While walking aimlessly in the "district" on a Friday night after six pm, most restaurants only had a few people inside. A local resident outside of a business asked if we were looking for something. When we shared we were trying to find a place for dinner, he highly recommended the Old Corner Hotel and gave us walking directions. As we approached, we could hear laughter and multiple conversations. When we entered (directly into the bar section), there were people seated surrounding the bar and at a few tables. We asked to be seated in the dining room which was about 1/3 full. The lighting was nice, with some natural light coming in through the stained glass windows, as well as some dim lamps on each table. Our server, Tori, was helpful in sharing both the daily specials, as well as describing the drink menu. All servers were very attentive, with several check ins during the course of the evening. Prior to receiving our entrées, we were brought some warm bread and olive oil, which was delicious. Our entrées also arrived quickly and were very flavorful. I had heard good things about this place. Finally made it (during a First Friday busy night). There were 3-4 bartenders and we sat there at the bar for over 10 mins without anyone acknowledging us. I finally had to yell out "Excuse me. Can we please get a menu?" We got a menu, then 10 mins later had to call someone over to take our order. Our wine glasses were empty for 15 mins and it wasn't until we were done with our meal that they asked if we wanted more wine. By that time, we didn't anymore. The meals. Mine was an ahi tuna over an Asian type salad. For some reason, carrots were on the dish, which was kind of weird for that sort of dish. My boyfriend got a side of potato chips that were so over-cooked (see pic) that they tasted burned. I can't imagine wanting to dine here again. read more

What a wonderful experience! Went to The Old Corner Hotel for dinner tonight. The building was built in the 1800s and the dining room is almost all original. Food was definitely on a par with major city restaurants, as was the service. Devon, our server, was exceptional, and she too could work in any restaurant we've ever been to. When she overheard us mention our anniversary they gave us our choice of desserts and brought one for each. If you're in Williamsport don't miss the Old Corner Hotel! read more

I'm glad this bar emphasized the importance of wearing a mask or you receive no service. Kudos to them! As soon as we walked in you will be asked if you have a reservation which is totally understandable since setting appears to be spaced. Service we waited for about 5-7 mins before the bartender took our orders. The wait for the food was a little slow in our opinion but probably average to them. As pictured we ordered the flatbread, wings, a wine and cocktail. The food overall was ok (salty in my opinion) but the cocktail made up for the food. If we decide to come back it will definitely be for the cocktails. read more

A staple in Williamsport. The have a bar area and a more traditional dining room. Staff is very friendly. We started with the goat cheese croquettes and one of the flatbreads, both were great. I had the Steak House Salad as my entree, the steak was a little off but the salad was otherwise pretty good. Prices are perhaps a little steep for some of the entrees. Regardless, would definitely recommend checking this place out. read more

It took quite a while to get acknowledged and seated, probably just busy and short-staffed like everywhere, but from there it was all wonderful. Kind and very knowledgeable server, she knew the menu well and gave great recommendations. Their New Zealand sauv blanc was refreshingly grapefruity, and their cocktail list looked really good too. The Chicken Scallopini was wonderful. Not heavy on the garlic (insert chefs kiss), perfectly balanced lemon caper sauce, the pecorino gnocchi was good, and to top it had arugula - a nice fresh and spicy touch. I came here mainly to hang out and have a drink. I wasn't expecting to have an awesome meal, but I sure did. The goat cheese croquettes were so, so good. I could eat them all day, every day. Great flavors, pulled together by the roasted red pepper relish. Yum. The impossible burger (thank you for having this!!!) was extremely good. The shape of the patty was a little unique, but it was very nicely seasoned, and the bun/toppings were perfect with it. It was slightly over-cooked, but a lot of places seem to do that with impossible burgers, maybe not realizing it's okay for them to stay a little pinker inside, just like a medium or medium rare meat burger. But again, the seasoning and dish as a whole made up for it. Fyi, I think they either cooked it with butter or spread some on the bun, so check on that if you're going for vegan instead of vegetarian. Also, two of our meat-eating friends decided to order one also, and both said they'd 100% get it again. Very friendly service. Good, relaxed vibe inside, live music outside. read more

We were at this bar having some drinks and enjoying the night when all of a sudden a bouncer showed up and kicked out our friend for being a little sleepy. Our friend wasn't sloppy , wasn't aggressive and definitely did not deserve to be kicked out the way he was. After reading all the 5 star reviews expectations were really high on food. We went by on a Thursday evening for a dinner. Place was not very busy only another couple was in the dining room - so we had the choice and took as a nice table in a corner. Service was really nice no doubt about that. Also the interior in the dining area is ok - tastes are different but it looks welcoming. So now all the high expectations in the food - the bar was risen high ... unfortunately our expectations were not fulfilled. We started with a special dip which was really good - I had the scallops risotto with truffle oil. The scallops were ok but nothing special, the risotto really average and I couldn't taste any truffle oil. So overall ok really nothing extraordinary. My wife had the vodka gnocchi. They tasted ok - the gnocchi seemed to be self made but you couldn't taste out any vodka or other finesse in the sauce. Also here it was ok but nothing extraordinary. The portion size for us was good - if you are really hungry they may be considered as small. We had than the creme brûlée to finish - the chef makes it with a special taste (I will not say what it is) I think you will like it or not - it was not really ours but I would not blame it to the chef - I like it very much if a chef tries out own ways. The prices are ok. Overall a little disappointment because of the very high expectations - but still I would come again with lower expectations. read more

Stopped here with a coworker while in town for work and staying at a local hotel within walking distance. We were instantly greeted upon walking in and asked to sit in the outside area. What a beautiful setting! The grape vines added a romantic and private feel to the patio area. I had an island rum runner to drink, the penne with lobster in asiago cream sauce and my colleague had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes. We both loved our meals! Traveling for work I miss the comfort foods of home. That said, Kate and the staff at the Old Corner have gone out of their way to make me feel welcome. As a treat, Kate made me some grilled shrimp tacos that, to my imagination, are like gentle kisses from an angel. The significance may not seem that incredible to the locals since the Mexican food experience in Williamsport is drab and mild. The Angel Kiss tacos are robust and full of Baja pizzazz. On my many visits here I've enjoyed everything this fine dining establishment has to offer. I've yet to be remotely disappointed by the food and service. read more

The Bolognese was fantastic, clearly freshly made, and served piping hot. The house made focaccia bread was warm and delicious. The crème brûlée was delicious and the fresh spearmint leaf added enough tang to counterbalance the sweetness of the vanilla and Brûlée sugar. The only misstep here was the Caesar salad. It was obviously prepped a little too far ahead of time, with brown spots on the white spines of many of the leaves. The taste was good, but it wasn't exactly visually appealing. The ambience in the old dining room is quiet with enough nostalgia to bring one back to the olden days of gas lamps, and thick wallpaper. The service was very good. I had Alexa on one of her first nights, and she did great. Staff works very hard and responds to the colored lights on the wall above the kitchen door. it's actually quite fun to watch them respond to the signals from the kitchen. Okay I was very hungry and just stopped there to see what I could pickup. I'm a vegan so I know there wouldn't be much options for me. So I went for the spaghetti. Ordered it without the scallops and a side of bread to go. Got a cranberry juice as I waited. I paid $17.05 after taxes. That's not a bad price if it was actually a decent amount of food. I don't eat a lot of food and I was quite upset about the quantity, so I can imagine Americans not being satisfied. A can of spaghetti has about twice as much as I got and the taste was a 4 on a scale of 1-10. I was actually really happy before I left there with my food because the two ladies behind the bar were pleasant but I wouldn't recommend the place. There menu seemed great with choices so I wouldn't say "don't go there" because your luck might be better than mine. However, from what I just ate, I wouldn't recommend it. read more
