I've visited several times before and had a good experience, unfortunately this restaurant is going nowhere fast if their service continues to be abysmal. We arrived at 6 and were seated in the back, directly across from the flower wall backdrop. Only one other party of 4 was there when we arrived. I went to use the restroom and when I returned we gave our drink orders to a nice-nasty nonchalant waitress. If that's your attitude, you don't need to be serving. It took TWENTY MINUTES to get two drinks!! Why you ask? Because ALL of the wait staff is doing a bunch of nothing. I watched staff at the main bar on their cell phones heavily laughing and talking to each other. Beside the flower wall is an area in which the staff congregate by the kitchen.During the evening we watched at least 6 staff members at any given time eating, taking selfies, talking on their phone and smoking hookah all while ignoring tables that requested service (my table and the table beside me) We requested a coal change for the hookah from our waitress which after 40 minutes never came and we were told our reservation was up and we needed to leave. I mentioned that we never got our coal change and there was not even an acknowledgement or apology. These restaurants that charge automatic gratuity are typically known to have poor service since they have a built in tip they don't even attempt to give good service. The ambiance is amazing!!!! The music is a little to loud couldn't hear the people in my party sitting next to me. The AC was not working at all. The food was delicious there does seem to be a little disconnect between front of house and the Chef and kitchen associates. Our waitress was very polite and apologetic could see that she was definitely trying to provide a nice experience. The vibe is definitely on point for adults. This is a great date night / Girls' night out. The staff was very friendly, kind and just nice. Our waitress was sweet but not attentive. The food is awesome, but the menu could have more variety during the weekdays. I wasn't fond of the drinks, and they didn't have any beer. It was a little warm in the building, so they may need to work on that . I was surprise to see we were being charged $10 per person for entertainment that would be applied to our bill. Before I begin let me start off by saying that this review is based solely upon my personal experiences and my personal experiences alone,so with that being said let's go!. My wife and I were invited here for a birthday party brunch that started @ 12pm sharp! Now we all know some of the party will be kind of tarty! But that's neither here nor there. The waitress brought out ice water. Shortly afterwards the birthday girl walked in with some cupcakes, it was just the three of us until 12:45 and then people started rolling in. We started to order drinks and food. The drinks took a little longer than expected but the food came out promptly but we had to continuously ask for condiments for our food. I left a star off because the service was a little bit slow but the main reason was because my wife ordered a lemon drop martini and there was an eyelash floating in it!. Whew! Not worth it! Came from Richmond to celebrate my cousin for her birthday. We were an early reservation around 6pm on a Thursday. The host greeted us, asked if we had a reservation, clicked through the tablet for some moments and took us to our table. Her mood wasn't very inviting nor did she seem happy to be there. For early evening it was very dark which was weird considering there wasn't a lounge vibe at this point. Our server was Tee J who was personable, friendly and kind. Unfortunately, they did not set her up for success with us. Honestly, the service is extremely slow here because the kitchen and bar does not have a sense of urgency for sending your items out nor were they adequately prepared. Our server came back multiple times to tell us about items that weren't available causing us to have to constantly change our order. It would have been considerate for her to know at the beginning of her shift for us to have been notified upon greeting (that way we could decide to proceed or not). The food arrived to the table in multiple parts causing some to eat before others, partial parts of meals to be present (mains no sides/vice versus) and ultimately our food turning cold. We did not get to eat at the same time which was very off putting since we were here to dine together. We drove 90+ miles to dine... together. Now let's get into this food. I had high expectations from the descriptions, menu prices and reviews on social media. The food is not worth the price you pay. Honestly, it's mid! They could really give it a little more pride and TLC in what they do from a culinary perspective. The plate presentation was sloppy. Everyone cannot make Mac and cheese nor salmon nor Brussels sprouts nor egg rolls. Basically everything I ate was just okay. Nothing I'd brag about or come back to eat again. Oh! A major pet peeve... They served us plastic utensils. Your entrees are $30+ and plastic is appropriate? No. Elevated prices should yield an elevated experience for your guests at all times. We should not be eating on plastic cutlery, chipped plates and in the dark. I work in the hospitality industry and I just expect a certain level of care/pride in what is given when dining out. This was my first and last time coming here. Would not recommend to anyone. P.S. Loved our server though she deserves so much better in a work environment. I honestly felt sorry for her. This is one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to in the 757. The service was so bad my sister was in tears. This was her birthday brunch and it was completely ruined. We were seated and waited for 20 minutes before the waitress came and said she forgot she had a table. It went down hill from there. We watched her dance around and talk to people. Our food came and we had no utensils to eat with. After 20 minutes our waitress came out with sparklers and cake for another table to sing happy birthday. After we finished we waved her down she came to the table and yelled "i'm only one person!" and walked off. A guy later came to take care of us. This was my first time visiting this establishment as my friend had heard about it and wanted to go. I was not impressed at all. The decorum was nice and the setup however is very small on the inside making it difficult to maneuver around because the seating is so close together and tight. The food looked amazing even though we only had drinks despite the small portion sizes. The DJ booth was at patron level and I have been to a lot of clubs all over the world so this was different to see. Typically the DJ is in a booth that sits up higher than the crowd. The AC was not working at all and even though we did not have any food, a total of 5 drinks came to $85 plus an entertainment fee per person with gratuity included bringing our total bill to $110.46 for 2 people a lot of money just for drinks. How can you charge top-shelf prices when I named top-shelf liquor you didn't even have available? Why are you charging an entertainment fee when there was no live entertainment except the DJ? It was not like you had a celebrity there in person for entertainment. There is no VIP section of any kind and you have to make a reservation before you arrive unless you are sitting at the bar which was extremely overcrowded and tight. I did not like the smoking with the big hookah machines all over the place either. I felt like you should have a separate area for this by itself. Security missed the taser and mase in my Christian Dior bag as well when they checked us in at the door. The prices for food, drinks, entertainment, and gratuity are over the top and way excessive. I could have gone to Roger Brown's and had food with drinks for half of what I paid here. At this rate, you will not be in business long at all at these prices. I do my best to support black-owned businesses however per usual you all never cease to amaze me with your over-the-top prices and lack of amenities. The space is also too small, especially for the type of crowd you are looking to attract. I will not be returning this was the first and last time for me. The DJ was great he was playing the music, keeping the crowd hyped. Last but not least, your kitchen area was visible and should not be in an establishment such as this. If you need assistance hit me up I used to write grants and I am published with Congress and SBA. The picture guy was a nice touch but what would have been nicer is taking pictures while dancing and spinning on a camera with your logo to post to all of your social media pages. It is reservation only which is something I'm glad we knew so when we walked in we were immediately seated. We ordered the crab egg rolls and crab claws as an appetizer (5/5). DELICIOUS! The egg rolls were full of crab meat (not a bunch of filler) and the claws were perfectly seasoned and drowned in butter. For an entree, she ordered Lamb Chops and I got Tuscan Chicken. Lamb chops were very good. The sundried tomatoes on the Tuscan Chicken were a bit large and chewy (should've been cut up a bit smaller) which made the meal not as enjoyable. You have a high-cushioned seat aligned against the wall and then a smaller-vintage seat across from table. Kept the turntables pumping. Hookah is available for a charge of course. Peach flavor, the best! We met Scoot as our server and he was just a pure vibe! Loved everything about him! Small hiccup there being that I ordered no tomatoes(allergic) and received mines with them on there twice. Finally crossed that hill! Ordered the crab egg rolls next and trust when I say I don't even care for egg rolls, but trust me; try them. PERIODT! We decided to go to this restaurant last minute this evening. We're strategically being more intentional about where we spend our dollars and I've seen a few delectable pictures of various meals from this restaurant on the internet floating around. We ordered drinks, the stuffed shrimp & crab appetizer, jerk chicken tacos, lamb chops with spinach and mac & cheese. The decor was modern and on par with most of the newer restaurants in the area. Let me just say the food was definitely top notch and did what it came to do. The food presentation was 5 star and the overall flavor was slap yo momma delicious!! There was no additional seasoning required, period! I absolutely hate that I didn't take photos! Here's why I only gave a 4 star review. Our server was very laissez faire. She was very sporadic in following up with our table and towards the end of our dining experience -- we watched as she had a prolonged conversation with a customer who had been recently seated. She spent an exorbitant amount of time attempting to figure out who did this patron's BBL and comparing her body to hers! This customer was a "baddie" hands down but we wanted to pay our bill and leave! Here's where I'm going... because this establishment automatically includes an 18% gratuity -- there was no incentive to give us a stellar experience. My husband was mad but paid the bill and moved on. I believe the gratuity supports the wait staff, bus people and cooks, who are behind the scenes; so I see the need for it sometimes; to be automatically included. But the waitstaff are your "front line" to the customer and they can set the tone for a positive or negative dining experience. The bill was approximately $140 bucks for two people and the food was stellar; but the server was clearly not the owner; because she didn't care if we spent another $140 dollars there in the future or not. She didn't even so much as offer to give us a plastic bag for our takeout plates! This is what happens when the workers don't have a genuine interest in the success of your business and why places with strong potential like this one, don't tend to last. read more

The lighting sucked a bit by the neon sign but the staff was so sweet to get our pics right. Now baby the food, I order salmon with asparagus and mac n cheese.
