This place is so cute! It looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside, but there is so much to discover inside. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was great, burgers were some of the best we've had in Charleston. The fries are definitely a staple menu item, the are HUGE. The sodas that they have are unique and really tasty. My only complaint is that when we were there, there were what I would assume were managers talking loudly about personal business at the very end of the bar right next to our table. Managers need breaks too, but IMO it was unprofessional to sit that close to customers and talk about non-work related things while on the clock. Not a big deal, and it was nothing that would make me not want to come back, but just my opinion.

What a chill place to have lunch. The food was awesome and the craft beer choices on tap were fantastic. Our bar tender, Allison, was a sweetheart. Our experience was just what we needed after walking the Boone Hall Plantation early that day. Plus the Olympics were on to seal the deal of a five star lunch. Check out!

Left work early for happy hour...I have no idea where I was going, but bumped into Bumpa's (see what I did there?) along the way and what a cool place! I ordered a beer, the bartender was very nice and attentive. I told him I wanted to eat but nothing too big, something tasty and he told me I should order the chili. I was a little skeptical ordering chili when it is pretty warm out...but I did. It was REALLY good. It hit the spot and was enough for the whole night - I didn't need anything more to eat. While there, I met some nice folks also sitting at the bar - but they happen to work at the Landing and suggested I go there for she crab soup. Which I did, the following day for lunch. I enjoyed the ambiance and friendly service and other patrons who who worked in the local area... The bar was really nice and big inside with sit down tables. I'd definitely come back here!

Typical Charleston disappointment. Overpriced, slow service, OK food. It took us 15 minutes just getting to place our drink orders. While the place wasn't slammed by any means, they were very clearly understaffed. Burgers are $14+ yet I need to pay $2 more for fries on the side? $15 for a large order of disco fries? $8 for a bowl of chili, which was mostly rice, and the meat had that Taco Bell "this came from a toothpaste tube" texture. Caesar salad description claimed anchovies, nary an anchovy to be seen or tasted. Even the Parmesan on the salad was literally tasteless. Couldn't taste the dressing either. Grilled chicken was pretty cold, so I am sure it was precooked (probably at a factory) and re-heated. Kids didn't mind their meals. Took us over an hour from start to finish for a meal that in all honesty I could have gotten just as good from Five Guys for half the price and been in and out in 20 minutes. Look, I love supporting local businesses (yes yes, I know the franchise model means even a Burger King is a local business), but I can't pretend to be happy at paying $93 before tip for a few sodas and juices for the kids, a sandwich and fries for each kid, and a salad and chili for myself, and walking out hungry because all I ate was a small cup of chili and the chicken and croutons from the bland, pointless salad. As I keep having to say when I eat in Charleston, "price sets expectations" and a $16 burger (before fries!) better be a gas changes in a world where I can get a Whopper for $3 on Wednesday and Five Guys is a thing and Heavy's Barburger is right up the road! After reading all the amazing reviews, I was very excited to try this hidden gem. However, the service was so slow. We were seated about 25min after arrival which wasn't bad but then took another 45 min to get food. The burgers and salad were the stars of the meal. The pickles onions made everything delicious. The fish looked big but was mostly breading. The bloody was tasty. Not sure I would return based on service.

My burger was pretty good even with my request for no bun. Its got a farmhouse/tavern hip vibe with a solid draft and cocktail selection.

Stopped here for a happy hour drink and the vibes did not disappoint! There was a live musician, plenty of tvs to watch sports games and tons of large groups. I did not have any food but the draft list was unique and diverse. I tried one of the sours on tap which was delicious. The bartender was attentive and friendly. I would definitely come back here for a drink and to try the food.

Disco fries

Disco fries were huge and sounded so much better in concept than the execution. They were surprisingly bland and needed salt. Cool restaurant inside. Service was good just a bit slow and she had to be reminded we asked for things previously.

GET THE FRIES. you won't regret it and the basket size is perfect for a big family!

Popped in while in town for a mini-vaycay in Charleston and boy are we glad we did! The fries were phenomenal and I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. Plenty of beers on tap as well as a full bar so this would be a great spot for after work drinks too!

Well this was a pleasant stop. Who knew French Fries could be a specialty? Well prepare to be surprised. They do fries like an ice cream shop does toppings. And one order is enough for two! Service was kind and friendly.

I think I'm over downtown restaurants. It's mostly tourist attractions. I'm sure there are a few good ones still out there. But the track record is so bad. Charging high dollar amounts for Great value seafood, food just not that good, the traffic the wait on food that's not so good. I have a few more on my collection list I will get to. But living north of Ashley phosphate has really panned out. There are so many good restaurants on that side of North Charleston and Summerville goose Creek areas. The Oscars have really came up through the years. And the food is better. I miss old school downtown Charleston but that has changed. Which brings us to this restaurant. I remember coming here in my youth it used to be a club called acme right behind here. It was super lit. Before acme was a Jamaican spot where you would go to listen to music call mishgins. Nostalgia. Shout out to all the old school Charleston folks that know no what I'm talking about. Pretty nice environment in here. I sat on the side where the entrance door is. They have a big bar area. The place was lively lot of energy lot of people. We started off with fried green tomatoes and french fry appetizers. I forgot what the french fries were called but they had beer cheese barbecue sauce and jalapeno peppers in them. We murdered those fries within seconds. They had no chance. The beer cheese is BUSSING!!!!. So good. They come in different sizes I ordered the bigger one by mistake I think they call it a keg. Turns out it wasn't a mistake we are true gluttons. The fried green tomatoes were terrible. Hard as a rock. And super small. If you can't get regular size green tomatoes just don't get any at all. You're a restaurant dude. They were like small hard sand dollars with pimento cheese on them. My son had the burger I ordered the fish and chips. My daughter ordered the chicken sandwich. Because we already had so many fries we ordered hush puppies. That's another thing you need more side items on your menu. My son said he enjoyed his burger. I tasted it was decent. My daughter didn't like her chicken sandwich. But in their defense she doesn't like anything. Lol. Instead of the fries I ordered the salad. The breading on the fish was excellent. But maybe too excellent. Some of the fish came out of the breading. So I just ate the fish in itself. Turned out it was spoiled. The flavor on the breading is so good that disguised spoiled fish. And that is usually the story of downtown. Anytime I get seafood high price but no quality. Happens every time. I'm going to say this one more time because I don't want to beat a Dead horse. But can we please get more waiters and waitresses with people of color? Everywhere I go that's either upscale or pretty decent I never see black people at the tables. We're always in the kitchen though. Kind of hard to believe you're not getting any black applicants. It's been going on for years. The world is changing. I'm seriously thinking about not tipping places that don't have black servers. If you are thinking the same please join me. Be safe out there.

The food was alright. Nothing spectacular. The pretzels were not pretzels at all but seemed like maybe fried pretzel bun pieces. Our waitress Jessika was amazing though. The interior is nice. Some insects since doors are always open.

I have never had a bad drink here. I got the Batata Clarified Milk Punch (description in picture) which was fantastic. The toasted marshmallow garnish was a great touch for the season we were in. My mom got the Bourbon and Clyde and she said it was incredible. Description also in picture. The orange foam and pistachio crumble was a great addition. Another great drink for autumn. My second drink was the Smokin Indo which was probably my favorite. They performed the smoked glass technique with applewood which was not only cool to watch but added a unique flavor to the drink. We always make a point to get the assorted cheeses when we are here because they make a great charcuterie board. They switch up the cheeses just like they change their cocktail menu. Love to sit at the bar because it is truly an art to watch the bartenders make these drinks and really adds to the experience. Everyone who works here is super kind and knowledgeable on their craft. However, if you are able to be there when the two Doar brothers are working it makes it truly special. They give postcards with their check and there's a bowl of matchbooks sitting on the bar. One of the best cocktail bars in Charleston. Debated writing this because I selfishly want to keep it under the radar but it definitely deserves its accolades.

We asked when we ordered about the flavor profile and supposedly it wasn't sweet, but all 3 of us agreed it was way oversweet. My black manhattan was phenomenal and my husband had a mocktail moscow mule that was awesome. Overall, I'd come back again - just be mindful of the ingredients in the drink and modifying as needed for sweetness. Make a reservation if you can!

To start Abigail, our waitress, was attentive, helpful, super sweet and just about the best waitress I have ever had. My wife and I ordered a round of cocktails, expecting the usual great description with subsequent lack luster drinks. Last night was different, midnight bloom which is their take on an old fashioned, but really in a different league; Smooth complex, and satisfying. My wife got the Ruby Ruby which is sort of a pomegranate martini with champagne. Refreshing and vibrant. For appetizers we had the blue crab fritters and the pork belly. The fritters were crispy, light, and full of crab flavor. Virtually no filler. I could have eaten a hundred. The pork belly was crispy, and rich without being too heavy. They also serve it in a white sauce that I was still thinking about the next day. For entrees we got the Roasted grouper and the pork shank. The grouper was maybe a bit overcooked and dry, but the accompanying butter beans stole the show. The were rich, and layered with flavor. I will never see the simple butter bean in the same way ever again. The pork was fall off the bone tender without being dry. The sauce it was served in was a masterpiece. There were hints of apple, berry, cinnamon, and many other notes, I would drink it by the glass if it was available. We split the gelato for dessert. Pure delight. Smooth, bursting with flavor, and leaving you wanting for more. All in all, except for a small misstep with the cook on the grouper a near perfect dinner. I would go there soon because a Michelin star can not be far off, and then getting a table will be a near impossibility.

Nice list of 3 mocktails so even if not consuming alcohol one can look to play the part at the table and enjoy the flavor notes of a well made cocktail. The first meal we had was a bit of a work/get together meal. We ordered an assortment of items off of the menu and created a more tapas menu. The charcuterie board we picked the cheeses for and it was lovely. All as expected and quite surprised to find a cheddar I enjoyed. Came with some grapes, figs, nuts, honey and I think mustard. Glazed carrots were phenomenal. Heartily enjoyed the beet salad and thought the presentation was quite pretty. Lamb lettuce wraps are alright. Not my favorite of all the dishes served but delivered as promised, nicely cooked and presented. Spouse really liked the lamb wraps and were a stand out dish to them. Meatballs are excellent truly great texture and flavor. Escargot was a fun take on a classic dish. Finished with a unique strudel in its presentation it was quite pleasant. Spouse liked the peanut butter chocolate dessert. For brunch, I had the carrot ginger soup. Which I must say was a total delight. The soup had the hallmark texture and base flavor of the carrot ginger but it had a beautiful breath of savory and some heat seasoning wise to it. It was quite an elevated soup and heartily enjoyed! I followed the carrot soup with a French toast. I am all for softly scrambled eggs but the French toast was a touch undercooked. (I did not let the restaurant know or give them the chance to make right. I regularly eat soft boiled eggs and soft scrambled so I felt comfortable with consuming them.) Strawberries were ripe and tasty. The whipped cream was gorgeous in thickness and flavor. One in law had the caesar salad with croutons and grilled chicken. Their bowl was left clean so while they are not the talkative of sorts they did seem to enjoy it. Ordered a baguette with butter. Unfortunately the butter never made it to the table but the baguette was enjoyed. Spouse had the Azur burger with the side of tapas style potatoes. All was cooked properly to temperature and texture.
