn't easy with a burger this size. Fries were hand-cut, properly salted, and exactly what you want. No complaints there. Overall, this is a great spot. Clean, comfortable, nicely decorated. Staff was excellent. Food was good, with flashes of being really good. With a few small tweaks, mainly balance and execution on the burger, this could easily jump to the next level.
