Came here awhile back and enjoyed their burgers, fries, and shakes. Upon entering, we noticed how clean and organized everything was. Place your order with the cashier, she was friendly and quick. You are given a number card. Plenty of seating available. There is no server here, your order is brought to your table when it is ready. Restrooms are in the middle of the restaurant and they are super clean. They also have a hand washing station right in the middle of the restaurant, love it. I really appreciate the customer service here. Everyone was incredibly friendly. The gentleman who prepared our meal even came out at one point and asked us if we were enjoying our meal. He spoke to us for a bit about the history of Burger 21. I thought that was very sweet and professional of him to ask the customers if they were enjoying their meals. I love that they have a sauce bar. I am all about dipping sauces and they have some unique flavors: Apple Cider, Thai Ketchup, and Toasted Marshmallow to name a few. I really enjoyed the Cheese and Ale Fries. The fries are thin and crisp. The cheese sauce had a nice consistency and had great flavor. Their burgers are delicious. The bun is soft, yet holds everything together. The meat patty could have had more flavor but the consistency was on point. The quality of meat is also very good. All the toppings inside added lots of flavor to the burger as a whole. Definitely try their shakes, they have a nice variety of flavors. The ice cream was smooth, creamy, and not overly sweet. This may not be the best burger out there, but when you add on their delicious fries, unique sauce bar, tasty shakes, clean and friendly environment. What else could a gal ask for? Great experience, great service and yummy food!!! I feel so bad for everyone who had a bad experience, maybe I just got really lucky that night. You first come in and order and find a seat and they bring it to you. The restaurant is spacious and clean with alot of tables and booths. Our milkshakes and food came out pretty quick for a semi-busy night. I ordered the cookies and cream milkshake made with oreos, simple and delicious. My boyfriend ordered the banana foster milkshake, it was too sweet for me but he enjoyed it. For the burger I got the black and bleu with onion strings on top. Oh boy, it definitely hit the spot. Cheat meal gone wild. The meat was flavorful, thick and juicy. The kind of juicy that runs downs your hands when you bite into it. I finished that bad boy quick. We ordered the fries with Ale Cheese dip, it's a cheesy dip with bacon and scallions. Perfect with the thin shoe string fries. I also dipped my fries into the most amazing sauce - thai ketchup. I could put that ish on everything!!! They offer many other different sauces from ragin cajun to toasted marshmellow sauce. Overall, Burger21 to be one of my favorite burger places in the area. Beats five guys any day! It's a little more on the expensive side for a burger joint but its very delicious. I ordered the cheesy burger: Classic cheeseburger; I got it with cheddar (but you can get it with American or Swiss) on a toasted brioche bun. They'll serve the temperature you prefer-I'm a medium rare girl and this burger was seasoned and cooked perfectly to taste. My dining partner ordered the Tex-Mex Haystack: a burger with lettuce, tomato, applewood-smoked bacon, Gouda cheese, guacamole, onion strings, chipotle-jalapeño sauce, on a toasted brioche bun. It didn't last long on the plate. We split a regular order of fries-was just enough as the burgers are rich and decent portions. The fries are good-not Five Guys addictive, but they'll do the trick every time. I was pleasantly surprised to see numerous types of dipping sauces; I played it safe and just tried the Thai ketchup; was perfectly spiced with a little heat to regular ketchup. We tried a double chocolate chip cookie: super fresh and decadent. The staff are friendly and walk around bussing tables. I'd like to try their shakes and the new Marley Meltdown: (jerk seasoned chicken burger, topped with Monterey Jack cheese, crispy plantain chips, our house-made Caribbean ketchup on a bed of fresh mango salsa and served on a toasted brioche bun) my next trip (why oh why is it bathing suit season?). First time here and impressed with the clean modern atmosphere. LOVE that there is a hand washing station in the middle of the restaurant so you can eat with clean hands, and wash off all the grease after you finish. Ordered the Black and Blue burger with a side of fries which set me back $13. Burger was delicious, though maybe not as big as I was hoping. The amount of fries was decent though. It had been awhile since I've been to Burger 21 (or anywhere for that matter), but this trip was just as good as last time. My 101 Burger was great, the patty was thick, juicy, and well-done, the bun was toasted right and not soggy, and per usual I enjoyed the many condiments this restaurant had to offer (my recommendations are the Chipotle Mayo and the Thai Ketchup). The side of fries was surprisingly big for a side order, and they were crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. My only complaint is that I ordered an over-easy egg to top my burger but received over-hard. However, this was a very minor mistake, and I am much more grateful to the staff who are working during the pandemic than I am bothered by this mistake. They were very gracious and kind, and were all wearing masks and staying conscious of safety guidelines. Overall a great, social-distancing-friendly trip. read more

3/24/19 Back at Loudoun Station again and I am getting hungry. Since I am not in the mood for Senior Tequila today, Burger 21 is where I am going. Just placed my order with a male staff member this time, but the voice sounds familiar. The male repeated back everything I ordered and was very professional. So far everything seems to be on track on this warm Spring day. The sun is shining and the clouds are almost gone. Blue skies are smiling on the faces of the people I have seen. Let's see if I am smiling later on... upon checking my order, I saw that it was incorrect. I spoke with Andrew the manager, and he apologized and quickly fixed the problem. I am aware mistakes happen and I am glad Andrew was there to get the problem taken care of. The restaurant is the busier than the last time j was here. I've got to say I am beyond impressed. When I go out looking for a good burger, I usually think of Red Robin or BGR. This place opened up and today was the first time I went in. It has a very elegant, modern feel with the perfect combination of ordering up front and a server bringing you the food minutes later once you've had enough time to explore the facility and find out what this place has to offer. So before even having the food, I was happy to experience friendly customer service by two young ladies and the beautiful, high-class feel I from the architecture, paint, and furniture. Now comes the best part: the burger itself. I usually order a medium burger and today I decided to try the Cinco Burger which of course has a more Latin inspired idea to it. Needless to say (and I did tell my partner in crime this) it was the one of the best burgers I've had if not the best. Wonderful quality in the taste of the meat, the perfect amount of juiciness for which I normally beg, and even the fancy, steel tray and cup the burger was served in are a couple of reasons why I loved it. The sauces were all fantastic even the silly marshmallow one that turned out to be not so bad. I can't say it enough but I will just prove how much I love this place by going again this week. Ordered a cheesy burger with fries and a Lemonade. My fries were old and cold. I went back and requested fresh fries. What I got was my old fries dropped back into the cooking oil and back to me. I tossed the fries away. I felt uncomfortable eating them. Everyone don't tamper with your food, but this time it felt different. I now remember why I don't like to eat out. Two serious questions: why have I never written a review for Burger 21? And why haven't I been here in so long? My absolute favorite burger in Loudoun County can be found here. Their burgers are always juicy and flavorful. My go-to is the Shroom Burger - crimini mushrooms, caramelized onions, a good dollop of roasted garlic aioli, swiss cheese, and tomato sandwiched between two fluffy, buttery brioche buns. It's a 1/3 lb angus beef in that burger, but because of the creative and always happily married toppings they put on top, it becomes a deliciously messy masterpiece that pleads to be cut in half or if you're brave/a burger pro, two hands to eat. Their french fries and sweet potato fries are also VERY good. I like to get a half and half order going with my burger - half french, half sweet potato. Both always so crispy and perfectly fried. And definitely take a look at the sauce station - i love sauces. Any place that gives me an array of them in a self-serve setting will definitely get bonus points. They have everything from Chipotle Mayo (my fave for french fries) to Toasted Marshmallow (please try this if you get the sweet potato fries) and everything in between like Ranch, Mustard, BBQ, Rajin Cajun, etc. If you haven't found your favorite burger yet and you're in the area, please give Burger 21 a try. I haven't been able to bring myself to order anything other than beef here, but I have heard rave reviews about their Monterey Chicken sandwich, and Spicy Thai Shrimp Burger. Super Accommodating to Food Allergy Concerns! Great Community member offering fundraising opportunities for Schools! I can not say enough good things about Burger 21 and their Manager, Alexis. My son has severe food allergies that limit his ability to eat out, so I was unsure if we would be able to partake in my son's Spirit Night event. I spoke to Alexis about my concerns to see if they could cook a hamburger for him on separate cookware. She said they could, but also stated that they could heat up a small pot of oil just for him and make him fries as well! My son has literally only had fries at one other restaurant due to concerns around cross contamination. This first event was 3 years ago and we keep going back regularly. They have even told us to call ahead and they will put the pot of oil on beforehand since it takes a bit to heat up. Really dang awesome burger! Seriously.... I got the loaded spud burger. When it came out, I was super impressed with how clean and neat it looked. Makes eating it very easy. Also, it came with this delicious cheesy sauce. We had the shareable size chili cheese fries. The fries were great. Nicely thin and crunchy - BUT! It was lacking in chili cheese. It has about it 1/4 cup of chili cheese on it. It was incredibly disappointing. I did complain and told them "theres a sorry amount if chili on it." And they did not hesitate to bring out more. Problem was it took a while. Think the manager forgot. Anyway, thats the minus 1 star. Other than that, they are able to cook the perfect burger patty. Ordered the veggie burger and a side of fries. Food came out pretty quickly, less than 15 minutes after ordering. The veggie burger was very mediocre, they used a frozen morningstar patty which I also make by myself at home so recognized it instantly. Run of the mill burger bun and uninspiring condiments completed the rather insipid burger. Fries were quite frankly terrible, again just some generic frozen variety. Staff was really nice and friendly which deserves one star and the wide variety of dipping sauces gets another. Don't think its enough to make me return. read more

Impossible burger was okay, but I had just taken a bite of the black and blue burger which was really good. Gluten free buns were great and didn't fall apart at all. Fries. Are. Garbage. This burger joint chain offers a variety of burgers, including seafood burgers (which is different from the other burger places). It's fast casual, so order at the counter, pick your own table, and mark it with your order number placard. There's a good amount of seating, but I find the dining area to be pretty cramped, making it hard to maneuver around tables. You'll want to get up to grab your own fountain drinks, wash your hands in that common sink located across the drink and sauce bar, and grab some sauces to dip your fries in. Overall the food is good. Burgers are juicy and cooked to order and fries are thin-cut, golden crisp. I tried the Tex Mex and really enjoyed the onion straws that was on them. The brioche buns are nice and soft and hold the burger together well. If you are a fry lover and have to, ahem, share fries with another fry lover, I would suggest opting getting the largest fry size. Otherwise, a single fry lover can easily demolish the large fry size, which is comparable to something in between a McD's med and large size. They seem to come seasoned, but it's so sparse it's mostly for show. Every month they showcase a different burger and milkshake, so keep an eye out for that. This place is located where the Silver Line Metro Station will be when it reaches this area. So, as of now, the location is a little bit out there. Also, I think the price is a smidge high, but that seems to be the norm with this kind of fast casual burger joints now. read more

So on March 17, 2014, (St. Patrick's Day) my wife and I decided that we'd try Burger 21 after handling our taxes. We felt this day would be the perfect time to go because there was a small snow storm the night before and because, this Burger 21 isn't a big establishment, it would be best to come when the place isn't so packed. Upon arriving (around 4:30/5:30ish), I was immediately smiling because the place was pretty empty. There were only a few customers in the restaurant and they were waiting for there food. This was perfect because not only did we have the freedom to sit wherever we pleased, but it also gave us time to look over the menu (it was our first time), and there was no line. After about 10 - 15 minutes of looking over the menu, the decisions were in: Wife - The Bacon Cheesy with fries and a fountain drink Me - BBQ Bacon Burger with fries and a fountain drink After placing our orders we were handed a number in which we ended up placing on a little stand at our table. While the food was being prepared we decided that we would go get our drinks, condiments, utensils (just in case the burgers got messy :-D), and napkins. Upon doing that there was two things that caught our eyes that we noticed to be slightly different from some of the other burger joints that we've visited thus far. 1.) They have small sink next to the register for customers and probably employees to wash there hands if needed and 2.) They have a small section which hosts a variety of different sauces to try with your burger and fries. However, I guess being a taste test rookie I retrieved X amount of containers and tried all of sauces Burger 21 had available and some were better than the others but I am unable to tell you which one I liked more because I forgot the names of the sauces by the time I got back to my table.....lol. After stocking up on napkins, utensils, condiments (includes the sauces), and drinks our food was brought to our table. My first thoughts after looking at the finished product was that everything looked very well presented. First I tried the fries by themselves and I have to say they fries were pretty good (after trying the first handful of fries by themselves, the rest used to taste test the variety of sauces I had....lol). As for the burgers I absolutely enjoyed my burger I mean it is most definitely 2 to 3 grades higher then any of the fast food chain restaurant burgers (i.e. McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's, etc...). My wife said she enjoyed her burger as well. Overall our experience at Burger 21 was awesome. Didn't have issue on our first visit, so we will most definitely be back to try some of there other menu items. read more

Had a craving for burgers and realized I had this restaurant already bookmarked! We came at an off-peak hour (4:30 PM). The hubs and I like to eat early like "Seniors" and there were only two other couples in the entire restaurant. We were greeted as soon as we entered the restaurant and our food came out fairly quickly. I ordered the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger with sweet potato fries and the hubs ordered the Philly Burger with regular fries and we were pleasantly surprised at how juicy and delicious our burgers turned out to be. My burger was probably one of the juiciest burgers I've ever eaten and the hubs said the same about his burger. The toppings were also nice and fresh too! The french fries and sweet potato fries were equally delicious, thin and crispy and well-seasoned. We went all out and ordered the Bananas Foster milkshake to share and it was one of the best shakes I've had, rich, delicious and creamy and not cloying as one might expect. . .One of the managers stopped by our table at the end of our meal to check-in to see how things were which I thought was a nice gesture! I love how they have feature burgers and milkshakes and a variety of dipping sauces, like toasted marshmallow and Thai ketchup! I happen to love the mini sliders and fries with an Oreo shake when I visit. I am one of those "well done" people, and they seem to get it right 99% of the time. Of all my visits, there was only one time where it was not correct. Instead of making a big deal, I ate my fries and took the burgers home. They were perfect after a few seconds in the microwave! :-) If you are a fan of sauces, they have many options from traditional ones to not-so-traditional ones to add to fries, burgers, or to just sip through a straw (it happens)! I was very surprised that this place produces such good burgers! With many "fast-food" establishments, you'd expect a frozen pre-made patty--not here. The burger was cooked medium-well with just enough pink. It was AMAZING. I ordered the "black & bleu" burger (beef, blue cheese crumbles, lettuce, tomato, and bacon) it was good. I also ordered sweet potato fries which were just as delicious! Burger 21 also has an array of sauces like Thai Ketchup and Chipotle Mayo.
