Had a great experience for dinner! Very accommodating for our large party of 20. Excellent service and our waitress was so sweet. A bunch of us had the wild game bolognese and loved it. The pappardelle was so fresh and soft and there was the perfect ratio of pasta to meat. I really loved it, and it didn't taste too game-y at all. The s'mores cheesecake was great, although by this point we were nearing the third hour of the meal and I was quite honestly half asleep. My cousins had the huckleberry crème brûle and pointed out that there were actually blueberries on it, not huckleberries. Others were slightly disappointed by the trout. But hey, I had a great experience so thumbs up from me! P.S. highly recommend checking out the bathroom, the sitting room had 360 degree mirrors and it was totally disorienting, but in the best way possible. Had an incredible celebratory dinner here after my husband and I got engaged. The staff set us up with a table to celebrate right by the fire with a custom mocktail for us (I don't drink) and a bottle of NA prosecco. The staff also all signed a card for us. It was so sweet and everyone (Kyle and Kaylee especially) made our celebration that much better. The food was also great. Three at our table, got the game burgers, which everyone loved. I got the wild game bolognaise which was delicious. We also really liked the smoked fish dip and grilled artichokes. Great staff, delicious food and we will definitely be back here to re-celebrate on our next trip to Montana! read more

It's a little hard to find. No signs, I just wandered into the lodge lobby and looked around and then I saw the coffee bar so knew I was in the right place. Eventually found it and checked in with the hostess who sat me immediately Service was mixed, waitress came over right away with water and took my drink order. I asked for the house old fashioned. She brought the drink quickly, l imagine they're premixed. I ordered the onion soup and the pork chop with jasmine rice and chef's vegetables. Then I waited, and waited. 27 minutes for the soup. I know they bake onion soup and all but it took forever to get it. It was delicious though so whatever. Nice and beefy and sweet. Lots of onions and gooey cheese Pork chop was tasty as well. Porterhouse cut and came with a huckleberry sauce that was delightful Rice was good, but I'm not sure what the chef's vegetable was, a stalk with some leaves? After reading some reviews seems that this place may have some off days, but the last two days both dinner service and breakfast service were spot on. The service staff was incredible and the food was delicious. We tried during the dinner service the trout and the ribeye both were outstanding. For breakfast, we tried their buckwheat pancakes and egg sandwich. Both were delicious. If you are staying at the hotel I would absolutely recommend dining in. My husband planned a date last night, and this was the lucky place to spend our wonderful evening. We had never been here before.Made a reservation just incase, but it was not overwhelming busy. The environment was nice and the staff were welcoming and great. The music was fun also. We ordered the Mini Beef Wellington, 12 Oz Ribeye, Smothered Chicken, and Creme Brulee. All looked and tasted wonderful. Not overly spiced/seasoned but bursted with attractive flavors. I will say, that was the best chicken I've ever had. With the potatoes and carrots, yum! This place has gone down hill in the past year. Boring beers, boring menu, problems with each course. Seriously, we only went here because we needed some place quiet in the height of the summer tourist season. I never order a sandwich for dinner, but was reduced to ordering a French Dip. I also got an appetizer of salmon dip. Very few crustini, mostly fresh veggies (which were mysteries in a couple cases as to what exactly they were, but the server was clueless), but the "dip" wasn't a dip, more of a spread, without a hint of salmon flavor. More like an faintly-herbed cream cheese. The French Dip was mostly bread. I'd be surprised if there was three ounces of meat. My husband was looking forward to the bone marrow bread pudding. They were out of it. The burger he got (he never orders burgers, either) was almost lost in the bread. He also didn't order a beer. Unheard of. But they were crazy about IPA's (aren't we done with IPA's?) and lagers. My drink, a Fireweed Old Fashioned, was far too sweet, it needed ice or at least some seltzer, but certainly didn't lack for liquor. Still, way too sweet. For dessert we ordered the chocolate torte with Creme Anglaise. I kept thinking it needed to be cut with whipped cream or something and only belatedly realized the Creme Anglaise was totally missing. The service was slow and clueless. She had no familiarity with the menu, couldn't enlighten us about anything. When we complained about the missing Creme Anglaise, some guy insisted on talking to us about it, but no offer of a discount, presumably because we ate it and didn't say anything about it until we were finished. Well, we were commenting on the lack of a balance while we ate, that's for sure, we just blanked on why until the end. We won't be back for quite a while. The ONLY reason to go here is the tables are well spaced. You can actually talk to each other. Hard to find that in the summer, but it's not going to justify a return for a long long time. read more

I am a bit taken aback by the reviews for Logan's! I genuinely found the food to be excellent and the service very friendly. We were staying at the lodge and were exhausted after a long day of hiking. So glad that we could just enjoy a meal in the lobby of the hotel. We made reservations and were seated quickly upon arrival. I ordered the black cod and for starters, marveled at just how beautiful the presentation was! The fish was flakey and cooked just perfectly. It was served over the most divine sun dried tomato risotto along with asparagus. It all tasted amazing but I'll be dreaming about that risotto for months to come. My friend was really craving salmon and the chef prepared her a beautiful plate of items not even listed on the menu. She was delighted that they were able to be so accommodating. I not sure that anything could have been better. Clearly there is a staff shortage, but the servers managed well despite this and I recount nothing but a great experience. Definitely give Logan's a try. Especially if you are staying onsite. read more

Visiting Whitefish MT and Glacier National Park and decided to try Logan's for dinner. Plenty of parking with the lodge, restaurant, and golf course nearby. The restaurant is inside the lodge, and is decorated and looks just like a lodge in MT would look like to me. Stuffed animals on the walls and a giant chandelier in the lobby. We decided to dine on the patio. It was nicely shaded, and there was a nice cool breeze. Kyle was our server and he was fantastic. He was honest, refreshing, knew his stuff, was fast to take our order, check on us, refill, bring the food, clear plates, etc. He engaged us with some friendly stories about Glacier Natl Park and Yellowstone Natl park too. The service was excellent and so was the food. We tried the charcuterie board which had a selection of meats, cheeses, fruits, nuts, spreads, and other items. A nice little treat before dinner. I also tried the Caesar salad, it was pretty good, everything you would expect from a Caesar salad. For my main course I decided to try the duck, but I swapped the Risotto that came with it for a different Risotto on another menu item. I went with the sun dried tomato Risotto and it was great. The duck was cooked nicely, tasted wonderful, and the Asparagus was fresh and crispy. A very nice plate of food. We also tried the huckleberry ice cream, which is 3 large scoops, and the crème Brule. Both were delightful, hit the spot. That ice cream was smooth and creamy, definitely rich and flavorful. The manager came out to check on us, which is a nice touch. We ordered the tenderloin, ribeye, kids grilled chicken, and split one of the salads. The tenderloin was one of the best meals I have ever had in my entire life. The ribeye was delicious and full of flavor. The salad was average and my daughter inhaled her chicken in two minutes. Service was great. We will be back for sure. read more

Staff was terribly rude. If you are a hotel guest, be sure to make a reservation. They will not seat you without one. Even if you flight is delayed on Christmas Eve, no other restaurants are available, they have open seats, are still serving food and it's more than 1 hour until closing time, they won't seat you nor allow you to order take out. My husband even popped in while I was checking us in and asked what time they were open until tonight, and the hostess said "9 pm". It was currently 8:10 pm. We walked over at 8:21 pm after checking in and asked to be seated, but she refused. We asked to order take out and she refused. Why say you're open until 9pm without caveating that you aren't taking anymore tables or orders? Definitely not a holiday spirited outfit nor cares about ensuring guests have food to eat. read more

The food was awful. Food was charred; french fries were hard and the broccoli was burnt and oversalted. Last time I went there for tacos I got food poisoning. I was willing to give it another chance. McDonalds would be a better choice. While our waitress was very nice, and made an effort, the staff was unavailable and had to be tracked down. Restaurant wasn't even crowded. We arrived at the Grouse Mountain Lodge after a flight from Phoenix to Spokane and a scenic drive to Whitefish Montana. We had a few snacks on the way but were ready for a good meal at Logan's Bar and Grill. Sadly we were disappointed. My wife's pasta dish with mushrooms was flavorless and the pasta was a combination al dente and undercooked. When she asked for more sauce she was brought Parmesan cheese and basil that were actually micro greens. Her Huckleberry Moscow Mule was too sweet and tasted like cough syrup. Our after dinner Irish coffee variation was served lukewarm. Waitress was friendly and did her best. They definitely need to work on quality control. read more

What a fiasco of an evening. We had a reservation for 6:30 pm there was no one to seat us right away, then a man asked us if we had a reservation we gave him our name. Later we got an email that we did not show for our reservations. He said to sit wherever we would like. None of the tables were set up. Our waitress took our drink order. I ordered a Cosmo grey goose vodka, lime and pail pink and I told her I had an allergy to sweet and sour. The drink came back looking like dark red syrup and could smell the sweet and sour, Instead of bothering her again I talked nicely to the woman bar tender, she told me she used sweet and sour, and that the way I asked for it was not appropriate and that was not how you make a Cosmo! We orders an appetizer and dinner all at once, an hour and a half into the wait now 8pm we still did not have our appetizer. Other tables had come in after us and were done eating their meals. The young female waitress was no where to be found. We told the manager about the situation then the waitress came out with our appetizer but we had already decided to leave she had an attitude a told us we had to pay for the drinks and the bread she brought to tide us over which we did not order. The Cosmo was not drinkable and we never got our food. Horrible service from our waitress. We will not be going back! Not recommended. read more

Food is good - BUT they are struggling to staff servers - which impacting both how many hours they are open (Eg Grouse Mountain Lodge is a food desert from 10:30am - 4pm due to Logan's opening at 4pm daily). When Logan's is open, (only 4pm-8pm) they only have a couple servers so they don't seat all the tables. This is extremely difficult when staying on property with children. Staying at Grouse 7nights, we found ourselves forced to dine off property in Whitefish all but 1 night. read more

Went for easter brunch today and had an awesome meal. Did the benedict with coffee and half a cesar, the food was great. The highlight of the meal though had to be the waiter. I believe his name was Benjamin; he was charming and funny and really added to our dining experience. He told us he plays music in town as well, so hopefully we can see him play when we come back! Went here tonight. Had kiddos with us. It was amazing! Food was super good. Husband had the chicken piccata. It was soooo good! I had the Tom yum with chicken and it was super heathy and good. Made reservations for dinner here during our vacation. Lots of seating on a Saturday night, surprisingly slow. We waited 12 minutes before anyone acknowledged us after being seated just to get water and silverware. Our server was standing with other staff by the bar watching a soccer game about 2 tables away. Really surprising service demeanor at a restaurant of this level. Food was amazing which is the only part of the experience that was 5 out of 5 stars. My husband had duck breast with parmesean risotto and it was one of the best meals we had on our trip. After leaving we went to the lobby where we took a picture. Front desk staff offered to take it for us but first I had to pick up and move a bag of garbage that was leaking all over the ground. Ok...Where do I start. I had my wedding reception at Logan's and the guests were blown away. On the menu was the bison meatloaf, trout, elk penne, and smoked chicken. I have always thought that food was the #1 priority in any good wedding, and Lord have mercy--Logan's stepped up to the plate. Now...I'm also a believer that restaurant step up their game for large parties and don't show up for the regular dinner-for-twos. So what did I do? I went to Logan's for a pre-wedding meal...And thought I had died and gone to food heaven. I ended up going back for breakfast, lunch or dinner eight--yes, count it, EIGHT--times in five days. I'm obsessed. I live in Texas, which is probably a good thing, considering my wallet and my waistline couldn't afford that kind of habitual grazing. The service at Logan's is amazing. We had our wedding dinner in the Wine Room at Logan's Bar & Grill this past Friday. It was absolutely incredible and flawless, we are so appreciative. The food was amazing, every single one of our guests are still raving about it. Karen was so easy to work with and so responsive to emails and phone calls. Tresha and Sarah were not only so sweet and friendly, but so attentive and responsive during our dinner. They took great care of our party the entire time, they were on top of everything, organized, etc. (I could go on and on!) The room was set up beautifully, everything was just perfect. As far as the food, i got the salmon entree with wild rice and chefs choice of vegetables. The vegetables were less than impressive and not cooked properly - but everything else was amazing. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich with fries and loved the sandwich, but the fries were too salty. First off, there are some things to note: Drink specials do NOT carry over to the dinner side of this place. The dinner that starts at 5:00 is 2-3 times as much as the regular grill, but you can just get the regular grill on the dinner side. Both of these things should be made a lot clearer, which is why I removed 1 star. As for drinks, the prices are good during happy hour, and average otherwise. We did not try their fancier dinner dishes, but the grill food was all excellent and well priced. We especially liked the fresh horseradish and well-balanced flavours in the sandwiches. Overall, good but a couple of quirks that should be made more clear. read more

My wife and I had dinner and breakfast here and we were disappointed with both meals. For dinner we both ordered fish. Montana is in the middle of the continent, so you could criticize us for ordering seafood there. However, they do have great local wild-caught fish available from the nearby Blackfeet reservation, so it is a shame that this restaurant prepares fish poorly. Both of our fish entrees were overcooked and dry. The service was slow also. Twenty minutes after our waitress took our drink order I got up to ask why we didn't have wine or bread, yet. Then our waitress showed up right away with bread and a generous serving of wine. We had quiche for breakfast, and the quiche was good. We had a long wait for it, though, and we had an appointment to get to. It was our fault that we didn't tell our waitress about our time constraint. Still, our waitress made the excuse that they had to bake our quiche, even though our servings were slices cut from a larger pie, so we were not convinced. She did very kindly box up the quiche so that we could take it with us, and it was tasty. So the service was slow, the kitchen was slow, the quality of the food was uneven, and there are several good cafes and restaurants a 5-minute drive away in downtown Whitefish. read more

I live within walking distance of Grouse Mountain Lodge and eat there at breakfast twice a week with two separate men's group. The food is always good. The service we get from Mary is beyond good - it is fabulous. She's such a joy to see, always smiling and always cheerful. See's a gem. Keep her!
