    Bahn mi fries
    Jen M.

I'm always down to try things related to bahn mi so when I heard there's bahn mi fries here I had to try it. Service was friendly; brats were great and came with many preset or customized meat and topping varieties; and bonus: this food truck is near the ferry, which is super convenient if you have some time to kill before leaving the island. Food wise, my friend got the classic brat with a local sauerkraut which he loved. He couldn't stop raving about how good the doughy pretzel bun was and how it made the brat so unique. I liked that you could either get a bahn mi brat or bahn mi fries with sliced brat - what I ultimately got and was not disappointed. Serving size was huge, ingredients were fresh and tasty and flavors complemented together well. After ordering, food was cooked to order and came out within 10 minutes. Yum. Will definitely return and recommend

For $7.25 plus tax you can have all this.

Very cool people and an interesting food truck. $7.25 for a basic hotdog is pretty crazy to me but I wanted to try out a new spot so I need to suck it up a bit. Tater tot meal that I ordered. Looks pretty good though.

Build a brat and the Thirsty Crab are the 1-2 punch that South Whidbey needed. Looking for a spot to bring friends and grab some tasty beer and extravagant bratwursts? Look no further. The outdoor seating of the Thirsty Crab combined with the wafting aromatics of Build a Brat are what make this place so perfect. My wife got the Seattle Dog, and I got the Reuben dog, both of which are such creative concoctions that would wow the tastebuds of any bratwurst connoisseur. Would definitely recommend the "Firecracker Sauerkraut" as well. The staff at both establishments are super friendly and give great suggestions! We will be coming back here a lot this summer!

    Chili dog!!! Great chili.

This is a great place to pick up a very-customizable brat or hotdog. And the people are so freakin' nice. My wife and I love coming here in the afternoon and having a beer or two, sitting in the shade or sun and eating a great brat served up by an awesome crew. The atmosphere is jovial with people all enjoying beer and such, sitting around a fire pit, or under the covered patio. What a great find on south Whidbey Island.

First thing, the location is tucked away so if you pull up and think it's not there anymore just park and walk into the little alcove/ally and it's right there. It is small but has tables set up outside to enjoy your dog and enjoy it you will! Hubs, little and I each got a 1/4 all beef dog some chips and a drink and everything was devoured- great flavor and perfect size for us we each decided on our own toppings (the spice house sauce is a must!!!) service was top notch, helped us with the menu and what the difference in sizing of the dogs were; all while keeping a lovely conversation going with us! We will definitely be back to try the chili dogs next!!! (They had sold out already so it's on the list for next time!!)

Unfortunately, I got sick later only because I have a dairy allergy and my husband watched the kid spread cream cheese on his bun (with some getting on his gloves) and then reaching in to the corn to grab a handful, so any of the toppings could have been contaminated if this is normal behavior. For 99% of people, this isn't a problem! (We were tired and he didn't think to mention it till this morning, well after we had eaten.) If you don't have food intolerances/allergies, please go eat a hot dog for me- wish I could go back, it was tasty and a great cheap dinner!

So, we were excited to find them at an event at Colello's over the weekend, where we were finally able to try one of their "dogs." We opted for the bratwurst, and while they were out of sauerkraut, even just with mustard, it was pretty good. The brat was cooked well. The bun perfectly toasted. And the mustard a wonderful blend of sweet and savory. Even better though, the owner and his family were absolutely delightful. We certainly look forward to visiting their location at the mall (even if we have to wait in line):)

This place is located in a mall type building and I was impressed with the setup and inviting atmosphere. We ordered waffle fries, northwest chili dog and harbor dog with bratwurst. They were both impressive, hard to find a decent hotdog spot in WA state that suits my pallet. I gave it a 4 star review due to the chili possibly being not made in house. It tastes like Nalley chili, but i have nothing against it. I think one who has chili dogs on the menu can possibly make a killer chili. Maybe it's house made? Not sure, i forgot to ask. Service was great. The person who took our order was nice and patient since it was our first time there.

Portions are tiny (think salad served on a teacup saucer), and they clearly cut corners on ingredients. Most dishes are bulked up with cheap fillers like rice, with barely any meat or vegetables. The names of the dishes have nothing to do with what is actually served. The food looks nothing like what you would get at any other restaurant. At best, it resembles something you might have been served in a Communist-era Budapest factory canteen in the 1980s. Owner does not take criticism well, I think she is tired and just gave up. Wake up: you will never bring the business back by cutting cost on ingredients and by serving lazy pre-cooked food. There is a market for good Hungarian food but you are just giving it a bad reputation, a disgrace.
