Haven't been to Buona in a long while! I'm surprised this place wasn't busier like their suburban counterparts. Me and my wife were dining in. We ordered a few menu items from the impossible Italian beef, gravy bread and fries. All of which were amazing and outstanding. Very minimal wait times, not too much traffic in the drive thru. The Montgomery Buona Beef was the perfect stop. I'm even surprised they had a location out this far and was glad to come across it. The beef sandwiches were made perfectly with a generous portion of giardiniera. The fries were nice and hot which makes a difference. Went there a bit before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither the inside nor the drive-thru was busy but still there was no one taking orders inside and the employees in the meal preparation area didn't seem to be doing much that was work-related. Waited for two minutes then left. In the past couple of years I've had dine-in at the Glen Ellyn and Naperville locations - both had good service but the food was inferior to what I had in years past. I'll try the St. Charles location before writing off this chain. Like Portillo's, what used to be a quite good experience at every location I visited has in recent years become a quite poor experience at every location I visit. Came out to Aurora to see the Christmas Festival of Lights and it was getting late and we were somewhat hungry and we ended up in this area after driving around. I had never heard of Buona and my friend asked if I wanted to come here or go to Sonic, and I chose Buona. If you are with a group of people and everyone wants a different meal, Buona has a menu that is a crowd pleaser. They have Italian Beef, Burgers, Chicken Sandwiches, and some Deli style sandwiches, Pizza, Salads and Pasta. I had their new Turkey sandwich and I would order it again. I also ordered a bowl of Chicken Vegetable soup and it was tasty as well. We took everything to go and ate in the car, because of Covid-19 restrictions, and we had everything we needed, even extra napkins. Counter service was friendly and on point. We ordered three pizzas, three drinks, and our total came out to about $25. Not bad for three people. You order your food up at the counter and like most fast-food fine-dining these days, you grab a seat and someone brings it out to you. As I waited, I looked around the restaurant and I perused the menu to find that they have deals, much like the $5 pizza deal, going on all week. They have a pretty large menu, to include but not limited to italian beef sandwiches. Shocking! The people sitting next to us ordered burgers and they were huge!....The burgers that is...not the people. The restaurant itself was pretty big for a fast food place. Very nice tables and chairs, as well as outdoor seating. It was also very clean. Employees were out on the floor often cleaning off tables, sweeping the floors, and maintaining the soda fountain area. They also have a drive-thru. Our food came out after about ten minutes. Not bad for a freshly made pizza. I ordered the supreme (without green peppers, ew) which is normally $7.75. It was pretty good! Lots of toppings, good blend of cheese, and well seasoned tomato sauce. I especially loved the portabello mushrooms. We also ordered the veggie pizza which came with huge chunks of artichoke. Very fresh, very tasty. Overall, we were pleased with the food. My only complaint about this place are the prices. The drinks and food are expensive. I probably wouldn't eat here unless I was specifically coming for one of the daily deals. $5 for an individual pizza is a great deal but $7.75, plus a drink...now I'm looking at over ten bucks for a fast food meal for a single person. I never wanted to eat at Buona Beef because to be honest, I don't really love beef sandwiches. They are OK. I don't think I've ever actually ordered one though. I'm the worst Chicagoan/Italian there is. Anyhow, after reading Samantha B's review and learning there is way more than beef to this place, I decided to give it a shot. We stopped in during lunch but not after furiously googling coupons. There are tons available and although the guy wasn't able to scan it from my phone, he still honored it. It was good for $10 off $25. We ordered a panini, a sandwich, bowl of soup and a salad. That may be pricey on it's own but with the coupon, we paid less than $17 bucks! I ordered the turkey delicioso with avocado on a pretzel bun. Next time I would take off the mustard, it was pretty strong and avocado is enough to act as a condiment. We ordered the seasonal strawberry blueberry salad. I was unimpressed with this one. It was drowning in dressing at the bottom and just overall OK. I do like the goat cheese and almonds included but it wasn't enough to salvage. I wouldn't order again. They also have a rewards program that can be used on the app or through a traditional card but they haven't found a way to sync them together. What a fresh, healthy take on Italian! I am so sad that we do not have one of these in St. Louis. I was in Aurora for training, typed in Italian and Buona was the first entry. I was definitely thinking we were going to an independent restaurant and after a long day of driving I was thankful that Buona made deciding on the entrees easy. An order, pay, they bring the food to you and you get your own drinks kind of restaurant I don't consider this fast food. My mom and I decided to split a salad and a pizza, the pizzas were the perfect size for splitting or for a single person to have some extra to take home. The salad, had apples, walnuts, Gorgonzola and a delightful dressing that was just sweet enough. The pizza that we ordered was a veggie pizza low on onions and peppers high on artichokes, mushrooms, and black olives it was hot, melty, and delicious! This place is awesome and as of late the quality at Bouna is better and more consistent than Portillo's(I'm 100% serious). Buona's beefs are amazing but on my last visit I did their pepper and egg combo, it's a traditional pepper, egg and cheese sandwich with an Italian sausage tossed in, I also added hot peppers, it was amazing! Also, anyone with kids needs to try Buona's kids menu, it's is by far the best kids menu around. My daughter went with half of a fresh made pizza, a cup of fruit which is huge and all fresh sliced fruit, didn't taste like fruit from a can, there was pineapple, oranges, mango and grapes in there and a kids drink is also included. The kids menu is honestly one of the best I have ever seen, so anyone tired of the normal kids menu options at most other places should give Buona a try. read more

I'm liking it so far! Been here twice and food has been good. What I like is that it seems to offer way more than your usual drive thru place. And not just types of food, even ingredients!!!! Whoever heard of a drive thru spot that offered goat cheese?? Or pretzel buns?? YUMM:) One drawback I'll agree with others is that they do take long on your orders. So far I've had a NY strip steak sandwich and made it my own with goat cheese and on a pretzel bun, I've had the blueberry salad, and their chicken tenders and hot dogs for the kids and EVERYTHING has been really great tasting. I've been there once so far but I'm quite certain me and my deplorable eating habits will darken the door again soon. BB has OUTSTANDING Italian Beef sandwiches! That's what I usually get when I get a "hankering" (my Hoosier roots are showing) for great Italian Beef. But, they have many other items too. Check out their website and menu board. There will be something for everyone. I've had burgers at other BB locations and found them to be excellent. I've never had a bad anything at BB and although I've only been to the brand new Montgomery location once, I think it's a safe bet the rest of the entree's are equally as good. First visit to this location but I've been to many others in the region. This location is a little different in the terms of the setup that I've seen before. Here, you're funneled to the checkout counter and then to seating. The food seems consistent with what I've had before. Had another Buona Beef 10" sandwich that was drenched in their sauce. Just the way that I worded it. However, after having it this way I will not do it again and just have the tips done instead. My friend's beef and sausage combo sandwich did not include his gravy either. We were very disappointed since I paid extra for the avocado as well.
