It's hard to beat Buca di Beppo for group dining. The portions are huge, and everybody enjoys the food. We recently celebrated a graduation at this location, and got lucky enough to get the Pope room. Besides being a very unique place to eat, we really appreciated being at a round table in a quieter room where we could all see and hear each other. The Lazy Susan in the middle of the table made it very easy to share the food. My favorite was the salmon, which was very tasty. It was a perfect evening.

Food was great and the service was amazing from our waitress Daniela and from the waiter Lugo. Daniela was constantly attentive to our need and we never went more than 7 minutes without being checked on.

That family style wow! That's Amore :) Buca di Beppo is a cool chain Italian Restaurant with locations all over the U.S. and more than several in SoCal alone. I've enjoy Buca in Encino, at Universal CityWalk Hollywood, Las Vegas and now in Old Pasadena. Located at the corner of De Lacey Avenue/Green Street BdB - Pasadena is in a great location with street (meter), paid lot or garage parking available. Also only a 10 minute walk from Memorial Park Station. I've strolled by this iconica Italian eatery many times over the years, but have yet to have a full sit down experience with incredible service until recently. We came to celebrate my friend Troy's birthday as a party of 7. We had a great server and some of the best Sangria I've ever had at a Buca. At Buca you can have your fill of Appetizers, Buca Specials, Desserts, Entrees, Lunch Combo (Specials), Pastas, Pizzas, Sides and all the good Beverages. Family friendly with a kids menu also. For eats on the night of Troyica table had the Lasagna, Garlic Bread and the Shrimp Scampi (Linguine). The birthday boy was very happy with the feast and my boyfriend loved all the food. This guy (myself) had a small Mixed Green Salad that was iconic and let me tell you the small is still a very big portion. With great Italian dressing and some of the best veggies. I did consider the Spaghetti Marinara, but with family style portions I wouldn't have been able to finish something meant for many people. Had our fellow veggie friend joined us, the two of us could've taken it on with a shared small salad. Food for next time for sure, more so with awesome bundle deals like their Buca Bundle - Lasagna or Pasta, Salad and Bread for only $40. What a deal!! It says you're only able to do the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, which I'm sure is fine for people who can enjoy it. Not sure if the Spaghetti Marinara can be an option since it doesn't list it, but would love to do that if Buca would allow it like their Green Beans #ShareableSides Grateful for the few vegan friendly dishes they do have. Loads of vegetarian things by default. I believe they also have a Gluten-Friendly menu. Lots of great rooms, hallways, bar away and even the restrooms are well kept up. The did forget about my simple little awesome green salad initially so I had to wait after everyone was already eating for a good 15 to 20 minutes - I know it was an honest mistake. Our server apologized more than once to me - I just didn't want to keep sangria-ing without dinner lol. Love the Skeleton guy at their bar, great art, pictures and culture Buca brings. Very welcoming of everyone.

The menu can seem a little intimidating and pricey at first, but once the waitress explains that everything is served family style, it makes a lot more sense. What you order is meant to serve about three to four people, and they really mean that. We ordered one main dish along with garlic bread and a couple appetizers.. it was honestly more than enough for the three of us. The vibe of this place feels very old-school. The food genuinely tastes amazing, and considering the portions, the price is actually pretty reasonable. Our waitress was just okay.. nothing bad, but nothing particularly warm/kind either. Overall this is a really cool place to visit. The inside is super fun and covered in photos and decorations. You'll constantly find yourself looking around at all the stuff on the walls.

Thanks Amber for the great service!!!! Our first time to be in this location, and so happy to see this restaurant along other popular stalls along Green Street. Great food of course. Love the hospitality of the camera person- " The Queen"! She's excellent! Just one comment about the waitstaff that was cleaning the trash in the bathroom, I told her one of the stalls doesn't have tissue roll- totally ignored me. I told her again, but just left the bathroom with the trash she collected. No acknowledgement or anything, and you can tell she's annoyed. While others try to strive good customer service, there is one person that's not appreciative of her job. Lots of parking around. Great location. 2-1-2026

Penne alla Vodka with Chicken

Buca di Beppo is my favorite pasta spot in LA! They make the BEST spicy vodka penne (I usually add chicken to it)!! It's such a big portion since it's a family style restaurant. Enough to fill up both my boyfriend and me. They usually serve complimentary bread with vinegar and olive oil, too! Service is always wonderful. The workers are checking in on tables consistently and are very accommodating with requests. Reservations are available as well, which makes it convenient. Street parking and garage parking is available nearby. If I lived closer, I would go to Buca di Beppo once a week!! Highly recommend!

We love Victoria our server!!! She was so attentive and refilled our drinks without being asked, made sure the food was tasting good and continued to check up on us throughout the dinner! It was my birthday and she made the experience 100x better! LOVE U VICCC

It is the painting in the ceiling that reminds me of Rome.

The only thing I feel like is missing is maybe some garnish cause the plate feels a little incomplete when it's just poured straight out of the pan and placed in-front of us. They have a pretty decent menu and I also really like that they have a taste by menu option for two so you can try more pastas. I tried the Cheese and Truffle tasting menu with the Tagliatelle in Truffle Sauce, Pomodoro, and Cacio e Pepe and because the Tagliatelle is so good I feel like it sets the other two up for failure. I think it would work better if the order that it is serve was reversed. I ended up not finishing the other two usually just because I'm a little disappointed after the big wow from the tagliatelle. For the tiramisu, I think it needs an adjustment in plating as well since all the coffee is pooled on the bottom which leaves the top feeling kinda dry and not having enough coffee flavor. I was feeling pretty disappointed and it was only til I got to the coffee that I was like oh this can taste good. The staff is very kind and friendly and are also helpful when asking for recommendations. I also like the open kitchen concept and it's fun watching how each pasta dish is prepared.

An Amazing Dining Experience at Marina!…read more My husband and I had a wonderful experience dining at Marina in Pasadena! From the delicious food to the outstanding hospitality, everything made our visit special. The branzino was delicious, and the prosciutto was excellent. You can really appreciate the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into the food. One thing that stood out to us was meeting the owner, who personally checked in with guests to make sure everyone was enjoying their experience. He also shared that he sources his produce from the local farmers market, which I absolutely love! Supporting local farmers and giving back to the community makes a restaurant even more special. A special shout-out to Danny, the bartender, who made me his signature cocktail featuring an imported Italian liqueur. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more memorable! It's always refreshing to find a restaurant that combines great food, quality ingredients, personal service, and a genuine connection to the local community. Marina is definitely worth a visit, and we look forward to coming back! If you're in Pasadena looking for a great dining experience, I highly recommend stopping by. Five stars all around!

The place was not crowded, but was full. We had reservations, so we sat down immediately. When we sat down, the waiter also gave us a pole with hooks on top and placed it next to our table. Find out this is to hang a purse, jacket, or anything. This was my first time seeing this. Pretty cool! We were given the menu and ordered what you Yelpers trended the most. We ordered the following: Old Fashioned - This was great drink. Nice and balanced. Not too sweet. 8/10 Espresso Martini - This came out a bit too sweet to our liking and didn't have a "strong" espresso aroma to it. 5/10 Burrata & Heirloom Tomato Panzanella - This was really good! The burrata was nice and creamy, tomatoes were sweet and juicy, all with the gazpacho complementing all of it. This was the takeaway of the meal! 9/10 Grilled Octopus - Out of all the grilled octopuses I had recently, this one is my favorite. The octopus was not too chewy and was tender. The seasoning was salty with a hint of sour. 8./10 Rabbit Bolognese - this was good, but I didn't think it was amazing. Could not tell it was rabbit. It was still good, but just expected more from the hyped review on Yelp :) 7/10 Truffle Cavatelli - This was also good. Lots of black truffle shavings! Strong truffle flavor. Unfortunately, if this is the only thing you are eating, this dish does get bland, so you will need something that will complement or change up the palette. The dish is 8/10, but won't hold up by itself long. Pistachio Tiramisu - This was good! Not too sweet, and the pistachio flavor was a nice change to the traditional chocolate/coffee flavor 6/10 We will definitely be coming back here. But next time, we will get what we were curious about as we dined here. The Spicy Shrimp alla Vodka came highly recommended by our waiter, and Branzino alla Griglia looked amazing when our neighboring table got it

They also make sure to stress that dishes don't arrive together. It's mainly a pasta restaurant, why can't the kitchen push out pasta orders together? The first time we were there one of our three pasta dishes was literally ten minutes behind the other two. The most recent visit the restaurant was not full so the dishes largely came together but the pastas were sent before al dente. The soppresini wasn't al dente, it just wasn't fully cooked. The flavors of the dishes are really good but the execution is sub par. One of the folks at our table mentioned it was their birthday so without us asking they brought a scoop of ice cream with a candle which we thought was really nice of them. Then the bill came and we saw that they proceeded to put it on the bill for $6. Didn't want to make a scene but this is beyond tacky and overall I can say we won't be returning here anytime soon.

Not only do we have to chaperone the visiting friends to tourist hot spots that we generally avoid in everyday life; but even the restaurants we choose as dining options need to be positioned on a perfect pedestal that impresses but is still comfortable. A very close friend of mine from Nashville visits the City of Angels once a year; and I always feel the stress to impress in regards to dining. In 2026, we decided on a more casual dinner than our usual upscale entertainments and opted for Pasadena. Of course, I turned to Yelp and that is how I discovered Café Santorini. Café Santorini has been a favorite dining option in the Old Pasadena neighborhood of Pasadena since 1993 on the intersection of West Union and De Lacey (a block from Colorado Blvd) nestled in one of the famous historic red-brick buildings with alley alcoves that makes Old Pasadena so beloved. Café Santorini encapsulates European love that is as warm as its bricks uniting the culinary richness of Italy, Greece and Morocco in semi-upscale/trendy real estate with iron railings, high ceilings, exposed brickwork, duct beams and glossy wood surfaces that is both inviting and will absolutely entice tourists and residents, alike. Whether seeking indoor dining bar-adjacent with tables or booths or the lovely outdoor second-floor patio alcove overlooking the plant-filled alleys below; Café Santorini is quite pleasant on the eyes. My Nashville-based friend and I made a reservation for an early dinner at 4pm on a Saturday and Café Santorini was already filled to the gills and bustling with activity (granted, there was a Guns n Roses concert at the nearby Rose Bowl in the evening). Opting to sit outdoors due to the loud volume in the dining room; we had a perfect ratio of casual and date-worthy. Café Santorini is seamless with its 'vibe'. To begin the evening, we opted for some cocktails with a Smoke and Citrus Paloma (grapefruit and lime juice, smoked sea salt agave syrup and soda water, alcohol free at $12 but I made it alcoholic with mezcal) for me while my friend ordered a traditional margarita on the rocks (no salt) as we gazed the menu and also decided on sharing a Grape Leaves appetizer (rice, herbs, tomato paste - $16). If you are Celiac like myself and need gluten-free options, Café Santorini is AMAZING in its GF options (also dairy free and vegan dishes) with more choices than usual competitor restaurants which that alone makes it stand out from the crowd. Our drinks arrived in classy and colorful derivations with my paloma holding a seducing orange hue akin to a setting California sun with dried rosemary and dried fruit with the margarita being perfectly yellow-ish green with a dried lime. My paloma was delicious with an ideal combination of sweet to alcohol and smoke with the margarita being refreshing and tangy. I am quite picky with grape leaves having friends from the Middle East living in the US but Café Santorini's grape leaves (5 pieces) are delicious both in texture and flavor without being too bitter which is sometimes the case. For dinner I chose the Branzino (Grilled Mediterranean sea bass, lemon Greek potatoes, dill, capers- $42) while my friend wasn't super famished and decided on Greek Salad Horiatiki (Valdivia Farms tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, Anaheim peppers, red onions, Kalamata olives, feta cheese, lemon juice - $17). One of my favorite details of Café Santorini is their capacity to present elegant dishes that are still simple and not pretentious on plateware that encompasses Greece itself with colorful mosaic prints and painted motifs. The ingredients are fresh, colorful and artfully displayed. My Branzino was faultless: grilled perfectly with charred grill marks and crispy skin (large filet) with capers and fresh dill with fingerling potatoes based under the fish soaking up the lemon juices. Delightful! The Greek Salad Horiatiki allowed the garden-fresh veggies to truly shine even with the lemon juice/oil and large piece of feta making it a perfect summer option. Service at Café Santorini is friendly and a family-like atmosphere with every staff member acknowledging you as you saunter by, answering all questions and constantly smiling. Café Santorini is an overall pleasant joy of an experience. Whether you need to impress out-of-state friends or simply seeking Mediterranean fare in Old Pasadena; Café Santorini is a musty-try for a casual meets elegance dining experience.

The food was a complete disaster. Somehow it managed to arrive looking tired, tasting worse, and costing enough to make me question every decision that led me through the front door. I've had gas-station food prepared with more care. Then there was the bus boy. I'm still trying to figure out how someone whose job is supposed to help keep the dining room running smoothly managed to make the experience even more uncomfortable. The attitude was unbelievable. Apparently basic courtesy was not included with the meal. But the real highlight was the owner. You'd think someone who owns a restaurant would understand that hospitality involves actually caring about the people spending money in the establishment. Instead, the attitude was dismissive and completely uninterested in making a bad situation better. If this is how the owner handles unhappy customers, the rest of the experience suddenly makes perfect sense. And then they brought the bill. That was probably the funniest part of the evening. The prices belonged to a restaurant offering an exceptional dining experience. Unfortunately, nobody told the food, the bus boy, or the owner. I came in expecting dinner. I left feeling like I had paid admission to an expensive lesson about where never to eat again. Save your money. Save your appetite. Most importantly, save yourself the aggravation. I wouldn't come back if the meal were free.
