Easily one of the most gorgeous restaurants I've seen in the city. The vibe is meticulously crafted. We sat in the back of the restaurant which is set up like a garden with lots of plants and a glass ceiling. The service was great and the food both looked and tasted amazing. They definitely have some unique dishes on their menu like a roasted pineapple in gravy. Everything was delicious! They also have a sweets station where you can help yourself to some sweet treats as you leave. Sadly I was too full to try anything but will definitely save room next time!

We came in for dinner recently and had a great overall experience! Chef Vikas was on the floor and going up to every table to greet everyone. We ordered a variety of drinks all which were great! For the starters, we ordered the lamb chops, achari paneer, dahi kebab. Lamb and kebab were amazing. Paneer was average. For the main course we ordered railway chicken, paneer lazeez, pineapple curry. Chicken and paneer were soooo good. Not a fan of the pineapple curry. The noise level was fairly loud. Considering it's a fine dining experience (and kids below 10 not allowed) we expected a quieter experience.

If this place wasn't so hyped I would give it a 5. But if you have claim to be the best, you better make it better than the rest. The ambiance is definitely elite. You walk into a library and are later moved into an area where feel like your eating in a garden. There are multiple servers and each have a special role. One brought us out soup, while the other took our order, and another brought out the food. We got 3 appetizers and a main entree. By far the best was the yogurt kabab. It melts in your mouth. It has a sev surrounding the kebab. The starter coconut soup was bland. It had a little lentil like taste but its a nice free starter item. The Banaras puri was spicy. It tastes like a pani puri without the pani. Best part is that the taste lasts on for a minute. The beetroot Raita adds color but no added flavor. The anarkali chicken is tender. It has a spice that sneaks up on you. I like the crunch the watermelon radish adds. The pineapple gravy tastes like vargarelo pineapple with a coconut dal. Loved how cutting into the pineapple introduced so many new flavors to the dish. Overall the food was a 3.5 for taste and flavor and a 4.5 for uniqueness. The best part was the free dessert. It was a tasty banana souffle. I feel like the prices are fair for a upscale restaurant. I ended the night with a old fashioned. Its got a paan kick. But its way over priced.

Visiting Bungalow at NYC was an amazing experience. Getting the reservation was really challenging, the reservation is done online 20 days in advance and it gets fully booked within a couple of minutes. Nevertheless they offer you some places in the bar area if you walk in without reservations. I contacted them earlier in mail and confirmed the foods are Halal, and the server also confirmed. Coming to the dishes, we tried a full 3 course meal with appetizers, entrees and desserts as they recommend. As appetizers we tried yogurt kabab and shrimp balchao cones. Both of them were amazing but the yogurt kabab was unique. As entree we took the lamb curry and chicken biryani. They were different from traditional Indian places but nothing too extraordinary. The desserts were really nice and they also offer a complementary dessert outside of the menu if you're celebrating something. Celebrity Chef Vikas looks after all the guests and greets every table seeking feedback on the food. The reservation is challenging, the foods are somewhat expensive but still these are completely worth it and I recommend Bungalow to everyone.

Pros: + By far my favorite Indian Restaurant in NYC + Friendly Staff + Extremely creative menu with each dish beign much better than the one before + If you can't get a reservation, they do allow walk ins at the bar. I don't think they serve the full menu (just apps and desserts), but to be honest, those are my favorite dishes anyway. My Must Try recommendations: 1. Yogurt Kebabs - beautifully made; wrapped in kaitifi, this is a feast for your eyes first and then your stomach 2. Anarkali Chicken - amazing combination of pomegranate and roasted chicken. Just be sure to share this (portions are pretty big, so you want to make sure to save some room for the rest of the dishes) 3. Spice Roasted Pineapple - I didn't think I would like this so much. You won't get a dish like this at other sites Lastly, don't skip the desserts. Honestly, all three are delicious and I really think you need to come here with a few friends so you can try all of them Cons: - Tough to get reservations IG: AndTheNextAdventureBegins

My boyfriend and I got seated in the booth corner after the hostess noticed that the group next to us took up space. We appreciated the hospitality and care very much. We started off with cocktails specifically holi moly and kaali peeli taxi. As appetizers, we ordered the banarasi puri, yogurt kabab and anarkali chicken. The sauces were delicious. I highly recommend the appetizers. As mains, we ordered the garlic naan, five cheese kulcha, spice roasted pineapple, and chicken amitsari. The spice roasted pineapple tasted very unique and the sauce reminded me of a creamy mushroom soup. I personally think you can skip this dish. My boyfriend ordered all three desserts: rose kulfi falooda, molten chocolate cake and mango three way. Mango three way was my favorite! Overall the food, service and ambiance were excellent. I see why it's hard to get a reservation here.

We finally made it to Bungalow after trying to snag a reservation for ages. Superbowl Sunday plus freezing temperatures must have scared people off, because some prime slots opened up. The restaurant is in the former Lucky Cheng's space and it is surprisingly large. There is a front lounge where you can munch on complimentary snacks while you wait, which is a really nice touch, and we were seated promptly in the back dining area. We started with the Banarasi Puri, Tandoori Prawns, and Lamb Chops. Every starter was excellent and everything came out impressively fast without feeling rushed. For mains, we had the Pudina Aloo, Chicken Amritsari, and the Five Cheese Kulcha. All of the dishes were flavorful, well executed, and lived up to the hype we had heard about this place. For dessert, we chose the mango served three ways, which was bright, refreshing, and a perfect way to end the meal. Service throughout the night was solid. Staff were attentive, checked on us regularly, and cleared plates quickly, which kept the table from feeling cluttered. They offer hand wipes at the beginning of the meal, and you finish with a box of candy presented along with the check, which is a fun and memorable way to end. I do have two critiques. The dining room was on the chilly side, which became noticeable over the course of the meal. Even more frustrating was the bathroom situation: there are only two unisex restrooms, and the line gets long and slow, especially during peak times. Despite those issues, I understand why this place is so popular and hard to book. I would definitely come back if I can catch another reservation.

Managed to snag a 5pm Thursday reservation via Amex Resy nights. Apparently the waiting list is about 3 months long. We were excited to see what the hype was all about and over ordered a whole bunch of appetizers and mains. All the food was sooo good although some dishes were on the spicy side. The pumpkin soup served at the start was so good, I could have more. The restaurant ambience is nice and trendy. Our waiter Rohan was also very nice. A bowl of plain basmati rice at $9 was pretty punchy but I guess people would pay for it.

Food 7/10 Ambience 8.5/10 Service 7/10 Dishes - pineapple curry and dahi kebabs should not be the two dishes you go to this restaurant imo! They are good but are they worth waiting months to get a resy and paying that much, not really! This is mostly a trendy instagramable spot! The five cheese kulcha was great!! Overall I think it's more catered to a more non Indian palette and has a more global appeal ie not as spicy Service wasn't no better than any other high end restaurant! If you are in the area, you should pay Adda a visit too! It was a good experience but not worth a repeat visit for us!

Food: thoughtful menu with a blend of various ingredients while maintaining core Indian dish. The lamb was super tender and flavorful. The yougart sev was very unique. Service: amazing! Vikas Khanna took a photo with us and gave us a personal goodbye

The food was solid - we finished the shrimp curry and chicken curry (then regretted eating so much). I'm not usually a fan of lamb but I enjoyed the lamb chops as well. The chicken from the appetizer menu was so tender and juicy. Yogurt kebab was unique but probably not a repeat for us. We were placed at a corner table facing the kitchen and seated side by side. I have to admit - i was a bit disappointed by the service here - it took us more than 20 minutes to order because the staff was too busy, then they actually asked us to move tables as we were finishing up because the next party was there. I completely understand that if we're slow eaters and taking our sweet time, but the minute the dishes touch the table, we pounce on it (ok I take a photo first) so the added time was entirely from their slow service. For the price, it's just something you'd hope they'd be mindful of.

If you can get a reservations here, a Magical Experience awaits!! The food here will touch your soul and we made sure to let the chef know that directly. Pro-tip: Ask for seating in the atrium section, book your reservation for when they open 5pm to get this seating. From the world-class chef Vikas Khanna prowling around his kingdom but humbly coming to each table to make sure you are enjoying everything, swapping stories and recommending amazing things to try to actually getting the best in the world Indian food with a well curated ambiance... this place was... MAGICAL! They started with a welcome drink which was a very hot Pumpkin soup. We ordered the 2 appetizers (Dahi Kebab, Achari Paneer) and they gave us an extra Chef's special Rajwadi Puri. All were amazing! Somehow after that we proceeded to order 2 entrees still, the Pineapple Curry, Paneer Lazeez. Both came out perfectly spiced and meticulously plated and paired well with either Garlic or Butter Naan. The food was so good that even though we were full, we ordered their Bungalow Daal and that was over the top too. The $8 side of white rice hurt a little on the wallet and we thought it should just be complimentary... it was just rice after all. We had to force ourselves to stop ordering more. Everything was just so good. We racked up a huge bill but it was still in line with most other Indian restaurants in NYC. Don't be shocked with the automatic 20% gratuity for parties of all sizes either... we were a bit surprised but for a place like this, it was somewhat worth it if you're not eating here everyday. Please Please come here when you're in NYC.

We tried this East Village spot on a winter evening. Getting a reservation wasn't easy--we booked almost 20 days in advance--but the experience lived up to the hype. We were welcomed with a pumpkin soup that was warm and comforting, perfect for the cold outside. For appetizers, we ordered the Yogurt Kebabs and the Malwani Fish Tikka, and the kebabs really stood out. Crisp on the outside, hot inside, and full of flavor. We also tried two mocktails, Golden City and Guava Lemonade. Both paired well with the food, though a heads-up: if you're sensitive to spice, sip the Guava Lemonade with a straw since the rim is heavily spiced. For mains, we went with the Alleppey Shrimp Curry and Chicken Amritsari, along with basmati rice and butter naan. I really enjoyed the Chicken Amritsari--the gravy was lightly sweet and creamy--but opinions at the table were mixed, with some feeling it was similar to what you'd find at other Indian restaurants. We ended with the Mango Three Ways dessert. The mango gravy was good, but the ice cream was quite hard and difficult to break into. Overall, we had a good time and would visit again, though it's worth noting that the food is on the pricier side.

Our friends raved about this place and we of course were excited (and a bit skeptical at first) to try it. The concept: no menu + no lights + a few questions = the ultimate cocktail experience. The speakeasy vibe and the dark ambiance really makes this place feel even more exclusive. With just a few tables and the bar setting, you're in for an experience you won't forget (unless you answer the wrong questions and really end up with a drink you don't like HA). This wasn't my case. Of course I described my two favorite things: Negroni + mezcal. The obvious answer would be a mezcal Negroni, but that's not why one comes to a place like Attaboy. Our amazing curator came by to ask us all a few questions, write down a few words in the napkins, and mix up the perfect drink that our master bartender crafts, curates and creates. My drink came as I couldn't possibly imagine. It looked like a Negroni smelled like Oaxaca, with all the smoke simmering up and preparing my sensory experience, leading to the best first sip. Ladies and gentleman, I introduce you to The Devil's Backbone. A perfectly balanced drink I'll never forget, one that is sipped slowly and enjoyed thoroughly. It's sexy, it's smoky it's sipped. Attaboy gave the best mixology experience and we can't wait to be back. Pro tip: be sure to be as vocal as possible, even with ice, so you don't end up with a tiki drink if that's not your vibe.

Tucked into the Financial District, this spot blends old New York history with some of the best cocktails in the city--and it's easy to see why it's been named "World's Best Bar" more than once. The name itself has a wild backstory, inspired by a notorious 19th-century Irish-American gang from Five Points. It adds a layer of character to the place, but what really keeps people coming back is the atmosphere and the drinks. The space is split into two levels: a two lively, sawdust-floored Taprooms downstairs and a more refined Parlor upstairs if you're in the mood for a quieter, cocktail-focused experience. Drinks are the real highlight here. The Irish Coffee is widely considered one of the best in the world--rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced with whiskey, coffee, and fresh cream. They also get creative with variations like a frozen version and even an Irish Coffee martini. If you want something different, the "Act Naturally" is a standout, mixing Irish whiskey with Guinness and fig in a way that works. Food is just as impressive for a bar. The lobster deviled eggs (topped with caviar) are a must-try, and the menu leans into elevated comfort food. Overall, The Dead Rabbit nails the balance between historic charm and modern cocktail excellence. The D.R. is one of those places that is never boring and consistently delivers.

Mood lighting, comfortable seating, great drinks in a cozy and Victorian-inspired space are the perfect blend of unique and. I always felt like I was part of something special the few times enjoyed creative, delicious, and strong libations from the pros at the bar. While it has always been pricey, I do feel like the excellent service ambiance, and drink quality warrant this, but may prevent more folks from becoming regulars so to speak. I love the clever and compact bathroom design, too. IYKYK Long live Apotheke!

I could tell you to look for the blue beaker sign that says "Chemist" but the better tell is the random guy sitting on a stool outside. He'll be the only person on the street, so no worries about missing him! The menu has changed over the years, but the quality has not. The bartenders are social and personable. And the prices are in line for the area. My bestie and I loved the vibe. One of the best speakeasies she's had the pleasure of experiencing. Don't miss out on this place!

Serious attitude here. The cocktails were very tasty but the service and vibe were so off-putting,…read moreI will never go back. I made a reservation in person more than 24 hours in advance. I wanted to treat an old friend to a quick birthday toast before a show she was attending nearby. Later that night, another friend became available to join but, because they do not actually have a phone that takes calls (only offers an announcement to go to Resy or email) adding another person was not at all easy. I would have had to cancel and rebook and wasn't sure I'd be able to (reservation was for a Saturday night) In most places, a table for 3 easily accommodates 4. But not here. When two of us arrived, they made it clear this was a big problem. I would have walked out right then but I would have been charged $90! We decided to stay and make the best of it, which was a challenge. For a speakeasy, the vibe was aggressive, not relaxing. Very loud music and not great acoustics.) Too cramped to be comfortable, proving that small does not necessarily mean cozy! We asked if we could take a chair from the table next to us, which was empty (it was only 6 pm; I told our server we'd be gone by 7 because my friend, the birthday girl, had to catch a show.) We were told No! To say the waiter was cold, unfriendly, and indifferent is generous. He was totally rude. He literally told my friend she couldn't sit in a chair that was otherwise empty, knowing we'd be leaving momentarily. Then he had the gail to hand me the bill with a 22% tip pre-selected...and watched over me while I signed it! Definitely the least satisfying $100 I have ever spent. Disappointing. It was good to see my friends, but I so wish I hadn't picked this place. Never again.
