Even though this business was closed due to the bank holiday, they opened just for us so we could celebrate. Space was excellent, drinks are great, and again, the staff could not have been nicer and more accommodating. Looking forward to going back to Oxford soon so I can hit the Mad Hatter again!

The egg was a talking point with friendly punters and sadly as I placed her on the bar to photograph her, she rolled off, smashing beneath my platforms. The manager quickly came to the floors aid and scooped up the mess, with me saying "who would bring an egg to a lovely place like this?" in his ear hole. Ahem. We got served quickly, even though the bar area is tiny and were produced with a fantastic passion fruit cocktail with a shot of expensive champagne. Later I had a shot of tequila and an 80's Pina Colada which I have to say was the best I'd ever had. Even after real ones in Cuba. A…read morefantastic atmosphere with its ultra comfortable leather booth seats, skylight bringing in natural sunlight, even plug sockets for laptop users and free wifi. It also seems the place to watch live sports over a drink and a burger with tv screens on each corner of the restaurant yet it is still very family friendly and service has always been impeccable. In my honest opinion I do believe they serve some of the best American dishes around and can even compete with some of London's favourite diners. Wild wings (cajun) x6 Incredibly moreish and can see myself finishing a higher quantity bucket load. The wing sizes were quite average but very succulent and meaty inside. The cajun spices gave it a nice sweet paprika garlicky flavour and latched on well on the crispy skins of the wing showing that they were well fried, Sloppy Joes Ticked all the boxes for a fantastic burger. First that lovely pillow soft brioche bun, slightly charred so it came warm. Then came the rich tender minced beef fried with onions and peppers in there to give it some texture and boost of flavour. The sauce it came with was generous, with lovely rich sweet and and savoury notes keeping everything moist and juicy throughout. Finished off nicely with a fine slice of cheese, melted perfectly to intensify the umami flavours. Full rack ribs A delicious slab of ribs, keeping its meaty texture and flavours which suggest it was slow cooked the full length of time to tenderise and soften the meat. There was no pre cooking the ribs beforehand here. This allowed the rich BBQ coca cola sauce to penetrate through to the bone whilst reducing in liquid to create a rich and sticky coating around the ribs keeping everythign moist and juicy. A nice light creamy coleslaw on the side to cool things off. Curly fries These were perfectly fried. It had that moreish fluffy inside and crispy outside that was coated in the sweet mild spices which you find collapsing on itself as you chew, sending the rush of flavour through each mouthful. I say mouthful as who just pops one in their mouth per bite, not if they are this good. Chilli fries Not the spicy chilli as I imagined but chilli consisting of a wonderful well flavoured mix of red kidney beans, onions and red peppers in a lovely thick tomato slurry that helped bind the sauce and flavours on each and every chip. Drizzled with sour cream to add a lovely creamy consistency. Very wholesome dish. Sloppy suits every occassion whether it's your quick lunch or a celebration feast. Food has always been fantastic and paired with that is it's lovely bright and spacious atmosphere. Those who can eat a lot like me should definitely go for one of their food challenges. try their Sloppy Joes challenge and knock me down the top of the chart if you can.

For the next round, my partner ordered a Negroni, and it was pretty bitter, even for a Negroni. I just tried shots of their Chai Bourbon and Maple Tequila. It's incredibly well laid out inside, they have these cool bubbles outside that you can eat in which are kind of like mini cabins, the only sad thing is I don't really have too much time to stay here as I'm just working down the road doing some stuff for a client so no unfortunately I can't really partake of the excellent menu. I wish I could write more but the next time I'm back in this neck of the woods I would definitely come here the staff are also friendly and it's warm inside.
