This is an update to my previous review and covers the 2 years since it was written…read more I have been coming to Lakeside-Regal for my physical therapy since I lost my ACL tendon in 2023, and I can't tell you how amazing they've been. They helped me through ACL reconstruction surgery and got me active again. I'm a very active person, especially for a senior (I play tennis, do karate, surf, and work out at the gym), so over the last 3 years, I've seen a lot of these wonderful people, off and on. I push myself too hard, and they help put me back together! Everyone I've worked with is very knowledgeable among the PT staff, and the front desk people are really organized. Molly is my #1 physical therapist, and she's terrific. She's supportive of my active lifestyle and always helps me understand how I can do what I want to do in the safest, healthiest way. She's like a top mechanic for my body -- she gets me back on the road! (I've also worked with Matthew, Thomas, and Arbi, and they're great too.) I'd like to shout out to the front desk staff, who are so organized and keep things running smoothly: Gen, Ivonne, and Chelsie -- thank you!

BEWARE bad billing/business practices…read more I specifically asked Lakeside before treatment whether they were in-network with my insurance plan, and the front desk told me yes. Based on that information, they collected the standard in-network co-pay at the time of my visit. Afterward, I received a bill for more than $300 and later collection notices because the visit was apparently processed as out-of-network. When I contacted the office, they did not take responsibility for the misinformation or make any meaningful effort to resolve the situation, despite the fact that their own staff charged me an in-network co-pay on the day of service. My insurance ultimately agreed to waive the charges as a courtesy, but the entire experience was stressful, time-consuming, and avoidable. Patients should be able to rely on the coverage information they are given before receiving treatment. The doctor was perfectly fine, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1, but based on the billing experience alone I would not return.

He takes his time, communicates clearly, and is very knowledgeable. His targeted therapy and trigger point work have brought relief much faster than I ever expected and restored my hope in healing. Roman is reassuring, encouraging, and truly cares about his patients. You can physically feel that he knows exactly what he's doing--how to relieve pressure and strengthen the right areas. With patience and skill he got me from too scared to move to confident and ready to give birth/care for a newborn. I cannot recommend him enough especially if you are going through a sensitive recovery. Even better is that the whole office is so kind and supportive including the assistants Tyler and Pat plus the office Jasmine and Joman. It was particularly heartwarming to see how many elderly clients were treated with patience and dignity by everyone. On my initial visit the front desk staff checked me in quickly and provided the required paperwork. The facility and examination rooms are clean, modern and up to date. I was seen on time by a very professional medical staff and I was impressed by each and every person I interacted with. It was a pleasure to be taken care of in such a professional manner and I highly recommend this medical group.

So was very disappointed when simple, basic standards of care were not met on several occasions by his rude office staff. 9 out of 10 times you will be placed on hold when calling, not even a friendly voice asking if they can put you on hold, just sound of someone picking up and then sending you to hold music. Was literally on hold for 23 minutes with no live person attempting to check in. Another issue was labs, bloodwork. They will always try to get you to have them drawn in office to make more money and convenient for them. If you draw outside at different lab due to your ins, then you can forget about getting the results from them. I had to keep calling week after week to remind and follow up. Never did I get call back from Dr, instead they made me make an appointment to come in and see the doctor after weeks of waiting just to tell me that all was normal?! Then on separate visit I waited over an hour to be called Back in when I had an appointment. Never made a fuss, understood things happen. What's not right is the double standard when I was a little late to my appointment due to an emergency. Was nowhere near an hour late like they've kept me waiting on numerous occasions. Yet they will automatically turn you away if you're 16 min late and reschedule you 3 weeks away. No empathy shown, no medical questions asked to see why you even need to see the Dr, or what it took for the patient to get there. Asked if the Dr or NP can see in between other patients or wait to see if someone didn't show, and even that wasn't allowed. The receptionist refused to even ask or relay message to Dr. Stated they were "busy" and started offering dates minimum 3 weeks away! Have never witnessed such callous actions from a medical office. Basic, simple standards of care we should expect from our providers are; -getting thru to a live person without first being on hold for 22 minutes -a Dr who cares, remembers you and follows up on your lab work instead of you having to chase down results yourself. - Being able to leave a message for your doctor and get a call back. -an office staff that treats you like a patient vs a number or inconvenience. Really wanted to like this place and Dr, but the negative experiences have much outweighed any positives. Not that they care, but my husband and I will be looking for new provider. As medical professionals we DO NOT recommend this place.

This review is solely based on my experience with my Facey physician and the staff. I am happy to say that my primary care provider, Dr. Shirvanian listens and for me, that's a very important thing and something I look for when I choose a physician. She sits and spends time with me during my appointment. She asks questions, answers my questions, and offers thoughtful and helpful advice - she genuinely cares. Her nurse, is just as caring and pleasant. Other thoughts about my experience: - Provide a list of your meds if you're a new patient. - Front office reception and in-house lab are staffed with friendly, ready-to-help professionals. (They really ARE nice.) - Parking is NOT validated and is expensive; look for street parking if you have time to spare. - Online access to your records (not sure if it's ALL records) through MyChart, so you'll see your lab results, medications, have the capability to message your physician, etc. **A quick note about messaging through MyChart. There is now a longer response time, of which I, personally, was not informed. I'm still trying to find out what happened. I took one star off for that. - Finally, try your best to be kind.

They will give you bad medical advice, which is illegal. But don't worry, you won't be able to reach them because it will take hours for the phone to go through. They also started running commercials for medical scams in the waiting room on large televisions. Find somewhere else.

The practice has become overly automated, making it extremely difficult to get in touch with staff or the doctor directly. Their website, which previously allowed messaging and appointment scheduling, has not been functioning for months. On several occasions I have had to go to the ER or urgent care simply because I could not reach my primary care doctor--who is supposed to be the first point of contact. When Dr. Emil was overseeing everything, the service was excellent; he is a great doctor. However, without proper access and communication, the quality of care is lost. I have since switched to another provider who is actually available to answer a call when needed. I hope this office can resolve these issues and return to the professional standard they once had, rather than continuing the current trend of being unavailable and overcapacity.

They've been taken over by…read moreFacey and it is SOOOOO bad that I'm considering leaving this practice for anything not in that network. As others have said, you cannot just call the office. Ever. You are forced through to Facey's completely incompetent and inadequate system. I'm 3 weeks in to trying to get a copy of my medical records. They send you to MyChart but then NEVER check messages or respond. I call and I'm #21 in the queue, waiting on hold for HOURS. And it's not just during "busy times," it's ALL of the time. Put it this way, I would take the DMV any day over dealing with OSS/Facey now. Such a shame that this behemoth of monster has swallowed a once great practice.
