The queso was great with just enough kick but the chips were cold and seemed stale. Which isn't a surprise with the crazy humidity lately but it's something that ought to be checked and addressed when needed. The Taproom burger was tasty and made with very fresh ingredients. The pretzel roll and all the toppings made the burger a challenge to get a bite, messy in a good way. The bistro burger was great and I had half of my partner's for lunch the next day. It was great as a leftover. I ordered my fries crispy, but the kitchen didn't get the memo, again. The booth was very comfortable and the room was delightfully cool but not cold. It was quiet enough for conversation but not so quiet that you're afraid to break the silence. Tips: Check their app - "hops for pops" scored a free draft pint on fathers day. Expect some great burgers.

If you have ever driven up or down I-24 in Middle Tennessee then there is a good chance that you…read morehave seen a few Toot's billboards! This Toot's, situated at the corner of NW Broad and Medical Center Parkway is the OG for the restaurant. While there are others, there is only one original Toot's! Folks ask how I would describe this Toot's location and every time I have them picture a local Hooters without the uniform mixed with a Cracker Barrel with a Panama City Beach vibe...While I could say many other things, that usually sums it up and is pretty spot on. Toot's is definitely a brand and is well known in the area, and quite popular as they have multiple locations around the 'boro. The brand has been built off of local vibes, cheap food and friendly service. While Toot's is a local institution, there really is nothing wildly special about what they offer. Most of their menu is standard from burgers, sandwiches, wings, seafood, salads, etc...and within that menu, most of those items are fried. So, if you are counting calories, Toot's is not the spot for you! They are famous for their fried pickles, so you know we started with an order. The pickles are lightly breaded, crispy and served with ranch dipping sauce. Again, nothing special...even from their specialty item. For our mains we both got a 15 count of wings, I went cajun dry rub and my pal went buffalo. The wings were the best part of the meal for sure. They were fried well, seasoned nicely, plump and juicy...all the things you want from a wing! For our sides, my buddy went fries and I went side caesar salad. His fries were standard, but done well. My salad was a bit odd, as it was legit a side salad including onions, boiled eggs, cucumber, etc...with caesar dressing. I guess I should have been more descriptive or inquisitive when I initially ordered it. Pricing was excellent, surprisingly affordable, especially for the service sizes! Service was good. Greeter was friendly and sat us quickly, and our server was friendly, engaging and efficient. No issues with service at all. I can see the allure for the local crowd. This can be a decent spot for a well priced and filling meal, and can even be a good place to belly up to the bar and watch some sports. While I would not go out of my way to visit Toot's, I definitely wouldn't say no on occasion as a local.

If you live in the Boro and you're hunting for a wing-and-beer spot, stop scrolling and head…read morestraight to the original location on NW Broad serving up goodness since 1985. This place has bar seating, high tops, booths... basically whatever level of wing commitment you're comfortable with. We grabbed seats at the bar, and the service was quick, friendly, and on point. To kick things off, my wife ordered a frosty Blue Moon with the classic orange slice. I went with water... mainly because I needed to stay focused for the wing mission ahead. First up: Fried Dill Pickles. These were absolutely fantastic, lightly battered, crispy, flavorful, and dangerously addictive. If you skip these, you're already making bad life choices. Now for the main event... the food! I used to be a die-hard bone-in wing guy, but Toot's Buffalo-Style Chicken Fingers may have converted me. I ordered 10 fingers, 5 Mango Habanero (because apparently I enjoy sweating while eating) and 5 Honey BBQ to cool my taste buds back down. Both were finger-lickin' good, and the side of tots sealed the deal. My wife ordered the Chicken Finger Salad because she thought she was making a healthy choice... until chicken fingers showed up on top. Nice try, babe. Bottom line: if you live in the Boro, or you're heading there for college, you need to try this place. We live in Franklin and gladly make the 30-minute drive for a Toot's road trip. That should tell you everything. Wings worth driving for? That's not a meal... that's a lifestyle.

Ordered the Toots club sandwich with fries and a buffalo chicken wrap with coleslaw. The club sandwich was very good, it would have been better if the fries would have been at least warm instead of cold. Wife said her wrap was very good and had the right amount of sauce on it and the slaw was very good. Very well lit and clean. Much better than the other one in Murfreesboro.

They were fresh, hot, with a nice crust, and were super light. I ordered the buffalo tenders, un-sauced with ranch dressing. They were very good and the french fries paired perfectly with them. The ambience of this restaurant was very lively. And despite the fact that the restaurant was fairly full, service time did not take super long. The only thing that could've made this visit better, would have been if my actual server would have at least been a tiny bit more tentative to our table. When we came in our server was on break, which is fine. So our order was taken by a fellow waitress and delivered by other staff members. With that being said, our waitress did not even check on us to even offer a refill of water.

All I can say is it was incredible. We walked in and there was a group of musicians in the corner playing acoustic songs from multiple genres which was really relaxing and then we ordered breakfast. I got the corned beef and hash, which was amazing and my wife got the BLT which on the menu said comes with 1 pound of bacon. We thought it was a gimmick until it came to the table and it looked like something that would flip Fred Flintstone's car over. The staff was amazing and very friendly and the food again was all outstanding. It cost us $36 for breakfast for two people, and we walked out thinking that we got undercharged, that's how good it was. We will definitely be back.

Fried Tater Cafe is not that place. This is the kind of restaurant you hope to stumble across somewhere outside of town. An old building, a little history, straightforward Southern food and people who seem considerably more concerned with whether you ate enough than whether their plates are Instagram-ready. And then there are the fried taters. Crispy, salty, unapologetically fried potatoes--the sort of food that reminds you mankind occasionally gets things exactly right. Nobody needed to deconstruct them. Nobody needed to drizzle truffle oil over them. They needed hot grease, seasoning and somebody in the kitchen who knows when to pull them out. The rest of the food follows the same philosophy: familiar, filling and comforting. This isn't a place trying to reinvent Southern cooking. Thank God. It's trying to feed you. The old building and its history make the whole thing even better. You sit there eating fried potatoes and realize people have been passing through this little corner of Tennessee for generations. Places like this increasingly disappear, replaced by chains and developments that could be anywhere in America. Fried Tater Cafe still feels like somewhere. Come hungry. Order the taters. Don't count calories. You'll survive. Five stars.

Date of Visit: July 2, 2026…read more On this afternoon my wife wanted to take me on a country drive after an overwhelming day in Murfreesboro the day before. Murfreesboro used be an easy navigable town, not no more, so many people. So off we went. Heading out towards Chapel Hill we came up the Fried Tater Cafe. After yesterday (if your following) I needed something authentic to the area and this looked the part. We both agreed to stop. Walked inside and I knew right away this going to be great. We were greeted and told to sit anywhere. Nice. Found a booth against the wall and were given menus and drink orders taken. Drinks came while still viewing the menu. I almost wanted a burger but chose the patty melt with coleslaw. I was going to have fries but they have those Checkers type fries. My wife had the BLT with Tots and after having a couple of her tots I should of had the tots. My wife even agrees, these are the best tots she has ever had and she has tots when ever offered. These had the crispy outside that you can bite into without crushing and fluffy innerds mmmmm. But getting back to my patty melt. The menu said it came with thousand island dressing. I would usually hold the TI, but now I'm in a phase where I order with no substitutions. So I took it with the Thousand island. And so glad I did, it did something to it. Don't know if everyone does this but wow. And the slaw was good too, though I wish I had gotten the tots, next time tots. The wife and I will be back here next time in town for sure, if just for the drive. Peace.
