Between solid reviews here on Yelp and a recommendation from a friend, my wife and I decided Three Forks Grille was worth giving a try on a rare date night out. We arrived shortly after six on a Monday evening, easily found parking and, while about half the tables were full, we were seated quickly. Our waiter was kind but seemed nervous, reading the specials from a note pad. We started with sourdough and an order of calamari (yes, I know there isn't fresh squid within a hundred miles, it's one of our "always order to see what's up" dishes). Bread came out quickly with olive oil, balsamic, and some minced garlic - quite nice. A few minutes later, calamari - lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and a bit bland. It felt like they'd perfectly executed their vision, but it could've used a bit more seasoning to my taste. No tarter or other sauce, but a half lemon and some pickled sweet peppers. I ordered the bison burger and my wife went with the walleye. My burger was medium rare, as ordered, but the bottom bun was soggy and everything was buried in the thinly sliced red onion. It was fine but sadly forgettable other than having to slurp slices of onion after each bite. My wife raved about her walleye though, basically describing it as elevated nostalgia. It took her back to days of fishing on the lake with her family as a girl, but perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. We finished with an espresso crème brûlée, which took about 20 minute after our meal to arrive. Apparently the chef was newer and accidentally put pistachios on the brûlée, as we got the last espresso and the next batch was pistachio flavored. We didn't mind, but it had the thickest crust I've ever seen on a brûlée - probably an eighth inch thick. It took two solid whacks to break through and was so thick it felt more like a burnt caramel. The crème itself was lovely but, as someone who prepared hundreds of brûlées in an earlier job and has eaten many since, it was sadly overshadowed by far too much sugar on top. It was an overall pleasant experience but honestly I owe much of that to the company of my wife. If we go back, the only thing we'd reorder is the sourdough to start. My wife loved her fish but still said she'd try something else next time. read more

The best part? The awesome staff member who greeted me at the door! Very kind and immediately got me seated with ice water and menus. Beautiful interior and nice feel! I had the Three Forks Burger with a GF bun and opted for coleslaw as the side. The slaw was terrible and I couldn't eat more than 2 bites- chewy larger pieces of purple cabbage and seemed like no other ingredients- maybe some oil and vinegar? The Berger was impossible to pick up and eat. The meat was good- but is was my mistake that I didn't catch that the cheese was Gorgonzola- which mixed with the garlic confit to create a mess that had melted and made a mess. Upon delivery of the food, I asked the server if he could bring me mayo. He walked away and never came back- just walked upstairs. I waited more than 6 minutes and finally asked another staff member who walked by if she could bring mayo, which she did. A few minutes after that, seriously 10 minutes after the burger had arrived,my server appeared with mayo.??? I wouldn't say this is not a good eating spot, as I only had a burger, but I can't give a high rating- my experience was only fair. read more

Best meal I had in Glacier area. it was a long wait but it wasnt bad, there are some tables outside. the hostess said there was no wait before 6pm, not sure if it applies to everyday but if you dont have a reservation and wants to eat early without wait, it's worth a try. I was seated upstairs, our waiter was super friendly and very patient to explain the dishes and recommend some good dishes for us to try. I had the pork chop which is one of the most popular dish here. Usually i dont go for pork chop but they cook really well and the sauce is very well done with sweet and savory taste to it. the bacon burrata appetizer was just ok, dont think they actually go together well. my partner had the bison fettuccine, its really flavorful with large chunks of bison and a lot of meat. read more

We arrived around 7pm on a Monday and our wait was 20 minutes. There were many more people waiting as we exited after our meal so be patient. It's worth it. We split a garden salad with the bread service to start. They split the salad for us which was great. The bread was served warm with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Very good. It I chose the trout which was amazing. It had a nice light spice on top and came with broccoli and polenta. It was so good. Very happy with my choice. Husband had the bison fettuccine. It was a huge portion and I had a couple of bites. Also very good. It had a nice rich taste. We decided to get dessert and opted for the crème brûlée. Perfect choice that wasn't too heavy after so much food. It was a lovely place with a loft, smaller bar, and lower level seating with high and low table options. Our server took our drink and appetizer order but our apps came out before our drinks. Oh my goodness, we were so excited for this meal. After a week of OK meals, we were ready for some fresh prepared food. Something with more of a farm to table vibe and we were not disappointed. I have zero pictures because we were so focused on the menu. We started with the prosciutto and Mellon appetizer, which was a little different than what I expected but delightful. We also shared the Caesar salad with trout, which was amazing. Between the three of us for dinner, we ordered the bison Bolognese, the trout and the risotto. We all got to try a little bit of everything and we're really pleased with the choice we made for dinner. I would definitely return. Went here on a whim looking for some nice fish after going to the glacier park and this place did not disappoint! We were going to go somewhere else for trout but this place caught our eye with its fresh fish and locally sourced produced. Thursday night no reservations for a party of 3 took about a 40 minute wait, which is totally okay because we didn't have a reservation and we walked around the town. The host, Lily, was super friendly and made sure to pronounce my name right! The small things especially being a minority visiting in a town out here was very nice and she got us seated with waters and we didn't have to wait any longer than the estimated time. Our server whose name I did not get checked in once and took our orders, but I overheard Erin tell the other tables the specials and he seemed like such a charismatic person! He kept our water refilled and was very friendly. I had to ask our server about the specials, but it was a busy night and I'm there for the food so all good! The food was SO yummy! I had the salmon special myself. It was a pan seared salmon with roasted vegetables and I believe it's a polenta cake that was so good. Well balanced and the fish was cooked perfectly. The sauce wasn't overwhelming on the fish and was very pleasant. I tried the salad which I thought had a nice summer brightness to it with the blueberry balsamic I think it was, and the trout from their regular menu was also cooked nicely, but I loved my salmon for sure and would recommend trying their fish dishes. Our server was very friendly, funny, and attentive even though he was busy with tables both up and downstairs. We got a Greek salad to start and my friend and I split it. It was pretty big. It came with a yogurt Greek dressing that was just ok. I got the trout for my entree. It was interesting and had lots of fancy additions like zucchini cakes, peach salsa of sorts. An establishment to match the "Crown of the Continent!" Only 1200 miles away from Home in Montana. The food in this local establishment in Columbia Falls was unbelievably delicious and the service was exceptional. The food was so delish that our family came back to eat here twice on our visit to Glacier National Park. We appreciated the hostess for sitting our party of 12 quickly on a busy Friday and Sunday evening. We were the last customers in the restaurant on both nights (large family) and they were very kind and attentive to us even after closing. This might be the best trout I've ever had. I believe it's sourced locally from Flathead Lake. The sauce on the fish is top-notch, and the broccoli has an incredible amount of flavor. It's a refreshing and light dish. The atmosphere is great, with paintings hung up and the restaurant feeling very clean. Service was also excellent. Well done! read more

This place was busy so we got a drink from the bar and sat out front under the umbrella for about 15 minutes. Ordered the calamari to start... crispy warm squid mixed with cool cucumber corn salsa. It was a unique dish, but not sure I'd order it again. Couldn't pass up the peach feta salad, and loved the dressing! Opted for the trout special, and really enjoyed the fish, broccoli, and slaw. Dinner with three fellow travelers during trip to Glacier National Park. I thought it would be a good idea to order fresh water fish, and was right. My Walleye consisted of large chunks of tender fresh fish, perfectly spiced and cooked. Delicious as it was, my wife's Grilled Lake Trout wit spinach and zucchini was even better. We traded substantial pieces and I agreed with her that it was the best tasting trout that we ever had. The bread was fresh and the service excellent. Back from a long day at Glacier, this place, even though they were about to close, really stepped up. The service and ambiance were maybe too casual for food this good, but that's only to say the food really hit the spot. Was looking forward to this meal coming to Glacier. Reading many great reviews. I guest my expectations were high but My whole group was disappointed with our meal. Even though it's off season, we still had to wait 30 mins at 6 pm. No reservations allowed- has to put your name on the list. Plus is they had some seating outdoors while you wait and can have a glass of wine. Our server is nice but a little bit slow getting our orders after they gave us water to start. We started with the calamari salad and fried avocado. The salad was great but the avocado is bland. We ordered the house special - with rainbow trout- ran out of halibut, the Berkshire pork chops, a vegetarian dish- stuffed zucchini squash, and walleye. The pork chop was the best dish. Has good flavors from the huckleberry. The rest of the dish was just ok. The fish dishes lacks acidity and taste, had to ask for extra lemon. The vegetables dish is ok, nothing spectacular. Yet wanted to review this place as we found them to be one of the best places we had food at while on our vacation in the area. We returned an evening later on a Monday and this time we had to wait for about half hour in the queue to be seated. One of the higher end restaurants in Columbia falls. We had the elk bite poppers, zucchini cakes and sweet potatoes pasta. All three were well prepared and somewhat unique. Wine list is solid. Yesterday my partner and I decided to pop in for a Friday night dinner. We arrived at 6pm and the restaurant was already packed. Willing to wait, we put our name down and was sat around 40 minutes later. We ordered the pork belly, steak salad, and two burgers. The pork belly and steak salad came out quick and were delicious. We then waited another hour for our two burgers. Our waitress was first attentive and super accommodating. As the restaurant got packed, was less so. I requested rare-medium rare knowing that often restaurants over cook burgers when they sit under lamps. I was not surprised when both burgers came out medium well to well done. We also were not given cutlery. We then waited another 15 minutes to simply send the burgers back. The kitchen remade the burgers and they were still barely medium rare. The wagyu burger Gorgonzola was mushy and cold and honestly super disappointing. It's moments like these where I am reminded that when it comes to burgers and steak, you might as well as make it at home instead of spending money for a kitchen that takes two hours to make two over cooked burgers. The manager gave us a kind discount to remediate the situation which was some consolidation. By the time we got the check it was near 9pm. If you plan to go, I'd recommend to stick with the starters and avoid ordering any burgers/steak since the kitchen's temperature control is dodgy at best. read more

I am taking one star off because they charge for bread and butter, and they keep offering it to you and don't tell you that there is a charge. I don't mind paying for the bread especially because it's amazing bread, and it's not that expensive, but I feel like that's a little deceiving. Our server was very cute and attentive and made fantastic recommendations. We went here based on reviews. We are not locals. This was a mistake as this was one of the most disappointing meals of all time. After a long day exploring the beauty and wonder of Glacier National Park, what's better than a delicious meal before continuing the road trip? Hubby and I found a parking spot in the shade on the street around 7 pm and were greeted by a super friendly hostess who quickly sat us at the bar (currently no reservations or take-out, FYI). I ordered wine, and he decided to try the habanero cider, which definitely has a kick but is delicious. We were delighted to learn that the chef has prepared a Gluten-Free Menu, so we ordered a couple of yummy appetizers: Asian-style calamari (beautifully fried rings with a couple of tentacle pieces on a bed of lettuce) plus the lamb-"stuffed" peppers (tender lamb with feta and a green salsa atop fire-roasted Anaheim peppers). Both were amazing. For the mains, I was craving a bison burger and our bartender recommended fries on the side in lieu of slaw. Hubby got the Asian-style shrimp risotto, which I was excited to try because 1) I've never had risotto made with coconut cream, and 2) I LOVE the flavor and crunch of bok choy. My burger and fries were very tasty; the cheese-onion toppings are melted on the patty, so no fillings are falling out of the burger making a mess, thankfully. If I had it to do again, I'd probably spring for the slaw plus fries. Hubby enjoyed his risotto but we couldn't seem to find any bok choy. The few greens we saw looked and tasted more like wilted spinach. That was a bummer for me, but he didn't seem to mind. For dessert (breakfast the next day), I ordered the lemon-olive-oil pound cake with berry topping. Top-notch service and fair prices all around. Definitely recommend! read more

We tried to order meals to go tonight, they never picked up the phone, went straight to vm from 5pm to 5:300pm so my husbaand drove over to place a take out order and was advised it would mess up the kitchen. All they had to do is put the order in togo containers which we know they have because we have taken our leftovers before.
