    The Glazed Burger
    Alvin B.

Who would've thought of getting a meal at a gas station? I certainly didn't. But my coworkers insisted on getting this for lunch, and, I'm glad I tried this place out! Tucked away on one side of a BP gas station, this place has some unique burger combinations, as well as salads, hot dogs and other kinds of sandwiches. I ordered the glazed burger with onion rings. The glazed burger comes with a steak burger, fried egg, caramelized onions, aged cheddar cheese, ketchup and a Korean style glaze all on a brioche bun. It was very delicious - fresh and made to order! The burger was a bit bigger than I expected so I had to cut mine in half. The Korean style glaze was a bit sweet and tangy; it overpowered the other flavors of the burger, but not by much. The onion rings were alright. A little bland, but the batter was just right enough to give it a good, crispy bite. Overall, I was impressed! I would definitely come back here and try out their other burgers.

Urban Counter is a hidden gem located inside a BP off Farnsworth in Aurora. It has a very hip decor and adds to the solid gas station's portfolio of offerings. The staff is quite friendly and walks new customers through the options. Everything is grilled fresh to order - you can taste the difference. Many things looked good, but the daily special was buy 1, get 1 mini burgers. It was under $5 for 2 minis, regular fries and regular drink. Awesome value. The burger was remarkable - just a little ball of flavor. The grilled chicken mini was equally impressive. It was juicy, well seasoned and hot off the grill. Fries grew on me, but needed some salt and a little more time in the fryer. I would visit much more often, but will have to settle for occasional visits to this wonderful, fresh, fast food solution

Wait a minute, burgers at a gas station? That's right, peeps, a yummy burger cooked to order at a gas station. Or maybe you're hungry for a salad or a grilled chicken sandwich, they've got it. Urban Counter is located inside the BP gas station. I had a Bleu Cheese Burger. It was cooked to order. I think it was a 1/2 pounder, but not quite sure. It was topped with bleu cheese, a bacon jam, and arugula, on a brioche bun! It was one of the better burgers I've had in a while. The sweet potato fries were delicious as well. On this visit, the regular fries were just okay. I would stick with the sweet potatoes. We did have a problem with one burger being raw on the inside. It was put on the grill after the others, but removed at the same time. The staff was very apologetic and the young man that cooked it came to our table later and said that he just wanted to apologize again for the burger and was very gracious. We were very happy with the customer service and food. I'll be back. Prices were pretty reasonable as well. A meal of a burger, fries, and a drink was less than $10. Not bad. I can truly say this beats any gas station hot dog sitting on a roller for 12 hours!

    Overcooked meat , blackish bun

That was the worst hamburger I've eaten in my life. I asked for medium/well cooked , it came overcooked and buns were almost burned , black. I'll not talk about the ordering process which took 10 minutes including several refunds etc. Long story short do not be deceived by high rating. They are not good. I should have eaten at Mc Donald's cross by.

I would give zero stars if I could. Came here with family after checking out the great yelp reviews. Not sure if those are real reviews or this place has gone down hill. I knew it was going to bad experience from the beginning when I had to wave the cook over off his perch in the little back room. Where do I begin. I ordered a bacon cheese burger, cooked medium, and an order of fries. My wife ordered a veggie wrap, and added a grilled cheese for my daughter. It took exactly min to get my food! Two more people came in and ordered after us. That's when these two cooks got lost. They try cooking ask three orders at the same time. After waiting 30 min, they finally brought out our food. Naturally I didn't receive my fries. Went back up and told them. They said they would bring then out. Took a bite of my burger, it was completely overcooked. If your going to ask how you want your burger cooked, you better be able to get close or your setting yourself up to disappoint customers. Took a few more bites and refused to eat anymore. My wife said the veggie wrap was good, but it's pretty hard to mess up rolling veggies in a spinach burrito. So your safe with that if you're stuck eating here. My daughter's grilled cheese was black. The cheese wasn't even melted. How do you mess up a grilled cheese? Waited for my wife to finish her wrap, and then we left. I'm still waiting for them to bring me my fries.

So gas station food is never a good idea, right??? Wrong!!!! I really wish this was disconnected from the BP completely, at least a wall. No one believes when you try to tell them the BP on the corner has the best food. Anyway, this is my little brothers favorite place ever. What'd he want for his birthday dinner? Urban counter!! So finally, I was able to try. The hype is real. The burgers are made fresh and I highly suggest you call to order ahead and make sure they are open. The classic cheeseburger with jalepenos well done was delicious. Burgers are really thick, pickle slices on bottom, topped with cheese, tomato, and onion. Fries are pretty delicious! The standards of gas stations are blown out the window here. The entire place is extremely clean but also top of the line.

This is what they think well done with no pink looks like!

Absolutely fantastic! I originally didn't think much of this place when checking out the menu…read moreonline because the food choices didn't look super interesting and the prices were a bit on the lower side. I was pleasantly surprised to see that I was completely wrong --- the portions are enormous, the textures are great, the flavors are incredible, and everything I tried was done very well. This is on top of fast friendly service, and a very unique interior. I went here with 3 friends and would absolutely love to come back again soon with even more. As I mentioned, the food here is just awesome. It's clear how much care is put into every single dish with the great presentation, attention to small details, and refined product. I highly recommend the tuna poke, maybe one of the best versions I've ever had of this dish. This has plenty of fish on top of extremely crispy wonton chips. The mix of creamy avocado puree, jalapeno salsa, honey wasabi, and sriracha aioli is incredible. This reminds me of the bold flavor combinations at Girl and the Goat at a lower price point. The bang bang shrimp was another winner with super crispy tempura shrimp served with a delicious sweet chili sauce and cabbage slaw. For anyone who's ever had this dish at Bonefish Grill, you'll be thrilled with this version as well which comes with a very generous amount of shrimp. The burgers were also on point -- both enormous in size and full of flavor in every layer. In addition to perfectly cooked patties (this was great for both the beef and bison I tried), I was pleased that all the components of the burger were very flavorful and well done. That is, the brioche bread was slightly toasted inside, the pickles had just the right level of acidity and texture, the pork belly was super flavorful in itself and cooked great without making the dish feel too fatty, the egg was slightly runny, and the vegetables were all super fresh. Unsurprisingly, their sides were prepared to perfection as well -- with crunchy onion rings and super tasty fries. Overall, this restaurant is worth a special trip and I aim to try every single starter they make soon. It's not often that I'll be thinking about a restaurant long after dining there but the excellence displayed here has left a lasting impression both with myself and my friends that dined here. The excellent meal here definitely made for a very memorable birthday dinner for the party.

We came on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy so if you can make reservations that could save you some time. If you end up waiting, there is a cool game room with pinball, pac mac, and other games which is pretty neat! It was too cold when we went but there also looks to be a nice patio out back for when the weather warms up. Parking can be tough though FYI! Our waitress was Candy and she was excellent! She provided great recommendations and was on top of taking our order, drink refills, and checking up without it feeling pushy or rushed. We started with cheese curds which were crisp and fluffy. For my meal I tried the brisket mac and cheese which hit the spot. The portion was generous and it came with the perfect ratio of mac and cheese to brisket. The side of garlic toast was also crispy and was perfect for wiping up all the extra cheese sauce. We didn't partake in any of the epic milkshakes this time but we did get a regular cookies and cream shake which was the perfect way to round out the meal.

That's where things started to slip. Drinks took about 15 minutes. Apps? Another 20. Then we ordered our mains: a "You're the one for me, Fatty!" burger and a cheesesteak. Those took over an hour... To their credit, the food itself was solid. Burger looked like the photos, tasted great. Fries were crispy and well-seasoned. No complaints there. But the wait? Completely unreasonable--especially with no explanation or apology. Everyone on the patio seemed stuck in the same delay, then suddenly food started coming out in waves like a switch flipped. Felt like a kitchen issue, but no communication from staff made it worse. We finished up and ordered a milkshake to share. It came out fast--almost too fast. The cake on top was stale and rock hard, basically inedible, and the shake tasted like plain vanilla instead of Biscoff. For $16, that's just not acceptable. Our server did comp the shake and gave us a voucher for a future visit, which I appreciate, but it doesn't undo the experience. Overall, this trip was very disappointing, especially for my girlfriend's first visit. I've been coming here for years, so it's frustrating to see the drop-off. Hoping this was just an off night, but this one missed the mark.
