I tried the new smash burger and I have to say it's delish! I got the double (they also offer a triple). Great flavor, the sauce was good. Could use a bit more crispiness on the edges, but I would order it again. Quick service in the drive thru. read more

Ok, I have always liked Sonic since I got my Master's at Oklahoma State University BUT.... When you come up with a new Smash burger and promote it (heavily) as such then make sure IT IS a Smash Butger. This is the worst drive-through I've ever been to. in order to give your order at the box, your car has to be at an angle because the box is just at the corner of the drive-through, and then it's too far away from the box and they can't hear you. I had to actually open my door and sit halfway out of my car in order to give my order Horrible, horrible design. And it's very very slow. It took 20 minutes for me to sit in the line, order, and actually get my food. If you want fast food in Montgomery do not go to the sonic unless you want to park for the carhop and even then it's going to take a long time. read more

The service is pretty quick for a sonic and the food so far has been great. Sometimes you can get food that has been sitting but not at this location for me so far! The location is also pretty clean. At some locations the trash can be full however, so far that hasn't been the case at this one. read more

I like coming here for happy hour half price drinks, specifically the cream slushies with crushed jolly ranchers. It's like ice cream and slushy mixed together with jolly rancher crunch. You can also get $0.99 corn dog during happy hour from 2p-5p. Half price shakes, floats and ice cream slush is also available after 8pm. Nothing clever to say here. It's a drive in that ain't McDonalds, Burger King or Wendys. I like Wendy's better, but this place is head and shoulders above Duck's and BK. The one out here does NOT feature the roller-skate carhops other of their stores do, and even if they did, the joint is so close to home I wouldn't use them anywho. Burgers are hearty and tasty. Don't know why I've driven past this joint for so long and never stopped. Wife unit saw the BBLT advertised and had to have one. The BBLT is a seasonal at Sonic, and it's basically a Bacon, Lettuce and Tomatoe sarnie on a Bun. If you've read some of my Yelps, I've menchened I'm not a slave to bacon. I like it, but I'm not mesmerized by it. I will say, however, the BBLT is a tasty sandwich. I'll prolly get a taste for one the week after they 86 it from the menu. Sonic is in interesting hybrid..... it's part old fashioned Drive In with car hops..... and modern drive thru. In the summer it can be fun! Imagine it packed with old cars.... Beach Boy's music playing and car hops (sometimes) on roller skates delivering burgers, hotdog and milk shakes to your car. Rent the move American Graffiti and you'll get the idea. It's the old fashioned drive in where Sonic shines! Perhaps it's the nostalgia thing, but that works for me. The ordering at the speaker and waiting in line at the drive thru is where they fall short. Too often ..... orders wrong..... food is cold, and the wait way too long. However, the milkshakes are great! So, it's December..... cold..... snow flurries..... and visions not of sugar plums..... but of warm weather.... top down driving and being waited on by roller skating car hops are dancing in my head. I have a feeling with how 2020 has been, Santa wouldn't mind rocking an Hawaiian Shirt this year instead of his Santa suit.... and enjoying a warm day this holiday season ...... with Mrs. Claus ,his elves and Reindeer all enjoying holiday themed shakes at the drive in. Despite the order coming up correctly on the drive-in sign, the burger came with the wrong toppings. We called back in to correct the order (and they still didn't get it: "A hamburger plain" does not sound like "cheese is ok"). So I was already irritated when it finally arrived, to find that it was undercooked on the bottom side. I went in to address this and just wanted a refund. They wanted the receipt. You *just* brought this out to us! The clerk had a 'tude and I was done with it. I shouldn't have to race back and forth to my car multiple times over something like this. This location cannot handle being busy. We first tried the drive-in spot. Pressed the red button and could hear them talking in the kitchen but never took our order or responded. After a busy day, I decided to take some dinner home, and I chose to get it here. Sonic is a drive-in. There are slushes, shakes, and burgers served. There is more food served here, but what I said was the main stuff Sonic serves. If your going into Sonic, you don't have to say the order to a worker, you can do your self-serve order. It's pretty cool! Otherwise, the servers are nice and friendly. The food was just okay. They're servings inside the restaurant are like what you get in a drive-thru. I had chicken strips there, and they were pretty good. I liked the white chicken they had. The mozzarella sticks were okay. I liked the marinara sauce. I was a bit disappointed in my strawberry shake. It was really thick which made it hard to actually drink the shake. All in all, okay food, cool drive-in, and good service. I might be coming back, but I hope next time it can be a little better. read more

If there was an option to give a 0 star rating I would. We went to 3 booths and no one answered but were answering around us. We were there a total 30 minutes before we went through the drive through which took another 20 minutes. And no they were not that busy. They had maybe two cars in the booth area and three cars in the drive thru. Absolutely ridiculous. There was another car there that had the same situation and just left. MY GF BIT INTO A CHEESEBURGER WITH A CHUNK OF BONE IN IT AND IT SHATTERED HER TOOTH. I WILL NEVER GO BACK!!!!! THEY ARE ALSO REFUSING TO PAY A MEASLY $400 FOR A ROOT CANAL. Okay so I've always been a big fan of sonic. I like that it's a bit different from all the other fast food places. Used to love their tots and corndogs and like that they serve breakfast all day. A few months back I stopped by sonic one night with my girlfriend. In the car we started eating our tots as we waited for drinks and noticed the tots tasted moldy and rotten. The girl working the window apologized and was very nice and said they had gotten a bad batch from the factory....but apparently continued selling them knowing they were bad. They basically tasted rotten, moldy and sorta like dishhsoap. They couldn't figure out how to refund us for the tots so offered fries instead. I didn't really want fries but I'm generally not one to complains so whatever I took them. The real problem comes when we get home. Sitting at my island in my kitchen eating burgers and all the sudden my gf runs to the bathroom with a look of anguish on her face and screaming. When she gets to the sink she spits out pieces of her teeth and the remnants of chewed up cheeseburger. There was a little piece of bone in her burger that shattered one of her molers into pieces and leaving the root hanging out exposed. This happenned on a Thursday night and many dentists are closed on Friday but found her a Dentist and went in to get this fixed. It took a few trips to the dentist office and a root canal but got her tooth fixed. The following morning I called corporate as well as the restaurant manager. Both were apologetic. I told them upfront I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm not trying to drag you guys over the coals like many people asking for pain and suffereing or missed work money. My girlfriend has dental insurance, I told Sonic that will cover most I just want them to pay the $400 which was the part my gf had to pay. Both corporate and the store manager were apologetic and said they would be happy to make it right and pay for it. They wound up turning it over to Nationwide their insurance company who is giving us a hard time and has finally said they are refusing to pay. I own a business and if my business makes a mistake we make it right even if its a few bucks out of our pocket because we want to do right by our customers and we hold ourselves accountable for our mistakes. Apparently that is not hte case with sonic. We are not trying to rake them over the coals, we simply want her deductable paid which is only $400 and Sonic has refused to pay for her tooth which was cracked by a bone in their cheeseburger. I will even add to Sonics credit, I have had little bone fragments in burgers from various places and typically I'll just spit them out and won't even mention it to the restaurant however when it cracks a tooth I feel its worth mentioning and should be remedied. Since Sonic has refused to make things right I feel the need to warn others about this establishment, I'll also be calling the Kane/Kendall health department on them later this afternoon. Thanks for nothing sonic. I was even going to continue eating there after this incident as I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say this was a fluke but now I will never step foot in one of their restaurants and I will tell others to do the same. When I heard Sonic was coming to the Fox Valley, not many people were more thrilled about it than I was. I'd never been there mind you but had seen all the advertisements prior to one actually being in my area. So, when they opened in Montgomery, I was there! And there! And there!! And still there!!! Don't misunderstand me, that doesn't mean I was there all the time. That represents one visit. I'm not saying their drive-thru service was slow but when I arrived I was silky smooth and by the time I got my food and left, I needed a shave. To pour salt in my wound, the order was totally screwed up. They even read it back to me correctly after I ordered it!! Shame on me for not checking it before I left. Wow, this review is this lengthy and I haven't even mentioned the food yet. Not good! To be fair, there are some good things about Sonic. Here are some "Pro's". 1. The concept to begin with. The whole drive-in thing is so retro, it's cool. Although there is that unmistakable "corporate chain" feel about it, they get points for trying to be different! 2. The menu offerings, while some are the same ole/same ole as most fast food places, there are some unique items. 3. The cute servers on roller skates. Now to the food. It's probably just me and my taste buds, but I just don't think it tastes that great. I'll put it ahead of the most dreadful places on earth (Mc'D's and BK) but this is supposed to be "high end fast food" (how's that for an oxy-moron). The flavor just doesn't cut it for me. I don't give ANY fast food joint higher than three stars because 4 & 5 stars should be reserved for the really great places. Based on that - and this review - Sonic should be thrilled to receive 2 stars from me. read more

Never had a bad experience at this location and for a fast food spot nowadays that's rare. They are friendly and the food is always fresh. Four stars because they can be a bit to the slow side on occasion, but hey, I would rather have fresh food than rushed because the food is sitting under lights for who knows how long like some other burger joints. read more

The food here is nothing to write home about. The service is horrible. I have been here a total of 5 times and every time I order something through the drive through it is wrong. It is rung up correctly and shown on the receipt correctly, but in the bag is a completely different story. Even a 5 year old knows the difference between a bacon cheeseburger and a chicken nugget. 3 out of the 5 times I attempted to eat from here my order was wrong. Get it together, people! read more

I kind of like this location better than the North Aurora because it's closer to our house. The food and service are exactly the same: awesome. I love love love their limeade and they can make some mean tater tots. Definitely a favorite if and when we're in the salty fast food mood. read more

The people are friendly and the food is good... But the free Wi-Fi is a joke... Why even advertise it? The download speed was .04-.10Kbps.....May not make a big difference for some people but when you have engineers visit your place of business, and you offer free Wi-Fi make Speck some form of usable service... In this case it was completely unusable, and in fact I had to go back to cellular data to post this review Quit being cheap, and put in some real Wi-Fi, and this place will get five stars from me. read more
