Went there for dinner on a Wednesday afternoon around 4pm. It wasn't really busy which is what we were hoping for since it was our first time there. We received service rather quickly and the ones who sat then served us were some very nice people. The food ordered came out in a great amount of time and was absolutely fabulous. I can actually say this the big bear burger captured my taste buds in a way that hasn't been seen in a good 10 or 15 years. My wife absolutely devoured her steak and the smile on her face this whole experience just made it so much more. The big serving of home cut fries, down to the big tossed salad, I really felt that my money was worth what I received. My wife has social problems and she absolutely felt so welcome and comfortable here, we have already claimed it to me our most favorite place for food in Williamsport. I was recently in the area for work, I would not return. Although the hostess was very friendly the food wasn't all that good. I had the chicken wings and hand cut fries. The fries we awesome the could've been a bit crispier but they were definitely fresh right out of the oil. The wings however were dry and tasted like they were pre fried but fried too long the second time. They were dry all the way through then drowned in barbecue sauce that wasn't really flavorful at all. I would have much preferred less sauce and a juicier wing. It was in a small town so not much to the ambiance. A basic tavern type of vibe. We went for lunch and barely anyone was there but I'm assuming it was better for dinner. Service was amazing! Seat yourself! The ambiance is amazing a lot of good people but the bar is a little louder, so if you're just dining in sit away from the bar. The food was really good! I got a deluxe chicken cheesesteak and it was amazing. It does say comes with double meat and double cheese only but you can get it in the garden. Just passing through and stopped here. Not knowing what we were walking in to. It's a car restaurant ordered "The Bear Burger" & my wife ordered "the grizzly bear prime rib sandwich" With onion rings. The food was excellent the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, the music in the restaurant seating area was comfortable and a little louder in the bar area. The staff was excellent, friendly and accommodating. Would definitely come back when passing through the area again and would probably go a little out of my way to eat there again. read more

The food here is really good and the staff is friendly. They are open all the time. I sort of has like a dive bar/ restaurant feel to it.

We've only been one time, and we will definitely go again! We shared an order of wings, and they were very tasty. My husband thought they were crispier than he preferred, but I thought they were perfect. We each got a burger, and they were amazing! Super flavorful, generously portioned, and presented well. We opted for Brew City fries with a side of cheese, and they were served hot and crisp. I ordered a seasonal drink - I think it was an apple cider caramel cocktail, and it was like a dessert beverage. Our server was friendly and attentive, and the location was clean although it was a bit dark in a way that kind of gave it dive bar vibes. The only drawback I found was that the ladies restroom is single occupancy, and the door was like 18" from patrons seated at a table. I love going to the Crippled Bear with my friends from Trout Run, PA. Great country type bar, super friendly staff, with great food. We always get fresh cut fries and corn nuggets. The small fry is literally at least 2 or 3 entire potatoes. Nice selection of micros, including one of my local favorites, Broken Heals from New Trail. Lunch was $20, but I had a beer. The regular Philly steak (onions, peppers, tomato sauce was large. They did mine as a chicken Philly. We were all pleasantly full and ready for a quiet afternoon. I'm from around Harrisburg and some guys from work took me to this place. Leslie was our server and she crushed it for us. Upbeat, happy, and great recommendations. She hustled hard even though it was obvious they were understaffed. I had a dozen wings since it was 75 cent wings that nighy. Half sweet chili which were amazing and half bear juice. You have to try the local sauce! It was delicious. Supposedly hot sauce mixed with brown sugar. Amazing. Prices were absolutely affordable and very reasonable based off portion size. read more

Called in for take out about a month ago and was put on hold for 15 minutes before my order was taken. Bartender was rude on the phone and when I got there I was met with the same attitude. Food took 45 mins which wasnt awful, but my mama bear roast beef was bland and my wives stomach was upset after she had the buffalo bites. Portions were also small for the price. Do not recommend this place at all and you would be better off supporting the Trail Inn up the street. read more

Stayed in Williamsport for the night, found this place here on Yelp and were immediately intrigued by both the name and the other reviewer's pictures. This place did not disappoint! It was a Monday night and I was surprised how busy they were and it only got busier as the night went on. Between the $2 Captain and Coke (Pepsi really) drink special and funnel cakes on the appetizer menu, we were very happy with our decision. Came in on a Saturday evening, was driving from Timbuktu to next to nowhere so I wasn't far from this place. Seriously I drove by a bear check in station so ... heard the wings were good and as advertised they were ! Also had a burger sans bun and salad trying to save my carbs for the adult beverages. The burger called a Hangover burger. The eggs bacon and cheese were great the burger was way over cooked. I also was underwhelmed with the draft beer selection. I guess yuengling and troegs are considered craft beers . They certainly are local. Definitely a Miller / Busch crowd at the bar. After getting the your not from here stink eye , the bar tender did ask me how was everything? I responded good except the burger . She immediately order me another at too was well done. Not dried up burnt like the first but definitely over cooked. That may be the hangover recipe. regardless this place has a great name , good wings and beer! So I will definitely be back next time I'm driving to east jabibip. read more

Stopped 2 weeks ago with softball families. Party of about 14 including teenage girls. Great service, great food and a nice atmosphere to have burgers, wings, pizza and beer. There were a lot of choices on the menu if you prefer more of an entree, but we are simple "ball families". Indoor and outdoor seating. Very fair pricing. Stopped by here for a quick lunch while driving back from New York on a Sunday. I enjoyed the mounted animals on the walls. There were plenty of seating available when my girlfriend and I arrived. I ordered a pulled pork BBQ sandwich, which came with pickles and a bag of potato chips. The waitress was polite when taking our order. It was a slow day, so service didn't take too long. I asked if there was dessert available, but I wasn't in the mood for a peanut butter pie. With the quick service, inexpensive meal, and clean restrooms, I'd recommend this venue to others traveling through PA. read more
