My family and I just got off the lake at Willow Creek and we were very hungry so we stopped here to eat. We stood at the counter for a minimum of 5 minutes and absolutely NO ONE greeted us. I saw at least 3 people working and all 3 of them looked at us at different times but not one of them spoke. Not a "hello." Not a "we'll be with you in a min." Nothing!! Horrible! Yes you can still have it your way at Burger King. I was hungry after a long day of driving and remembered there was a McDonald's at the Folsom Outlet Mall of I-5. Well, the McDonald's closed down but I spied a Burger King across the way. I ordered a cheeseburger with custom toppings, got a small fry for $1 with the app and a free onion ring from rewards. Add in a medium coke all for $6.48. What a deal. Was the food good? I have aBK near my house that I rarely go to. It's not my favorite chain. However, this meal was great. Service was excellent at the drive-thru. The burger had that nice flame grilled taste, was piping hot, as were the crispy fries and onion rings. Drink was perfect. So yes fast food sometimes deserves a five star rating, this meal brought me Back to my childhood and was a great road meal. The woman working the drive through on Monday night, December 22, was the most rude person I've ever encountered in 50 years of using fast food. First she couldn't seem to understand me as I try three times to tell her that I wanted a number five, large sized, with a coke. It was like I was talking to a bad AI customer service bot on a phone with no signal. When I grew frustrated, she got snippy with me. This Burger King on Iron Point was good at one time, but the last 2 times I've been there, it's been terrible. First time, I received hashbrowns mostly uncooked, stuck together and pool of oil in the bottom of the container. Knock on wood. I've been one of the rare customers that regularly frequent this BK's drive thru and experienced no major issues. I can't say that about all the drive thrus I frequent. I'm not devaluing other Yelpers experience here. Just thinking out loud that I've been luckier than others. I usually go here during the weekday dinner time or during the day on weekends, so I don't know what the service is like during the early breakfast hours and late night hours. I gotten my food timely and served hot. No missing items. But the last time I was here, I got chicken nuggets that I did not order. Can't really complain about that though. The hamburgers are tasty. Surprisingly nice experience. The guy behind the counter could not have been more friendly and helpful. He actually apologized that BK no longer has the vegetarian burger in the size for a full size whopper. My food came out fast. My fries were probably the freshest I've ever had at a Burger King. We ordered two BK Big Fish sandwiches & large order of onion rings. The best part of the meal was the onion rings. They were cooked perfectly & extra crispy. Before the pandemic Burger King was our favorite place to go for fish sandwiches. Not any more. We were extremely disappointed... the fish sandwiches are much smaller than they used to be. Positives: decent sandwich, heavy on the Mayo so ask for lite to none if you are hitting that new 2021 diet. Fries were hot and ready and salty. Negatives $15 for 2 generic chicken sandwiches and a medium fry. Here's the kicker... I asked for a ranch and a bbq sauce, but was told I could only have one... I clarified as this was confusing to me (I got three items, so technically I should really get 3 sauces no problem- 1 per item, and in worse case, I'll settle for 2 - 1 per $6 sandwich...). Still no change. Dumbfounded, I asked again and was told only one sauce for my whole order. The exception to the rule was more than one sauce if I got chicken nuggets.... HMM. I've come by this location a few times a week for food (breakfast/lunch) and although they state they're open at 6am-I've come between 7-8am and no one answers the drive thru. Yesterday I came thru at 7:50am and waited almost 10 minutes at the speaker then drive to the window to ask if they're open and a lady saw me and turned off the menu board lights and kept walking-I was never spoken to and she never came to the window. Poor, poor Burger King. He must have died. That's th he only reason I can fathom why his food is so BAD. This evening Indid a mobile order using the app. I ordered a whopper and a Beyond Beef whopper for my wife. Upon arrival the store was empty as well as the drive through. No excuses, iscwhat I'm getting at. I watch as the person behind the kitchen equipment prepares my burgers. He reaches into a plastic try and removes a patty, slaps it onto the bun and prepares the burger. I am unable to see him add the lettuce, tomatoes or anything else that goes onto it. He then wraps the burger and starts the other burger. Again he pulls the patty from a warming drew and with no care whatsoever throws it onto the bun. Again I am unable to see him prepare the remainder of the burger. I drive quickly home and sit at the table with my wife. We unwrap the burgers and are sorely disappointed at what we see. Upon opening the burgers there are scraps of lettuce, only one piece about 1/2" ×1/2" in size. A thinly slice of tomato two pieces of pickles and a slice of onion. The bottom bun had nothing on it. The top bun had a small amount of souce or mayonnaise. My burger had maybe four small pieces of lettuce scraps and the same condiments. The burgers were not hot. They were mildly warm. The overall quality of the burger was poor at best. My wife did enjoy the flavor of the Impossible burger patty. It's a shame it was bastardized by the overall poor quality of the burger itself. I will not be visiting this Burger King again. I would advise the franchise owner and the corporate management to do an undercover shopper on this store and see for yourself what I'm talking about. I also invite the store manager to call or text me. You need to know what's going on in your store. And if you already know the poor quality of food you are putting out, then you should be fired!!. Just take a look at your Yelp reviews....two stars. The Greenback store has one and a half stars. Not only should you be striving to do better, you should be doing better at every opportunity.
