Had to come to Folsom for an MRI and remembered this place had a decent burger and so I decided to stop. A rainy Sunday. Lazy kind of day. Burger was cooked after ordering. The meat was seasoned nicely but the cheese was so THIN! I saw that it was there but couldn't really taste it. The bun was soft and fluffy and held up pretty well to the double patties. The fries were hot and crispy with skin on. Ordered at the counter and the service was straight forward. The restaurant was clean, large and had lots of windows. I found the music a bit too loud for my taste. That's because I'm on my phone and it competes for things I'm more interested in than 80s music. Overall solid burger and fries spot. The burgers are good. The only complaint is ordering food on the computer screen at the counter. It would have been nice to have human interaction. Especially when trying to order something to add to the order such as ordering chili cheese fries was difficult and there was no option seen to apply a coupon. Last Thursday, my wife and I stopped in Wayback burgers on our way to an out of town festival. I had seen that the cheesy burger with a drink was only $7.99 and we had enjoyed our burgers last time we were here. Since our last visit, the ordering process is all done by a kiosk, which was very easy to navigate. Our burgers came out quickly and we're done just right. I ordered on DoorDash pickup and arrived 10 mins after I placed my order. I then had to wait an additional 35mins for my order. The main issue here is 4 plus people came in after me, ordered and left before I did. I saw my order sitting there on the table and they would make the other peoples food who ordered after me. My husband and I were in the Folsom area and decided to give Wayback Burgers a try. Parking was a bit tight and crowded, but once inside, the restaurant had plenty of seating and felt roomy. The menu was easy to navigate and the staff was friendly--our cashier asked all the right questions, including if we wanted drinks, sides, or sauces, which I appreciated since I always forget to ask for ranch! My husband ordered the Double Bacon burger and a Red Velvet shake, and I went for the large cheese curds with ranch. The burger, according to him, was decent but a little on the flat side, and while I tried a bite of the bacon, it didn't really stand out. The cheese curds, however, were really tasty fresh out of the fryer and especially good dipped in ranch--definitely had me going "MMM" on the first bite. The highlight of the meal was the milkshake--it came with a mini slice of red velvet cake and had an amazing taste and texture. My husband even said it might be one of the best milkshakes he's ever had. Overall, the food was okay--not bad, not great--but the milkshake alone made the visit worthwhile. Poor service attitude and expensive food. I tried to give this place several opportunities.since they offer halal options I always like to give fast food places extra shots to do well. Problem is it's basically $12 for a burger and fries, add a drink and it's $16 per person. For $8 more you can get a mediocre milkshake but hey it's traditional American food. My biggest issue here is the crew, these guys whine and complain about their shifts, the customers , poor management and the orders they have to make. I tried their classic burger with Cajun tots and chili cheese fries. You can never go wrong with the classic. It doesn't seem to go out of style. For a burger with two Beef Pattie's, it's smaller than other places I usually get a burger from. Chili cheese fries kind of reminded me of Wiener schnitzels, just topped over with chili and cheese. I've been here twice now, most recently this afternoon. Since I ordered chili fries the last time we were here, my daughter insisted that I try a burger today. So, I ordered a cheeseburger with bacon, Swiss cheese, chipotle bleu cheese aoili, grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The portion wasn't huge, but was more than enough for me, and seemed fair for the price and quality. All of the ingredients were fresh, but the meat really stood out. It was definitely better than most of the competitors, including In N Out, Habit, Smashburger, and Red Robin. It was almost on par with Burgers & Brew or Gott's. The bacon was also good, and did not have that chemical taste that cheap bacon usually has. As to the sauce, bleu cheese is hit or miss, and this was a hit.
