My first time to eat here. I ordered the turkey panini combo so it came with fries and a soda. We were there at lunch so expected it to be busy and while there were quite a number of patrons, there was no wait. The dining area had close seating, not a lot of room to maneuver. The atmosphere like a sports bar and was being slowly decorated for the Holidays. On the downside, there was a spray bottle of solution hanging on the back of one chair and most tables needed to be wiped down. There are a few TVs playing current college football games, which I appreciated. So the meal was ok, but I think my next try might be pizza. The fries were awesome and there were a lot in the order, I love fries and don't eat them often. The turkey panini was ok but there wasn't a lot of turkey in it and it didn't really have a lot of flavor. It was a hold over special from Thanksgiving, I'm not sure I had the best introduction to their menu with this order. I look forward to trying something else and hopefully it will wow me a bit more. read more

Ordered online yesterday and it was quite easy, however I ordered a large drink and it was free with rewards and they never gave it to us. My husband totally blanked when he picked up the order and forgot about it too. The salad I ordered was delicious and exactly as I requested. Other than the drink, everything was great. Stopped in here last night for a quick dinner to-go. We ordered two Buona Beef Value meals and got side salads instead of fries, which also came with a fountain drink. The beef was good, but I've had better - I would get it again but I would pass on the cheese. The side house and Caesar salads we great! Definitely worth the upcharge. The downside was that almost every pop on the fountain machine had the overpowering taste of club soda. Everything came out really quickly and correct. The staff are polite and helpful. The inside seating area had a good amount of people sitting for dinner, but it was still neat and clean. But the pop machine was a definite bummer. read more

Stopped in for lunch while in Oswego for a work meeting. Loved the ambiance and atmosphere of this joint. It reminded me of a Chipotle but Italian! The food is always great and fresh. I like the wide dejection of the menu. I do have one small suggestion. It seems as though whenever I order online and am given a pick up time, I always still end up waiting ten or fifteen minutes to get my order. Last night, I ordered at 5:00, and was given a pick up time of 5:20. When I got there, some items still weren't ready. I ended up waiting in my car for an additional ten minutes. Ten minutes isn't a crazy amount of time, but thirty minutes to make a small order of three items at a quick service restaurant seems excessive. read more

I think their chop salad is one of the best. On the pricey side but always taste fresh. However they have switch to include what amounts to a tablespoon of dressing , not even close to enough for the large salad so you are eating it dry. Gave Buona the ole two try: once done in, and then drive thru. Dine in was fine. Atmosphere easy and relaxing, staff very friendly and helpful. You order are given a number and find a table to wait for your food to be brought to you... Food was good. Just above average. Had the Turkey Delizioso first time and the Buona's original chopped the next visit. Kids had pizza and chicken tenders. Kids enjoyed both. If you order French fries be sure to get the cheese dipping sauce! Yum!!! Buona has a lot of competition with Panera for the drive thru. We waited excessively longer than a Panera drive thru. I was not impressed with this establishment. The beef sandwich that I had was very average and I actually had to put salt on to add some flavor. Probably my biggest issues with the restaurant was the lack of attention to the eating area. There were crumbs on a majority of the empty tabes and scattered on the floor. We usually get their pizzas, which are really good. Can't go wrong with their $5.00 pizza night on Thursdays. We also love all their salads! I can't find a salad at any other fast food restaurant, which are as good as Buona. The other great thing about Buona is their Buona rewards card. I use it every time I go there. Don't waste your time. Not too long ago, my son had a bone in his chicken tender and the manager shrugged us off. This was at the Darien, IL location. Tonight, I ordered three overpriced meals, received 3 sodas with absolutely no carbonation and had hard, chewy, disgusting peppers on our beef sandwiches that we spit out. Saw the restaurant from the road and liked how it looked so gave it a try. We both ordered the beef sandwich but I wanted mine dipped. The French fries were very good, tender on the inside and crispy outside. My beef was so so. The bread was a little tough like it had been put into a microwave. I ordered it dipped but was much dryer than I was expecting. The beef wasn't piled high like you'd get at Jason's Deli nor was it as tender. My wife's sandwich was equally as disappointing as mine and she didn't even finish it. Perhaps we came on an off day but we weren't impressed. The food here is amazing. There is one disappointing thing, there is an option of a side of Garlic Parmesan Chips which tasted amazing. Then one day I came back and asked for them and what I got was lay's chips that had Parmesan on them. They tasted disgusting they were so salty. Before they actually freshly baked the chips ,but now they went cheap and now the chips taste terrible. I will still recommend Bouna Beef, but not the chips. read more

Let's start off saying Buona Beef has way more than beef. Their beef by the way is better than Portillos. They also have a variety of sides when you order a combo. Also look out for their coupons. They have a ton of different ones online. They also just started a rewards program so make sure you sign up. They have an app for it for Android and iPhone. We ordered a bowl of chicken penne soup, strawberry and blueberry spinach salad, turkey sandwich and chicken artichoke sandwhich all for 16 dollars. What a deal. We had 10 off 25 so it was a great value. Why pay more elsewhere? Well you will if your a fool. read more

This is where I ended up when my bf tried to convince me that there was a Potbelly's in Oswego. There's not. I was skeptical of BB from the start, there was one near my old house (Hanover Park..what what) and I never went there bc it didn't seem like anything special. I figured that If I wanted a beef I would go to Portillos...I should have stuck with those instincts. Anyhow, we ended up here one Sunday afternoon and the service was okay. It took a long time to get our food but at the time I thought it would be decent so I didn't mind waiting a couple minutes longer than I usually would for a similar item. I ordered a burger and a side of pasta salad. My bf got a steak sandwich and fries. My food SUCKED. I love onions, but the red onion was ridiculously overpowering, probably to cover up the garbage pail taste of that God awful meat. Ugh, it was the biggest waste of burger eating ever I'd say. If I'm going to eat a burger, it better be damn good (ie Meatheads/Portillos). This was inedible. The pasta salad was a joke, it tasted like rotini...like with no oil, spice, vinegar, nothing. Thanks for the 2 slices of black olive and broccoli though. The food my bf got was equally unappealing, I tried the sandwich and the bread was ridiculously hard and steak overcooked. He ate it after drowning it in A1. I guess condiments can be the great equalizer. In my case, there is not enough ketchup in Costco to make me want to eat that dry, stinking slab of burger. In their defense, my bf stated, "well maybe we should have stuck with the beef", but I completely disagree. Do I exclusively order hot dogs at Portillos? No. Even if their beefs were delish, which I will never know because the place sucks on the whole, I don't think it's right to be at their price point when the rest of the food is disgusting. Perhaps they need to narrow the menu down and take a cue from places such as Portillos. I have celiacs disease which means anything with gluten in it I can't eat- find a restaurant that is gluten free, convenient, has a large selection and has amazing customer service and you are talking about the Buona Beef in Montgomery. Hard to give appropriate number of stars as I would give them 4 stars for the food as it is good but my complaint is with the dirty silverware. I'm not talking about just water spots but actual food which is a concern. This happened twice and I brought it up to manager and he said there wouldn't be a third time.... well there was. Ordered a few sandwiches off of the Grubhub app. Grubhub completely failed to deliver the order, after an hour and a half no delivery. I feel like this review is mostly a 'note to self.' If given the choice for a beef sandwich, this hadn't been the place I would choose...I've eaten here a handful of times but I've never really been as completely taken with it as some of my friends. However, when a 8 year old asks you to join his family for dinner, how can you say no!? So I was in line with the kids and they were ordering the kids meal with pizza and my little friend turns to me and says "Its really good." So, I ordered the same! The man behind the counter said "I hope it is enough to fill you up." Well, apparently I eat like an 8 year old, because it was the PERFECT portion for me. I had my little pepperoni pizza and it was just the right amount...topped off with a little fruit cup (and two 'chips'...my friend shared with me because he said they are homemade and really good...he's a little foodie in the making!!) I mentioned to my little buddy that he was right, this was a good pizza and he feigns shock and says, "What!? Did you think I would lie to you!??" I hastily explained that I didn't think he would lie but there's so many kinds of pizza I wasn't sure we would like the same kind...but we do. And we both like the root beer! (His mom says the caesar salad and her sandwich were also good!) So...I wouldn't be so hesitant to stop in again. I'm sure the food will be just as tasty but I'm not sure I can top the company of my most recent visit! Great food,questionable service. Ordered a pint of Italian Ice via the drive thru on Saturday 5/26 the girl working the window gave it to me with sticky ice all over the container and the lid wasnt closed all the way. My first time dining was a meh disappointment. I ordered a jumbo Chicago style Dog with a side of chili. The wienner was good and consistent with what a Vienna beef dog should taste like. It was a skinny jumbo compared to size of the wienner at Portillos. The chili was ok, not bad but not special. It was odd to find minestrone penne noodles within it as well. What disappointed me most was the soft drinks. How does a restaurant succeed in messing up something so simple? I tried 4 of the different Pepsi product selections but they were all flat tasting. The Dr Pepper syrup needed to be changed and the staff took a long time before checking it only to tell me it was fine. I love buona so I decided to go to the drive thru, I always expect to wait because I know I'm going to be getting all my food fresh.....with that said, after ordering and paying it took more than 20 minutes to get 2 cheese fries, an order of chicken strips and a plain cheeseburger! I usually never keep track of time, I work in the quick service restaurant industry so I have an idea as to how long it takes to make fresh fries, strips, and a burger and it's not 20 minutes.
