Solid breakfast joint. Loula's is my top choice for breakfast in Whitefish and I love the Boat Club as well. But Buffalo Cafe is in my top three Thick hashbrowns, yummy gravy, Secret Purple Dressing, Mimosas after 11(oarnge, grapefruit, pineapple, guava) are all highlights of brunch here for me. Breakfast is served til 2:30 (yes!). All of these bring this to 5 stars for me! Service is chill and and slower. People come here to visit and enjoy their time. Arrived on a Friday around 1030 and had a 20 minute wait. Ordered the biscuits and gravy with egg whites as well as the French toast. The biscuits and gravy was basically a plate of gravy with biscuits and eggs buried underneath it all. The hashbrowns were okay and lacked flavor, just like the gravy. The gravy was creamy but not as flavorful. When you cleared enough gravy you got to a very tasty biscuit the French toast was like a cinnamon roll bread and was very tasty. The syrup was so-so. OJ was good and the diet soda was okay. In all food was average - service is where I dropped a star. Never was asked for a refill or how the food was, and had to ask for the bill. It's been two months and I'm still talking about this place. Hands down one of the best omelettes and best oatmeal I've EVER had in my life. This gem of spot is nestled in downtown whitefish. It's an easy walk from the train station and WELL WORTH IT. I sat the counter had coffee (which was outstanding) and a small oatmeal. Made from scratch. Served with heavy cream and brown sugar. If you ask for the wifi code they will give you a paper with the code that says no camping. They are watching you, as soon as they see you finish your meal they will block or disconnect you to make sure you get out of bethere fast. My friends and husband were with me for our breakfast together. I found the great place on the Yelp. I read the reviews but we wonder how do the servers and business treat Deaf customers. We came in and gestured that we use sign language and counted us as a number. The nice hostess gestured back with a wait time. Once we got seated, the server, Isabelle, met us with a nice greeting. She smiled when we gestured that we are using sign language and pointing the menu. We used our phone for menu questions. She got our orders. We noticed that the environment is so friendly and cozy. We got orange juice, water, and coffee. My coffee was so good!! Not too strong. We loved how the mugs designed. If helps us feel welcome. During our chat, the servers brought our breakfast. The smell was so strong and delicious to make us drool. Please see the pictures. Due to my diet pescatarian and my husband doesn't eat red meat, our food was so perfect!! My friends commented that I picked a great place and a great server because she made sure we are fine twice. She wrote notes to ask us questions regarding checks and food. The other servers are great too for pouring coffee without judging us. Worth money and our time!! High recommended!! I gave a great tip for Isabelle too! Buffalo was a recommendation from the good folks at Grouse Mountain Lodge as "the best place for breakfast in town." While I can't speak to it being the best place in town, it was very good! I ordered Dow's Huevos and I was both pleased with the generous portions and quality if the food. I'm not typically a fan of flour tortillas with huevos, but this tortilla was crispy and delicious. The eggs, bacon and chorizo were cooked perfectly and the slickness of the chorizo didn't overpower the rest of the meal. It was served with sour cream and bottled salsa that complimented the meal nicely. While I didn't drink beer with my brunch, I was impressed by the number on tap beverages Buffalo offers. The establishment is family friendly and the service was balanced; not eager to be in my space but checked in frequently enough to make me feel like my needs were met. The ambiance is quaint and a bit dated, but I feel like it fits the town and the fare. It's inviting and non-threatening. Best of all, the locals like to eat here and I was seated next to a gentleman who told me about his life in Whitefish. I really appreciate the caretaking during covid. their staff are well equipped and really polite with gas to make sure that everyone was socially distancing and wearing masks. Kudos! I totally get backing off the salt a little to avoid being too egregious in the sodium department, but reasonable seasoning is a basic culinary tenet. The restaurant is cute, it's clean, and has some of the best breakfast food we've ever had. Try the Kansas City bacon. Both times I got the eggs Benedict, both times the hollandaise was phenomenal.
