Restaurant by day, lounge and nightlife spot by night. They have state-of-the-art Lighting and Sound and a great DJ booth. Everything is set up for perfect ambience. There is a Room with a pool table that is free, a nice big Lobby, and they are working on an outdoor patio area. There are also two VIP booths. Several nights a week they have different events whether it's dance music, Latin night, or paint night. But it's always an intimate setting. Im actually choosing to throw my birthday event here at the end of the month. This is definitely a place you want to put on your list. The stars are for the food that I've eaten from here, but I've actually never ate inside. My friends and I were going to eat here, but when we got there, we were told that we weren't allowed in with flip flops. Rules are rules, but I don't see anything harming about wearing flip flops in here. It's not a fancy restaurant and summertime is approaching, are they really gonna turn down every customer that's wearing flip flops? I can even understand basketball shorts or white tees, but flip flops though. I guess it's probably for safety reasons and they think people will injure their foot in here. Anyways, it's just funny that they could have made probably an extra $200-$300 that night as we were going to get food and drinks for our friend's birthday, but it didn't happen. We've actually ordered food from here to pick up and I'm pretty sure we were wearing flip flops at the time as well. I've only been here a few times, but I've had a great time each time I went. The first time I came was during the happy hour, but we didn't get happy hour drinks so essentially paid the same as a regular bar. I had the bartender make me a sweet drink that I really liked (hopefully can get it replicated in the future!). As for far, I would say night time is typical Filipino bar food. I had the pork and tofu, which was amazing and great as a snack when drinking! My friends ordered the crispy pata which is pretty cheap for the amount of meat you get. I also liked the chicken nachos another friend got. I've heard that this place is more restaurant during the day and pub at night, but I really like coming here. Videos, music, live band, authentic food, and excellent dishes that excite the pallet and fills you up. The cost is way below what you expect for such fine cuisine. if you want to eat outside and enjoy the bar and grill, music, large screen TV, and clean atmosphere just do it. The waitresses are knowledgeable of the menu and attentive to your needs. You get the experience of 2-3 cultures. This crap place is located in a residential area yet they play their music so loud it shakes windows and disturbs the peace!

There are many Filipino cuisines/restaurants in Virginia Beach, but Buko takes first place in my book so far!! I went with my girlfriends one night and just loved the atmosphere even if it was a slow night! The owner and staff was very accommodating to us and even try to make us sing karaoke-haha. Food was tasty and delicious! They even have sisig sushi, which is unlikely to be found in VB. I thought that was very creative of Buko! The only thing negative I have to say is that the sizzling sisig wasn't sizzle-y enough. Overall, my whole experience was fantastic! Bad service earns a bad review. After deciding what to order I first asked the waitress to break a 20 for change to play pool. She responded you can get change at the bar. Ok. She then proceeded to ask if we wanted to order anything. Yes I would food and drinks but if I have to walk to the bar anyway shouldn't I just order there. She responded whatever you want to do. She apparently did not care for my response because while at the bar she was complaining about my question and response to coworkers. Don't think I've ever had a waitress that doesn't get change. We were here for a party one time and the food was just okay. But the service was extremely slow, even though there was our party and one other small table of 4 people. I think the service was so slow, the small table of 4 just got up and left as they had not been served yet. One of the people in the party ordered a buko pie and he did not get it for 40 minutes. After the first 20 minutes, the server said they were trying to "find it" and when it was finally served 20 minutes later the inside was leaking out and molten as if it had been thrown in the microwave for 5 minutes. On the plus side, I think they removed the pie from the bill. I also found out that they charged a reservation fee, which I understand the reservation was for a lot of people, but we walked in and there was literally no one there. We probably could have gone there and gotten the table without a reservation. Additionally, they charged a $10 fee for "decorations" which included 10-15 half inflated balloons and a plastic table cloth. On a positive note, I learned that there is a company that sells videos of shadow dancers since they were displayed on almost every screen in the restaurant. Either way, I can think of 20 other places in Virginia Beach that have way better Filipino food with much better service. read more

It's clear to see info hasn't been updated on this. The Resturant has changed completely. It's now a filipino Mexican fusion restaurant. The new menu is very limited as there are under 15 items offered and none being a desert. Friday and Saturday it seems to be more of a night club, which management seems to enjoy more then the guest. The manager and owner seem to just hang out instead of seeing to the guest. Although this place does have a nice atmosphere the food menu isn't well thought out. $9 for a burrito and $6 for one taco is a little costly on the east coast. It looks like the menu was taken from a Resturant on the west coast, but prices not changed. The calamari while good was a small portion for $11. There are too many other place to go around the area that much more for your money. I wouldn't recommended wasting your time or money this place. read more

Not a bad place. Stopped in for a beer. I didn't get a chance to try the food so I can't speak on that. The beer was relatively priced but the the bartender was and rude and spent too much time on her phone. I also had to call her over every time I wanted a beer. Poor and slow service. My husband's band, Simple Blend played there last Saturday and the place treated them poorly. Not even a thanks nor did they accommodate them while they played. The place did not even want to pay them. We had to sell tickets and all 150 was sold out (with more people trying to buy tickets). 10 minutes before the band was going to take a 10 break I ordered 2 drinks, it never came until they were 2 songs in the second set. I spoke to 2 different waitresses, the manager, and owner and nothing. How can the band members sit and relax when you have poor service. The owner and manager did how can they drink if they are playing. I ordered 2 separate drinks and it took 30 mins. My friends drink was crown and coke... all she got was coke with a lime. How can 4 or 5 waitresses and 2 bartenders accommodate all 150 paid customers and the "free regulars" (non- ticketed). Poor planning with knowing the band packs the place.
