Situated on the former site of an antique store, Bullfrog Brewery has sat on West 4th Street for 30 years in the vibrant downtown and stands out with both its flagship pub and a dedicated production facility, where my partner, his family, our friends, and I decided on dinner yesterday. A reservation was made for a party of 10. Upon entering, some of us as first-timers were greeted by the staff in a historic building with its brick and brass features along the brewing vats looming in the bar and dining areas. The vibe was warm, relaxed, and full of character. It's the kind of place where one instantly feels at home with indoor and outdoor dining options. Their menu tends to be hearty and comforting cuisine consisting of familiar savors of sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, and wings as well as more unique flavors and options for gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan patrons. For starters, we ordered Fried Pierogi, Roasted Cauliflower, and Sesame Pepper Tuna. Our main meal consisted of a Fried Fish Sandwich, Garlic-Crusted Chicken, Veggie Mac & Cheese, and Frogobello Sandwich, to name a few. The food was cooked well, tasty, and came out in a very timely manner. The staff were friendly and welcoming, checking in at the right intervals and ensuring we had everything we needed. They're located in the heart of Downtown Williamsport and bring their A game when it comes to food and brews. The Good: *Great location right across from the theater (we were there to see a graduation) *Friendly service *Small dog-friendly front patio *Live music *Sunday Brunch *Fried Pierogis were delicious and served up hot and fresh. I wish they were a little more seasoned, as the mashed potato filling needed more salt. But ain't that the way taters always is? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ *Carissa loved her Korean BBQ Salmon Salad, as the fish was cooked perfectly and the house KBBQ sauce was delicious. *Huge draft list of housemade beers, ciders, and even sodas. *My Pittsburger was epic! Talk about a meal in one handful: burger, slaw, and fries all packed neatly between two soft pillowy buns made this a Man vs Food episode in the making. The Meh: *Free but limited street parking. There are several small lots adjacent but I'm not sure what their limitations are. The Ugly: *The place can fill up fast, especially if there's an event/show at the aforementioned theater. Overall/ maybe worth stopping by again, but it'll be a tough sell to my husband, especially with other establishments in the area we know we like better, or would try. A kind of expensive stop for meh food and beer. Staff were amazing, so I feel slightly bad for a critical review. ---------------------------- Parking/ This started off the experience rocky for our vehicle. There seemed to be no specific parking dedicated to the brewery. There seemed to be a lot next door for the bank, but there was tons of signage saying it was for the bank, and others would be towed. There seemed to be street parking, but tons of signs saying no parking, loading zones, etc. After three trips around the block settled on the bank since it was Sunday. Had this been any other day, I could have seen us giving up and going elsewhere. Ambiance/ Very brewery-esque with tanks, natural vibes, etc. There was a live jazz trio playing who sounded lovely, but I just wasn't in the mood to try to talk over music, and asked to be moved further away. It seemed like the general feel, many were sat in main bar area, and asked to move back. Staff/ Every single staff member was super friendly, helpful, prompt, and trying to make your experience go well, so super shout out to the staff. Food/ We were stopping through the area around lunch time, so we didn't need anything crazy, but if you weren't getting breakfast or a burger, there wasn't much else. We both ordered a burger (All American and the breakfast/fried egg one). The All-American was good and I upgraded to fries. Breakfast burger was "good enough" I'm told. The chips that come with the burgers are just bagged kettles chips and not homemade. Beers/ We actually came in thinking we weren't going to drink, but were suckers for trying new things. Husband had an IPA and I had a fruited sour. Neither of us liked our beers, and I purposely made sure to drink mine before finishing my food so I didn't have to end with it. Price/ I don't know the area well but beers were $7-$8 for 10 oz pours. For two burgers, one with bagged chips and one with upgraded fries, and 2 not good beers, our bill was $50+. Which isn't terrible, but I could find better places to eat for that price point. read more

This is the kind of place I want to gate keep but I guess I'll share the love. We popped in for lunch while in town for a college tour. It was exactly our kind of place. Great craft beer selection. A good cocktail selection for me (with PA spirits) and house made root beer for our non alcohol drinkers. I had the Pierogi appetizer for my meal - get it with the garlic butter (drool). Kid got the nacho burger - oh. My. God! Hubs also had a burger and said it was yummy. Definitely a great place to come sit at the bar alone or grab a table with a group. read more

Super great food! The wait staff I have had the past couple visits have been super friendly and attentive (even during dinner rush during graduation season). The inside has a cool ambiance, and they make good use of their space. The drinks are kinda pricey for the area but they are unique and well crafted. The food is special, no Sysco junk here (iykyk). I haven't tried their craft beers, but if its anything like their food you should give it a try. parking can be a bit rough when downtown gets busy, but make the trip over here if you can. read more

I've dined in with my family on one occasion, and our service was fast and attentive. The restaurant was at medium capacity during our visit. Their beer selection does not disappoint. I recommend the Special Dubbel if you like malty dark brews with a smooth finish at 7.5% ABV. From the food menu, we ordered a few selections. If you like wings, that bourbon bbq sauce is slappin! Very much enjoyed my Pittsburger. I could only eat half because it's massive. I remember being impressed that they achieved crispy bacon without making it look burnt. The hand-cut fries are better than the battered fries. I see why people stay for the beer and food, but don't sleep on the dessert. We tried both the warm toffee bun and the lemon crème layer cake with whipped cream, which rounded out what was already a high experience with Bullfrog Brewery. Do I recommend this business? Was back home for the weekend and after spending time with family we were starving. Decided to try an old favorite and it did mot disappoint. We were seated immediately, it was not very busy which is surprising because the food is good. We got the pretzel logs with honey mustard and beer cheese. The pretzel was so warm, fluffy and crunchy. Absolutely lived the sweetness of the honey mustard. As my main I did get their vegetable chili mac n cheese, the menu did say that it was spicy. But honestly it wasn't. Still super good though. Loved their cheese sauce. Made sure to eat every single last drop. For dessert we got s'mores lava, was absolutely not planning on eating it but super glad I did. So warm and moist. read more

Nice local spot in Williamsport that has beer and food. The beer selection was varied but featured sours and wild ales. Our server offered samples before ordering and ghat helped very much. I enjoyed Edgar, their double IPA, and a Barleywine. Both very nice. The gnome ordered a cosmo. The first is was good pub food. I had the jerk chicken dinner that came with rice and broccoli. She had a Pittsburgher burger that was a Primanti Brothers knockoff. We both enjoyed it ur neals. Interesting spot as the surrounding buildings had great murals outside gf buildings. This place is adorable with loads of character, and a nice little outdoor patio in a cute downtown area. They have a lot of dietary needs marked out on the menu, which I always appreciate. I had the burger which was quite delicious, but it did take an hour for food to come out, which was never addressed by the server which was off putting. It's nice to at least have your wait acknowledged and let people know that their food is on the way it's just behind. They had a large beer selection but I did not try any. read more

We've been coming to Bullfrog Brewery twice a year for about four years, as part of a twice-annual road trip. The service is always friendly and they have a good selection of interesting beers to try. Recently we had the veggie mac and cheese, and it was absolutely outstanding -- full of delicious roasted veggies! My son and I joked that we wanted to lick the plates clean, the beer cheese sauce was so tasty. Their Korean BBQ stir-fry is also a reliable choice. Be warned that if there is live music inside, it is impossible to hear the people you are seated with because the music is *so loud.* The outdoor seating is a nice alternative in spring and summer. read more

A great spot in Williamsport. Staff was friendly, service was okay. Beers are definitely on the high ABV side, I'd say comparable to most PA breweries. Their menu has some interesting choices. I had the burger with cream cheese and everything but the bagel seasoning on it. While those are two things I love, they didn't quite work with the burger. Fries were really good though. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely go back though and try something else. read more

I use to go there a lot now it's once and a while just because I'm not in downtown Williamsport much anymore. The recent times I've been there were good the service was fine. The Last time I was there I had like a Greek salad and a craft beer both of which were really good. The place still remains the same pretty much with a few changes since they opened in 1996. I like restaurants like this where it is built around the big kettles brewing the beer and all of the knobs, switches, gauges, etc. blinking and working to brew delicious beer. The burger was cooked medium like I ordered it with a little pink and very juicy. I had a Simple German Pilsner draft and it was excellent. I sat at the bar in front of the kettles and was waited on by the bar staff quickly and was checked in on every few minutes during my meal which was appreciated. Overall great experience! read more
