Yes, someone knocking on the door usually raises a flag for me, but I checked out their website and thought, "Why not?" Within a week, Jesse met with an inspector from my insurance company (USAA), and Jennifer from the office sent the proposal to them. Billy (company owner) and I met online to get all the contract details in order, Melissa coordinated a date with my tenant, and when the day came, the Pure Roofing Team replaced the roof in one day. The tenant reported that the roof looks fantastic and that the clean-up was impeccable. The team made everything so seamless and easy; the hardest thing I had to do was pick out the tile color. While it was possible, Jonathan really felt that the work required to do it properly would be more than what I should spend on the total project. He convinced me to go with vinyl siding, which would be less maintenance and still keep the look I was going for. They were very fast with scheduling, and their project manager was very communicative over text messages about the process from start to finish, which I appreciate. The only two points I would raise that made it less than five-star service are: - I had asked them to check out a problem area of trim/fascia/soffit and let me know what could be done about it; the PM confirmed they would but then I didn't hear anything back about it and the crew cleaned up and left without a word. - While the crew did an immaculate job cleaning up my driveway and front yard area, they did a very poor job cleaning up my back deck. I swept it the next day and found about a dozen nails and staples that my children could have been injured on.

The crew made pretty quick work of the remediation/demolition and the rebuild. The timeline estimates were always realistic and pretty close to actual. The only thing that maybe could have been better was the cleaning crew. They did the big things (vacuum, mopping, etc) but afterward we noticed a lot of dust that should have been removed. I live in one of the upstairs units and about a year ago I noticed coloring on the bedroom ceiling. I didn't think much of it because I remembered I was told my roof was in pretty good shape. When I eventually went up to take a look I didn't see evident spots of leaking but I saw the roof needed some attention badly, plus I knew my gutters needed replacing. I contacted a few roofers to come give estimates and got different opinions on how to address. A few I felt would only bandage the situation. I need a fix that would last at least a few years. Mr. Marshall came by on a Wednesday and we discussed the options I had received and he gave a thoughtful explanation and quoted me a fair price. He also scheduled for early Monday morning. He called me Thursday afternoon because his crew had finished a job early and came right over. The receptionist was very helpful, and we easily set up an appointment for Jim (the owner) to come out and take a look at my wind-damaged roof. There was some initial mishaps at the beginning. Basically Jim called me and told me that he needed to be at another job site because it was critical. I mean, I'm not a hard person to work with, so we just rescheduled. I did fly home from Denver early for that appointment.... but ok, let's try again. The next week, we meet up and Jim is pretty awesome. He walks me through the entire house, takes a few measurements, looks at the water spots on the ceilings, sketches some stuff, and tells me this would be easy. He's just gotta do something called an "EagleView" to get exact measurements of the roof. My insurance is kinda sketchy and only gave me money to cover 1/2 the roof, but I tell Jim that I'm gonna get the whole thing done anyway and pay outta pocket. He told me that he would lose money if he only did half a roof, and that all the interior work had very little margins. I totally agree with that, which is why I would do the full roof. I need to email my HOA to get approval before any work can be done, which is taking weeks. I keep Jim in the loop with periodic status update, and everything seems fine. My last update to Jim was that I would be out of the country for 2 weeks, and we would sync up after I get back. By now, it had been several months since I initially reported the issue. I email him back - no response, I call him - no response, I leave messages with the secretary to call me back - no response. I wait around for about 6 weeks for a response, but just never heard anything. I get that they're busy, but if they're not going to treat all customers with respect and courtesy, they will surely not get any of my business. I feel like they completely ignored me because my townhouse would not have been worth their time to re-roof. If that was the case, they could have easily just said so and not waste each other's time. Nonetheless it was something that we wanted to get fixed as soon as possible. Overall we were very happy with the work that Metro did. They were easy to talk to on the phone, were able to answer all of my questions, and we were able to schedule them for the repair very quickly. Their estimate was fair and accurate (and less than a rival estimate we received), and we didn't pay any more than we expected. The two men who came to do the work were very nice, did a great job, and left very little mess to clean up. We had to vacuum up a small amount of dust but it was about what I expected. They did a very good job covering the furniture etc. Our ceiling looks like nothing happened, which is excellent. On the negative side, Metro has a serious punctuality problem. I know that the DC area has bad traffic, but it is not a surprise and they should start planning accordingly. I had an appointment for a free estimate at 10am, however they called around 9 to tell me that they would probably be late, asked if 10:30ish was ok, and then said if I wanted I could just email them photos and we could all just skip the appointment completely. On the day of the scheduled repair I was told that they would arrive between 8 and 8:30, however I got another phone call around 8 saying that it was looking more like 9:30. If we need other contractor services I would use them again, but will start expecting them to arrive an hour or so after their scheduled time.
