While the food was good, service left quite a bit to be desired. You would think a restaurant that specializes is making burgers would be able to do so correctly. I saw a number of patrons have to send food back because it was incorrect and then wait quite a while to get the food back. I wouldn't waste my time here. read more

The Burger, Brew & Burbon theme! Been a few times now, good food, good prices & service. The Happy hour is quite nice with a choice of about 6 appetizers ( plus sliders at multiple quantities) at 1/2 price, couple of $3-4 beers on tap & a shot of the Bourbon of the Week at $4. The regular burgers are nicely done, with a variety of toppings. The firecracker cauliflower is excellent and a plateful, shrimp quite good, and excellent sliders. The service has been excellent at Southington, bar, waitstaff and manager all have a how can we help attitude. Haven't been to Sunday HH noon to 4 to catch a game, will have to try soon. read more

I was obsessed with Plan B in Fairfield and was really sad when they closed. Came here with a friend for lunch, and our cocktails were amazing!!!! We shared a bunch of appetizers which never disappoint. The nachos are one of my favorite dishes from anywhere, highly recommend. The southern sliders and baked jalapeño poppers are also so good. read more

So off the rip just wanted to let you all know this spot gets automatic 3 stars because it's fully gluten free accommodating!! Lol okay now that I'm done with my bias statement hahah... the extra star goes for food and service. I love love the flavors of the food but wish that the jalapeños, cauliflower were cooked longer. It was a word having a crunch when I know that those dishes normally don't. I would most likely ask for well done with those next time! My friend was hoping her green beans were like Friday's restaurant style but honestly I loved them lol!! We were seated near the restroom in a half empty place . Two families came in after us and we're at least asked what they'd like to drink. I decided to take my family to another place . Upon exiting I notified the gentleman seating everyone and said "we are all set, no one came to tend to our table). The gentleman says "my bad" and tends to another family. Wasn't a good experience at all. I Called and spoke to the manager to let them know that there should have been a more professional approach by the gentleman in the front, and that our table was over looked several times. Just went to plan b in southington and I don't think I'll be back. It was lunch time and not a lot of people and only one waitress. Got wings for an appetizer and they didn't bring out plates. Wings were GIANT but the flavor was good so they were capable of being good had they been a normal size. Also got chicken tacos, not good at all. This was our first time and it wasn't the best. It took a while to get any waitstaff to our table (I'd say at least 15 minutes) and then getting just our drinks took even longer. Once we placed our appetizer and dinner order both came out at the same time! To make it worse one of our dinners were completely wrong! At this point we had waited sooooo long and with the wrong order coming out we didn't want to wait for the right thing so we just opted for a refund on the wrong item and left. It was a very disappointing experience overall. I'd like to say we would try it again but that's doubtful unfortunately. I would have rated this place 1 star but gave it 2 stars because the decor is pretty nice. It's all downhill after that. Ordered a Dirty Martini and an Old Fashion. Had to send The Dirty back to remix it because it was way too Dirty. Had to ask 3 times to bring Cherries for the Old Fashion. As far as cocktails go, stick to beer and wine at this place. We just had appetizers-wings and nachos. The nachos are kettle potato chips smothered in some kind of cheese wiz type of cheese and what appeared to be ground meat. Barely edible. The wings were ok. This was a mixed deal. This day. My father the kid and I stopped in for lunch. We had the chili which was ok spicy but not the best I've ever had. I hade the bacon blue cheese burger which I thought was decent. Now the down side. My daughter asked for her burger some pink it was tragically over cooked. Great food! They have indoor and outside seating. The inside was very clean and social distancing was enforced with tables blocked off. Each table had hand sanitizer and a touch less menu. Super slow Wednesday night. Server did NOT ask how we wanted our burgers cooked. 2 options and he didn't even ask. My drink took a very long time. Food came out. Burgers were WELL done. We are medium rare red meat eaters. My son ate his since he was super hungry. I ate maybe 1/4. My other son had a Buffalo chicken sandwich. He ate 2 bites. Wasn't an issue with the sandwich, he wasn't really hungry. Our server NEVER came back to ask how things were. Only to offer the check. My friend got a burger that was dry and overly done when she asked for medium well, she asked for sautéed mushrooms and they were cold and barely sautéed, her jalapeños were thick sliced I don't know who does that on burgers, the nachos were gross they had some ricotta cheese on top looked like old cheese sauce. For burgers being your specialty I was less than impressed. If I am paying $20/burger they should be amazing. I guess you don't cater to people who like their burgers medium rare, but my biggest complaint is that when I asked for a tomato for my burger I was brought whole cherry tomatoes. Usually a burger gets a nice large sliced tomato. My son's was missing the avocado and was just overall sub par. Considering we spent $95 for burgers and pretzel bites for 3 of us I would have liked to have been wowed. Definitely the opposite. Instead of tortilla chips they were potato chips. Tasty but cold. Then, a tavern burger which was good and mini burgers with regular fries. Fries were cold. Ours drinks were constantly empty and I had to remind the bartenders several times. I asked for water and got a glass of ice. Lol! I will wait a few months and try again. The hostess/waitstaff was great. Nice atmosphere and seating. The burger itself was very good. The problems stemmed from asking for no pickle on the burger salad yet receiving a salad with pickles all over it, and the parmesan fries were stone cold. Very poor execution from the kitchen. Also, why is there an up charge for the Parmesan fries if they are the same price as the regular fries when you purchase them as a side item. This is a bad and confusing look. I'm a big fan of the flagship Plan B Tavern in West Hartford. This one is in a busier location on Queen St right off Rte 84. Same awesome food, friendly staff, great beer list. Welp, I decided to try Plan B again after not being able to place a take out order last time. Now tried to order on a Tuesday night, surely not a busy night when it comes to restaurants. Called, went to voicemail. Called a while later, went to voicemail. So then I went on their website and it showed they were open. So, I tried to put an online order in and............the site wouldn't allow me to do so. It said the next available pick up day was today, Wednesday the 8th. I've been to Plan B in both West Hartford and Glastonbury, and was excited to try it Southington. Unfortunately, my burger that I asked for with "some pink" was SO dry that I had to send it back. I think that this location needs to retrain their cooks on what some pink and no pink is, because the table behind us had the same issue. The burger was dry and burnt on the bottom when they asked for pink as well. I will give the location another try at some point and will chalk this up to it being a busy, new location with cooks who need a little more training on consistency. read more
