First trip ever to a Chick-fil-A last week. Stopped off at the location in Newington, CT. Service - I never thought I would be complimenting the service of a fast food restaurant. From employees opening the door into the restaurant, to everyone being courteous, and the constant cleaning of the tables, I was impressed by the staff of the location. I've always had great food from this brand all along the east coast from CT to FL. Today was the end of my raving review of Chick-fil-A. I didn't eat the Kale side salad. I tasted the dressing and didn't like it. That was just personal preference, next time I'll stick with waffle fries like I usually get My sandwich was dry and overcooked. The flavor was off, more salty than spicy and the lettuce on my sandwich was softer than the bread. The finger imprints on my sandwich bun weren't a major problem, its bound to hapoen in food service. Hopefully they were wearing gloves It was a busy afternoon So I used curbside pickup. Its an easy to use service through the app! The only problem was that the line for the drive-thru was so long, it blocked the curbside pickup parking spaces. Like all my other Chick-Fil-A reviews, I have to start off by saying that I have no respect for the actual company that is Chick-Fil-A. This company donates money to terrible causes, has evil views, and for the most part absolutely sucks.......but I'm a total hypocrite who still occasionally eats here because let's be real, it's the best fast food in the world. I stopped at this location on Saturday before getting tattooed and it was a solid and quick choice for lunch. I came here in the very early afternoon and settled on the chicken chunks meal with waffle fries and a sprite on the side. The staff per usual was extremely friendly and fast to get me in and out. The food? Well, it's Chick-Fil-A so it was delicious but let's get more specific, eh? The chicken chunks were super juicy, super tasty, and styled satisfying on the tongue. The waffle fries are some of my favourites around and just like in the last get a huge thumbs up from me. Overall, as much as I hate Chick-Fil-A, the food is incredible and the staff is super friendly. Newington, CT : Today was the first time that I had been to Chick-fil-a and it was outstanding. The supervisor was operating the front and taking my order. He was friendly and he helped me thru all the options. He was awesome. The the dining room runner was quick and polite with the order and asked me if I need anything. And finally, the dinner room person was friendly, helpful and asked several times if I needed anything. This was a tremendous experience and I was completely shocked. I even asked a few employees how that liked their jobs and they loved them. I was so impressed. In full disclosure, I am a customer experience for a large insurance company and highly training in the CX end to end journey. I was extremely impressed and can only hope we do it this well. So I've been to this Chick-fil-A several times thinking I'd give it a shot but it's just awful. Be prepared to wait at least 10-20 mins for your food whether there is a line, no line, or the super awkward guys standing by the drive thru lane to take orders to try and hurry up the line. Bottom line is they need quicker people working inside and they know they're on a main road and will always have people driving in. This was my 4th time here and I've gotta say if I want any chick-fil-a in the future I'm going to drive further to west hartford or Wallingford because this one is just that. Bad. read more

My third visit to the Newington restaurant was a disappointment. The woman who took my $$ and gave me the order was wonderful. Great smile and carried a pleasant conversation while I was waiting for my take-out order. The problem was with the order itself: 3 times I had to repeat that I wanted bacon and mayonnaise on my grilled chicken with lettuce & tomato. I got home and NO bacon or mayonnaise. And then there was the waffle fries: I have had them in the past and we love these because they are always crispy. These waffle fries were mush! Either the fryer is not set high enough (which I suspect), or they weren't cooked long enough. Either way, the good taste was there but it was like eating a floppy mashed potato. Overall this is excellent, and even moreso considering it's fast food. The most praiseworthy thing for me is the staff: always well mannered, well-spoken, polite, respectful, courteous, pleasant, presentable. And, this would be the case for any service business but especially fast food. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and comfortable. The menu is healthy, and again, especially for fast food. Parking is good. The food is healthy and good. Service is fast. So, why not 5 stars. They make mistakes in orders, and more than rarely. You have to check your bag every time before you leave. This is especially problematic in a car at night with a fully packed bag and a line behind you. They often put employees in the driving area of the drive thru to take orders and payments. I don't like that. You can't see the menu when they ask for the order. Also part of the reason I go to a drive through is privacy. I don't like people walking up to my window and standing over me. It's also more difficult to make payment and get change, especially in bad weather. Also I don't like people walking around in between cars that I have to be careful not to drive into. Another thing I don't like is that they have a big speed bump in the parking lot. It aggravates an injury i have, so I have to drive the long way around and go against the arrows for a portion. Another problem is they sometimes tell people to wait in the handicapped spaces for them to bring the order out. They assure people "it's no problem. Everyone does it." So if a cop pulls up on me waiting, they'll say it's fine? read more

I used to live in North Carolina! So chick-fil-a was all the rage! After moving back to CT and hearing they were opening a store on the Berlin Turnpike, I got super excited. I swung by today (don't ask what took me so long! ;) ). Nate was my server he was very polite, efficient and got my order correct. However once I got home and dug in.. the sandwich I had ordered just wasn't as I remembered, a little on the salty side. But the cookies and cream milk shake NEVER disappoints. First thing is, the workers that they have by the drive thru speakers situation sucks. Why? I don't know the menu like that and they ask you what you want. I can't tell you how many times I had to tell them that I need to pull up to the speaker where the menu is. Then if your paying in cash, they have ran out of change, so that holds up the line even more. Gave this location another try last night and really wondering what is wrong here...Is there a Manager in the house? The drive through audio system is horrendous...the sound from the turnpike and the adjacent order lane drown out and distort your communication. Also, this is the second time that the person at the window handed me my order without double checking and stating what was in the bag as is Chick-fil-A protocol...got home and the order was filled incorrectly (although the food was still great)...first time this has ever happened to me or anyone I know at a Chick-fil-A. This could be a result of the garbled audio during the ordering process where the employee kept asking me to repeat myself as I kept asking the same. Whatever the cause is secondary to the central question of where the heck is management that should be on top of this problem before a customer has to complain about it. I have never had these problems at any other Chick-fil-A and will patronize the other nearby locations in the hope that the Newington location gets ahead of these problems. My first visit was 08/10/2019. At 8:20 pm the front had no customers, I was the only one. There were at least 4 or 5 employees hanging around, talking. They paid no attention to me standing at an open register waiting to order. The problems are these: Staff was not doing the job of servicing customers. Staff was absorbed in socializing with each other to the detriment of duties. Store and parking lot area are not cleaned with empty containers strewn about the parking lot.
