Why 5 stars? Especially when there are delicious restaurants that are 3 and 4 stars... well you have to think it context of what type of business you are visiting. Buc-ee's at its core is a gas station with a convenience store. But it is really so much more, because it is executed so well. Roadside rest stops with snacks and gas aren't ever a destination, but Buc-ee's is. It has so many gas pumps, an amazing selection of snacks and freshly made quick bite food, and local souvenirs and goods. I am not from an area that has them so I first heard about them as a business case example at a conference, I was intrigued. The worst part about being on a long car ride or road trip is questionable bathrooms. Buc-ee's is know for for having super clean bathrooms. That coupled with the shopping that lets you stretch your legs and keep entertained, all the great snacks that go way beyond Doritos and slim Jim's make for a really pleasant experience while stopping for gas. The wide array of merch was my favorite and it was a wonderland of fun things. I MAY have left with a Buc-ee's tumbler .... And maybe pajama bottoms .... And a bandana for my dog. Bucees is a MUST when in Texas. You can not go to Texas without making a stop at one of their locations. You can literally spend hours here. There is soo much to look at and so much to buy. The bathrooms are huge and they are one of the cleanest gas station bathrooms I have ever been in. You get your own private stall that is equipped with it's own hand sanitizer. The store is fun and cute. The beaver logo is everywhere. On trinkets, toys, drinks, snacks, cookies, hot food, you name it. The hot food selection is great. My go to is the brisket sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, and I always get the sugared pecans. They are the best! The inside is clean and fully stocked and there are friendly employees everywhere. Is it a gas station? Is it a grocery store? Is it a destination? The answer to all of these questions is a resounding "yes"! Buc-ee's stays true to the mantra that everything's bigger in Texas and anyone who lives here will defend it as one of their local treasures. It's a beloved landmark known by all and visited by everyone at least occasionally. I joined the followers last night when I made my maiden voyage to the nearest location in Denton. There are gas pumps as far as the eye can see, a 12-minute long car wash-including vacuums and a bronze statue of the famous Beaver-all before you even enter the store! When you make your way inside, you might want to grab a basket, or a shopping cart, to carry your discoveries. Sure, you'll find candy, soda and snacks-just like any other gas station. But you can also get fresh cooked barbeque sandwiches, fresh pastries, home décor, and apparel. This is a great place to pick up souvenirs, which is exactly what some of my colleagues and I did. The best thing about Buc-ees is that it's clean. Like eat-off-the-floor clean. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and eager to assist. They also seem proud of their employer and are happy to see the joy that it brings to people. I learned that Colorado will be getting their own Buc-ee's in a couple of years. We were driving by I decided to stop by. This place is the biggest gas station I have ever been to in my life. There was about 30 pumps. Plenty of parking. You go inside and this place literally has everything. You can get clothes I purchased a few shirts. They also have a ton for f souvenirs and they are not Over priced . We decided to get dinner they have a lot of different sandwiches. We got barbecue brisket and barbecue turkey. We purchased beef jerky to go. They had about 50 different types. If you've never been to one of these. It's ambiance is a grocery store on Black Friday. They have like 100 gas pumps. And there's so many people it's a little claustrophobic. But the line does move fast. But there's so much stuff in there you feel weird stopping to try and look at everything while fat Texans are zipping around you. Gas was cheap and the coffee was good. The store itself is amazing. and the pricing on everything is really good, which I guess is part of why it is always so crowded. I like to check out truckstops, but Buc-ee's is a truckstop where you could pretty much do all of your Christmas shopping. On a road trip, you need to refuel and make a quick pit stop every three hundred miles or so. It's good to plan this break at a Buc-ee's. There's an unreal number of fuel pumps, with low prices. Not bad for a stop that is right off the highway. Lots of restrooms, too, so you can return to the road fresh as a daisy. They've got everything you would normally get an a convenience store and then some. Drinks, snacks and groceries to keep you going. But there's a lot more. They have a crew making bbq sandwiches all day long and they're delicious. We bought the pulled pork on a bun and the chopped brisket on a bun. If you ask, you get cups of onion and pickles to add to the sandwich. Lots of meat and big enough to share. I want to try their jerky. So many different flavors! There's freshly made fudge, pastry and cookies. Tons of other entrees and desserts. If they don't have something you want, you're just not hungry. We got us a bag of their famous Beaver Nuggets. Corn pops with a candy coating, they're pretty good. I probably won't need to get another bag, but good. We're just getting to the fun stuff. If you're looking for souvenirs or gifts, this is the place. More things to remind you of Texas and Willie Nelson than you can shake a stick at. Plenty of items that any backyard cook, camper, hunter or fishing enthusiast would love. Apparel for every member of the family and toys for the kids. Buc-ee's typically knocks the socks off with customer service and speed. However it seems that this location seems to be a bit off in that for their cashiers. The blonde girl who checked us out, Kendall, as it said in the receipt that we needed to ask for, didn't actually speak to us. At all. She first, helped a guest who simply walked in and walked up rather than taking next in line, not a huge thing but still not typical style for any of the other Buc-ee's we've been to. Second she nodded to us rather than saying "next guest" as the other cashiers at the registers were doing, she proceeded check out the first in our group - still never speaking, she did not offer a bag for the souvenirs purchased, she did not ask if we wanted a receipt. She did not speak in any way. And simply started to ring up the next in our group. My friend asked "do I not get a receipt?" And Kendall walked away from the register and over to grab one, mid check out of the second person in our group, and got it for her, again without a word. She checked us out and again did not offer a bag, barely mumbled the word receipt. And was told no, since we didn't need one for the second purchase, and that was it. Not normally a stickler for those things but I do believe that if you're not going to speak please give the courtesy of a bag and a receipt without being asked. Everyone from Texas knows what Buccee's is, but for those who don't; you really just have to experience it. Buccee's is hard to categorize. Is it a convenience store, is it a gas station, is it a grocery store, because it could almost be all of them. As great at this place is, the only difficult part about Buccee's is getting in & out. In this particular day half of the gas stations were out of order. Either the card ports were not working or the fuel pumps themselves were malfunctioning. This is probably a chance occurrence so it was not not the biggest problem, but made it hard to get gas. Buccee's has so many options for food and snacks, so you will not go empty handed! Traveling on my voyage from California to Texas, it was a necessary itinerary to visit Buc-ee's before my departure back. Now, this was not my first Buc-ee's visit, but this was my first time traveling to the Denton Buc-ee's, so I was searching to see if any of the merchandise was slightly different. To my surprise, as my group and I are off-boarding the 35 North Freeway, I was put at awe of the lovely sunshine hovering over the building. It really sets a good first impression. Also to my surprise, I was not aware there was an entire South side grass field for dog duties. The indoor portion of the Buc-ee's generally presented the same expectations of high traffic but a joyful atmosphere. I had the grandstanding pleasure of witnessing Buc-ee uplifting the crowd and taking photos with the mass. I met Robert, a kind man who helped me find the red T-shirts. I saw Tanner hard at work mopping the floor and cleaning a hazardous mess in the store. In my departure, my check-out was facilitated by Tsiyon who was very professional and lovely. It is my gratitude to share I was esteemed in my visit to Texas and be introduced to a new Buc-ee's I have not visited before, leaving this post-Thanksgiving Day with some new gray sweats, a trucker hat, a Christmas festive warming top, a thermos bottle, and some other accessories. Buc-ee's is more than a gas station...it is an experience. First of all, I have never seen a gas station with as many pumps as they have here. Everything truly is bigger in Texas. The station itself is gigantic. Starting to the right, we decided to peruse the Buc-ee's iconic snacks like their beaver nuggets. I opted for the caramel beaver nuggets and I so wish I had bought more than one bag. They're crispy, cinnamon-y nuggets of deliciousness. We also picked up some hot sauce that we are looking forward to trying. Unfortunately, we had already eaten lunch, so we missed out on their BBQ, tacos, burritos, etc. They do have a giant selection of jerky and you can even pick up dinner if you're looking for a whole stuffed chicken or a pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon. The little shopping area was very Texas, very Southern homeware. I did pick up some cute Buc-ee's souvenirs. My review is for the carwash. Important things to note if you wash your car here: 1) The automated machine didn't appear to have a cash option at all and it's an unattended machine so have your credit or debit card ready. 2) There are only 2 wash options and the cheapest one is not cheap. It's $13 and the deluxe or whatever Buc-ee's calls their upgrade version is $16 which is pretty cheap compared to many carwashes. 3) You are offered a free vacuum option. I selected it. The free vacuum gives you EXACTLY 8 minutes to vacuum your car. I'm not making this up. read more

This was my first time at Buc-ee's and it was all that I wanted it to be because all that I wanted it to be was a bathroom where I could pee. While driving to Dallas from Oklahoma City I picked up a 32oz Diet Coke at a Braum's in Paul's Valley. Well, 2 sips and 2 minutes later and I felt like my bladder was simultaneously pushing on my lungs and my butt. Even though my wife kept saying "we can stop we can stop" I just screamed "BUC-EE'S OR BUST!!!" All that to say, this was a "park, run inside, and thank the Lord for his provision" experience for me. The bathroom was (as expected) world famously clean. The automatic paper towel dispenser on my side of the sink didn't work but when you've come that close to wetting the car the small frustrations of life don't seem to matter. I like that the Bucc-ee Bois that work behind the BBQ counter have to wear little cowboy hats. We got several sweet treats but I skipped a drink because I've still got 90% of a DC waiting for me in the car. read more

This is a good one. So clean and organized. We stopped here for breakfast, drinks and of course snacks for our trip home. Breakfast taco, good Breakfast croissant, good I love that they had a basket to the side of the fresh sandwiches for extra bbq, or mustard, Salsa. The Terrell one did not. I normally am all about Buc-ee's but yesterday the one in Denton was a disappointment! We went in with our 6 yr old twins and told them they could pick 1 food item and 1 snack. They both asked for the Beef Burrito (which had a picture of refrained beans, taco meat and yellow cheese) but when we got back on the road both the tacos were wrong! They were shredded meat with onions and bell peppers, which neither of our children would eat. $15 dollars wasted! I expect better from Buc-ee's!!! read more

We came here because of all the hype this gas station chain has and it was definitely the best gas station I've ever been to. My sister had some snacks from here that weren't like anything I've ever tasted and she said we had to go there to see all the different foods they have. My friend said she tried and loved the homemade rice krispy treats they sell right at check out. If I were on a road trip and passing through Texas, this would absolutely be where I want to stop. The gas prices are very cheap compared to the other gas stations I've seen closer to my sister's house (which is about 25 mins from this location). It's about 40 cents cheaper a gallon. There were at least 25 different pump stations here. The store inside is super clean and organized and the staff was friendly. I didn't know they were known for their clean restrooms, so I definitely had to check that out (I often rate my experience somewhere based on their bathrooms anyway). And this alone is the reason I would want to stop here if I were taking a road trip. The bathrooms were extremely clean. Each individual stall has hand sanitizer and some foaming stuff to clean your toilet seat. My brother said all of the urinals also had their own hand sanitizer. The buc-ee's bold and spicy nug-ees are amazing (this is what we came to buy to take back home). We also bought the habanero cheese nug-ees which definitely have a spice to it. If you're on the fence with spicy things, do not buy these because they might be too spicy for you. But other than that, the flavor is great! My husband bought their beef jerky as well. We all got a cappuccino (the southern pecan flavor is my favorite). They have a ton of creamers, and also fudge and caramel sauce and whipped cream you could add to your drink. We also tried the beaver nuggets (like a sweet corn nugget dessert), which are sold near the check out counters as well. They're kind of sweet, but I don't think they're overly sweet.
