They were very fast with scheduling, and their project manager was very communicative over text messages about the process from start to finish, which I appreciate. The only two points I would raise that made it less than five-star service are: - I had asked them to check out a problem area of trim/fascia/soffit and let me know what could be done about it; the PM confirmed they would but then I didn't hear anything back about it and the crew cleaned up and left without a word. - While the crew did an immaculate job cleaning up my driveway and front yard area, they did a very poor job cleaning up my back deck. MWM was the group selected by our Insurance Co. (Travelors) to deal with a leak/mold issue in our kitchen that required removing cabinets and appliances and replacing the entire kitchen floor. While insurance said we could choose someone else for the work, we felt comfortable with MWM right from the start. Our project manager, Mo, did a great job of explaining the process and kept us informed at each step. He tried to keep the scope and timeline of work reasonable, but always let us know when something might or wasn't going to plan (which happened a couple of times). The crew made pretty quick work of the remediation/demolition and the rebuild. The timeline estimates were always realistic and pretty close to actual. The only thing that maybe could have been better was the cleaning crew. They did the big things (vacuum, mopping, etc) but afterward we noticed a lot of dust that should have been removed. I should have hid to Tresa's advice. I would have given this company zero star but yelp forces you to give them a star. Unfortunately, I was stuck with them for the 3.5 months for floor restoration. I signed the papers at the end of June and I just got my floors done in 2nd week of October!! These are the reasons why it took so long: 1) PM is not experienced. If he knew more about hardwood then the length of time to deal with the insurance adjuster would be less. There was alot of going back and forth between a partial floor replacement versus full floor replacement. 2) PM has poor time management skills. He doesn't keep his appointments. He underestimates the amount of time to complete the work. He doesn't quickly order the items that need to be ordered. He needs to be prodded. 3) Lots of unexcusable excuses. Just because my insurance company doesn't fall under your company's umbrella, this doesn't mean that you should pass me over to take care of another customer whose insurance is under your umbrella. You're still getting paid by my insurance and me, no matter what! 4) they cash your last payment before all the work is done! This is my fault. I saw the PM while the crew try to finish up the work. I just wanted to save the PM the time by giving the check to him sooner. They didn't finish the work that day. They had to come back to finish what they can and I still have 3 stairs missing their stair nose molding. 5) I didn't receive any project plan with details on what will be done, how long, and when. I began work with MWM after a water leak caused damage to my ceiling and hardwood floors. My insurance company placed the job with MWM, so I didn't have a chance to research beforehand. The initial inspector who came out was great, but once the project started, it was a mess. - While the crew was working in my home, it was a MESS. Some mess is understandable, but there were literal piles of garbage on the floor. They constantly left the toilet seat up, left footprints on my coffee table (why are you standing on my table?), handprints on the refrigerator. It just made me feel like they had no respect for my home. - The project manager was consistently late, both to meet with me and to order items/start work. He would also be out of touch for a while and then pop up and ask to meet me right away, not seeming to understand that I have a job and have to plan things ahead of time. - The project manager ordered the wrong flooring and then insisted that what I requested didn't exist. When I found the correct flooring and showed it to him, he replaced it but not after trying to convince me to keep the wrong flooring he had already installed. When he finally did order the correct floor, he hadn't measured properly so he didn't have enough material. - During the process of replacing the floor, the crew left marks all over the walls, left glue on the kitchen counter/oven/washing machine, small holes in the walls, broke my dining room light fixture and then seemed confused as to how it happened (??), and chipped the tile on my bathroom floor, which then had to be replaced. read more

This company does not honor appointment times, they do not complete services agreed upon during planning, and when they fail to meet expectations they lie and question the integrity others rather admitting fault. First, I want to say that I've never placed an online poor review. As recommended by a friend, people need to be aware of the poor customer service and unprofessionalism that I received from MWM Restoration, Chantilly, VA. On 3/23/18, Tim Mihill, Estimator-MWM Restoration visited my home to provide an estimate to restore my lower level 2 bedrooms, bathroom and family room after water damage to flooring and walls (I have a split-foyer home). I selected MWM on the spot. He advised that there was not an issue with this being an insurance claim and I was told that they were busy. Well... As of today, 4/14/18, It has been 22 days and I have not heard from Tim Mihill or any employee of MWM Restoration. How hard is it to give a homeowner a call, text, or email to tell them "Unfortunately, I'm not able accept your job." If this is a sign on the type of service I would have received from MWM, then I'm giving thanks! Thankfully, I have identified another contractor to perform the work. Good Luck! read more

I experienced a leak in the shower pan of my Arlington condo. Hassib promptly showed up to estimate the scope of work. He patiently guided me on the selection of replacement tile and a shower door that a previous contractor damaged. His crew started the work promptly, the tile and sheet rock repair workmanship was excellent, and I was very pleased with the overall project. The bathroom looks better than before! We live in townhomes and our neighbor's house completed burned down and caused about 10k in damages to our house. MWM was a mess throughout the whole 2 month renovation process. They were a headache until the last day. Their project coordinator couldn't get the dates and times right so we never knew what or when things were happening. They would pop up at our home last minute for unscheduled repairs. The people that they contract to do painting and carpentry would come in and do a visually sloppy job or leave it looking clearly unfinished and then would act like they didn't see what we were complaining about. We constantly felt like we were fighting to receive the bare minimum in quality of workmanship. We suffered until the last day of the restoration and even 2 months following the end of restoration. They collect a form on the last day to have confirmation that we are pleased with the quality of work. After restoration was finally completed at decent quality, we signed this form and handed it to the coordinator in person and followed-up with their receptionist via phone with a credit card payment for our deductible, only to find out 2 months later that the credit card had never been charged and they had no record of the form that we had signed. Thankfully, I covered myself and had sent myself a picture of the signed form that we had submitted and was able to provide a copy but it just goes to show how unreliable MWM is and how unprofessional their people are. After having gone through such a traumatic event, the last thing you want is for the restoration process to be a headache.
