While visiting CT my friends suggested coming here for lunch before I flew back home. The service was good, but the food was just okay. My two friends got burgers and enjoyed them, while I had the burger salad. I was not a fan of it. The texture of the burger patty wasn't the most pleasant. It fell apart really quickly when I cut it up and felt like a piece of meatloaf on lettuce that was not seasoned the best. The cheese slices on top weren't great either, but I did appreciate the dressing it came with. It honestly felt like the salad was missing something when I realized I never got the crispy onions that were supposed to be on top of it. Very clean, great service, attentive staff, and burgers never cooked to order. They're good, don't get me wrong (not great, but good). I went here on a Monday night and it was very quite and relaxed. Not busy at all which was great. We started with the chili nachos which were made with potato chips instead of tortilla chips and it was quite good. Then I got the Philly Steak burger which I recommend and my friend got the Baja burger which was really good but it does have a spicy kick with whole jalapeno slices so be careful if you don't like spicy. I also suggest the truffle parm tots, they were perfectly crispy. It was a good spot if you're looking for a good burgers. There is plenty of parking here so that shouldn't be an issue. read more

Visiting from Florida and decided to meet family at Plan B. Don't have one of these in Florida so I was skeptical, but I heard great things. They have great appetizers to start, many burgers to choose from and I was not disappointed. Cute place, with high top tables that are comfortable. Our waitress Jo Jo was the best! So friendly and always on top of everything. She knew went to refill your drink even before you knew your drink was low. Two Stars - Great Service, Disappointing Food "Plan B" ironically reminded me why I should always stick with "Plan A." The restaurant itself is nicely done and the service was genuinely great -- friendly, attentive staff and a comfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the setting. I ordered the short rib sandwich with grated cheese, which I believe was a special. It came with fried sweet potatoes that were burned and completely lacked sweetness. The caramelized onion dip had the same burnt, bitter taste -- not sweet or balanced at all. Oddly, the complementary pickles, which were cured in what felt like pure salt, ended up being the most enjoyable part of the plate. As for the sandwich, it wasn't terrible in flavor, but it was overwhelmingly greasy. Between the short rib, cheese, and what seemed like a butter-soaked bun, it was literally dripping with oil. After being seated, my waitress came over with a warm welcome and shortly thereafter, she brought out my drinks. Even gave a few recommendations from the menu. Now for an appetizer, I decided on their American Nachos. Two patties both juicy and well seasoned. Cheddar cheese making for a nice slide on the beef and 2 strips of maple bacon for that salty and sweet connection with a spiced maple aioli that was not only spicy but creamy and sweet. Let us not forget the fried eggs that only elevated the overall taste in the Double Day and something that I would definitely order again. Those crispy tater tots came packed with some fresh potato activity! They were crispy and not overcooked at all. I dipped them into the spiced maple aioli and the playing field was no longer fair!! It took the bite up a notch and I was a satisfied man. For dessert, I went with the funnybone - nice chocolate with the peanut butter ganache, creamy and smooth but I also went with the b cup, much like a hostess cupcake....Rich. chocolate, creamy and with as fudge like consistency, it all just worked together. Plan B in West Hartford has been my favorite burger spot for years. We were in the Southington area and decided to stop at this location. The burgers and beer were equally delicious. Service was a bit slow but it is a pretty busy spot so not much to complain about there. First time visit on Saturday. We found it by riding by, so signage is ample. A little concerned and hesitant due to the fact that there was NO wait on a Saturday night. Decor fresh and modern. The menu has a variety of items to order. I ordered the pretzel burger and classic french fries. My guy ordered fish and chips and an order of apecy glazed cauliflower. My burger was cooked to perfection... I mean absolutely perfect. I like my burger well-done. Not only was it cooked to perfection... it was, what looked like a "hand-shaped" burger. I had never had cauliflower made that way... Delicious. So glad we decided to stay. I told my son who has never been to Plan B that Plan B makes amazing burgers and they did not disappoint! Flavorful, juicy, with fresh toppings. We began with the flavored lemonade! If the ask you if you want one yes you do. I had the mushrooms and Swiss. WOW! Delicious! Accompanied by the parmesan fries. My whole being was happy. Very very disappointing. It was our 1st time at this Plan B location and our 1st time back to any Plan B in quite some time. We had previously frequented the Milford store and always had a great experience, but moved a few years back. The Southington location is now the closest to us and we decided to take the trip there since we were always so happy at Plan B. Unfortunately, this was not the Plan B we had expected it to be. Not the Plan B that was one of our favorite places when we lived in Orange. My wife ordered the whiskey smash(always one of our favorites) and either the bartender was taking a woefully bad shortcut or management changed the recipe due to cost. This was always whiskey, muddled lemon and mint, simple syrup and a bit of club soda with shaved ice. This disappointing drink was whiskey with sour mix, a splash of water and a mint leaf garnish. AWFUL. We aren't the types to complain unless there is a horrible issue since we both have spent our younger years in the restaurant business. So we didn't say anything and, if this was the only issue, we wouldn't be here right now, but the evening continued. Our food came out. My wife ordered the burger salad with her patty "some pink". It was well done.... Very well done. She tried, but couldn't do it. Reluctantly she decided that she needed to send it back because it was just inedible for someone that eats a burger medium rare. This leads to the next issue. After the expo dropping our food, our server was nowhere to be found. Restaurant 101: After a table's food is dropped, swing by and see if they need anything and if everything is ok. This didn't happen. After about 10 minutes(an eternity in this type of situation) my wife had to "flag her down" from across the restaurant. It wasn't busy either...not even remotely and it's a Saturday night, so that's also a bit telling. We let our server know that the burger was overcooked and she had the kitchen make another one. It came out slightly less over, but still well done again. To add to our adventures, it also had the wrong cheese on it. We decided to cut our losses and just not say anything else. What was the point? Moving on.... shortly into our entrees, we had empty glasses on our table and no server in sight(not even to check in on the remade burger patty). So yet again, we had to flag our server down across a relatively empty dining room since we were parched. This was just disappointing since we had always loved the Plan B in Milford. I can most certainly understand something not being great in a single instance of a meal, but there was too much to not weigh in here. I can't say for certain if this location is just not up to snuff or the brand had gone downhill, but we couldn't see ourselves ever again coming to this location at a minimum. We're going to rethink a visit to any after tonight. Side note: Since we're here, our tater tots were greasier than greasy. The fryer wasn't hot enough when they went in and they also weren't drained well in the basket after they came out. We each literally poured about a half a teaspoon of oil out of the bottom of our bowls they were in. Lastly, my chicken sandwich was dinky(about the size of a larger slider), not an entree sandwich whatsoever. Plus they forgot to put the chipotle aioli on it. I hate having to be this harsh, but management/ownership should have the opportunity to potentially right the ship, especially since this seems to be a pattern based upon the reviews I just read. Only two stars. One for the burger. One for the bartender/server. However, the place was NOT up to the standards of of other plan b locations such as Fairfield or Glastonbury (which are great, by the way). My biggest problem was the mouse that made an appearance in the bar...running to and fro before scurrying behind a booth! And my second concern was the fruit fly that was large enough to put a saddle on! I had to cover my food and cocktail between bites and sips. And, finally, although my server was very nice and efficient, her cough was pretty bad! She covered it well enough but perhaps a day off nursing it would have given me a more comfortable experience. Stopped in to enjoy nachos for NachoNovember. I hadn't yet been to Plan B in Southington but enjoy the West Hartford location. We sat at the bar and were able to order quickly. We got the sliders and nachos. The nachos were potato chips with cheese sauce and onions and beans. They were ok. The combination of chips and cheese sauce didn't necessarily work for me. The sliders were very flavorful and the bun was very soft. The fries were ok. Smothered in Parmesan. The meal was average. The restaurant is cute and service was good. Was looking for a lunch spot on Black Friday. Tried one place that was an hour wait so came to this area with the thought to go to another spot nearby and at the last minute decided to go here instead. Great decision. We'd been to other locations before but not this one. Everything was awesome and service was quick. Three of us built their own burgers, one got a pre-designed one. You got "Make Your Own" burger with your choice or choices of meat and that's really it. This business model fairs far better in a take out or burger stand scenario. I just can't justify the dine in experience and it limits the audience. Aside from the food choices which you can be well aware before you enter the doors with searching online, the service is sub par. The last time I was there on a not so busy night (Tuesday?), the young server we had was super pokey about getting us condiments or extra napkins. Pretty much anything I had asked for was a wait. At that point it was probably my 3-4 time. However it kind of put a cork in the whole restaurant for me as I was already tettering on fence given my hit or miss with other menu items I tried outside my go-to burger. Came in for a late lunch. We were greeted and seated immediately. Nice selections to choose from and as usual, I had too many things I wanted to try. I went for the burger salad. The burgers here are really good and do not need anything to enhance the flavor but it also worked well in this dish. It was a very good dish. They have 14 taps available and a big selection of adult beverages which is part of their branding. This place has a good amount of seating in case you have a large number of people going with you. We stopped in with a bus trip passing through, midday on Friday. Service was great considering how we swarmed upon them at once. Mushroom burger with truffle mayo and sweet potato fries all delicious. Chicken tacos were also a hit with our group. I've visited Plab B burger a few times and typically their food and service are great. My recent visit was subpar. Upon entering and being seated I had to wait 20 minutes to put my drink order in and then an additional 10 minutes to put my food order in. The waitress did apologize for the wait and stated the wait was because it was shift change. I ordered a margarita and nachos, both items were poorly made. The margarita was super sour as if they poured too much mix and the nachos had coarsely chopped vegetables; the size of the veggies were not appropriate for the dish. The cheese was cold and coagulated. I barely drank and ate any of it. In the future, I think their recipes for margaritas and nachos should be revised. Margaritas should have a balance of sweet and tart and the nachos should have diced or thinly sliced veggies, and hot (temperature) cheese. read more

My only complaint is the waitress didn't tell us about the happy hour specials until a few minutes before happy hour ended. Plan b was a great spot for drinks, apps, and a lunch, especially during these covid times. To start, the parking lot is free, ample, and private. Parking is not an issue. Once you walk in, they have all of the standard covid precautions in place. Masks, spacing, plastic dividers, etc. All good here. The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Drinks stayed full, food came out quickly, and the waiter was helpful in making suggestions. Drinks: I had an old fashioned. They make them in a "pre-prohibition" manner which means no fruit (per their menu). I am used to having a cherry and orange peel in my drinks, so that was a little different. Overall, well made and easy to drink. No complaints. They have a few different signature cocktails, so I think they have some good options. Lots of bourbon choices as well. Apps: We went with the jalapeno poppers and they were outstanding. They tasted like fresh peppers, and were well made. They were unlike other poppers I've had, but were very good. I'd be happy to come back just for the poppers. Dinner: we both had different options, and were happy with both. They have these green fries, which were beans. Good stuff. I hate having to leave this review. We've be going to Plan b since they first opened in West Hartford. It's been a go to chain, always very good. This review is totally focused on one menu item, the fried chicken sandwich. The one I ordered was so spicy hot I took two small bites and my mouth is still burning 30 minutes later. In fact the breading was so thick with spices, it was as thick as some fried chicken chain's thickest crispy breading. Terrible! I would have immediately complained to the manager, but this was a take out order. I'll be bringing the sandwich back there sometime soon. read more

Ketchup was empty, no salad dressing on the salad, dessert Warm Cookie Sundae was cold and crunchy. The restaurant had 4 tables out of 18 tables occupied. So clearly not busy.
