They don't sell a whole lotta cider which is sad, but it's a good shop with a lot of beer, they don't sell 4lokos, or any malt liquor, stuff like that, the gimmicky alcohols. But they got this thing called blueberry pancake beer, I wanna try it. read more

Midway mart has a soft spot in my heart. I first moved to denton about a year ago now, and it was late at night, I didn't know where I was, my phone was dead, and I was basically freaking out since I was in a new town, with no idea in hell of how to get home. Since I was low on gas, this was the only gas station I had recently seen, so I stopped by and went inside. I didn't even have to explain much or prove I was actually lost, and the man at the counter offered to charge my phone for me with a cord in their breakroom, and I was literally TERRIFIED. If youve ever seen this midway mart... it looks SUPER sketch. I didnt want to give this dude my phone, but I passed it along anyways. Wtf else did I have to lose. I pumped my gas, came back inside, phone was still dead so we chatted about random stuff to pass the time while I hung out inside. I told him my address and he literally PRINTED me directions. My phone wasn't charging fast enough anyways so he got it from their back break room area, gave it back, and I was literally on my way. Since this experience, I literally go to this midway mart all the time. This was one of my first "kind southerner" experiences (im from the west coast) and Ive literally been going to this midway mart ever since this experience. Is there definitely cheaper gas other places? Definitely. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Why oh why have the beer gods not informed me of this place sooner? Yes I have several Yelp friends who have graced these doors and I have driven by countless numbers of times not realizing what it was. Heck it's a gas station.... but being Denton, gas stations are not always what they seem. See Rasoi and La Estrella. This place IS the place to purchase beer from all over the country and or world and at really decent prices. I picked up a sixer of Sessions Black Lager from Oregon for only $6.99. Nice. They have a good selection of large bottles too, not as much as Metzler's carries but pretty good. There are also shirts for sale and signage stating that if you want any specialty beers just ask and they will try to get it in for you. Very accomodating. Enjoy. I love midway mart so much. So many good and rare craft beers and a great wine selection too! I always enjoy a pitstop at midway mart.

This is my favorite convenience store in Denton. It has a great beer and wine selection and they always have pretty great deals upfront by the register. I'm not sure about their selection of anything else but if you're looking for a great place that's not a liquor store to get your beer fix it's here. My bro recommended this stop being as we are craft beer drinkers. We weren't disappointed! From the outside, you think it's just a regular station, typical stuff. But if you know craft beers, you would get super excited after browsing their selection! Six packs & bombers galore! The prices were great and of course, they have more than just craft beers (snacks, etc). The guy at the counter was super friendly and chatting beers, seemed to get good traffic in here. $70 of beer later, we headed out with a box full of brews. Wow, how did I not write a review for this place yet! I'm used to Bottleworks in Seattle and this place still amazes me with the selection. Customer service is awesome - I requested the Clutch sour and it was there the next week. Hell, I've even bought gas here. I dearly hope that this place takes a page from a Redmond establishment I've seen and becomes a hybrid carryout-corkage store where there is some inside seating to enjoy the beers in store for a small corkage fee. Sam Adams heaven! Wow! I love Sam Adams of course and its really hard at times to find something other than Boston Lager or seasonal beer here. I went in and was in heaven, seriously, just all the Sam Adams beer I can imagine in all flavors. I love this place. I love this place. When I first moved to Denton, I was shocked to find that there was not a Spec's in sight! To add insult to injury, I found out that Denton County was dry. I'm not a huge fan of liquor, but I thought that this meant that it would be impossible to find a good beer selection without having to make a drive. So for the first couple of weeks, I had to settle with the Kroger selection, which was ooookay, but nowhere near great. The selection was especially lacking on weekends when you want to stay in, put on a good movie, or play a new game, and try out a new six-pack of cold ones. Then, one day, in desperation, I was at a bar and I says to the bartender, I says, "Hey, what does it take to get a decent beer around here?" He recommended Midway. Midway mart is one of the best beer places in the metroplex. They have a great selection with great prices. Shawn/Sean/Shaun is so friendly and he is devoted to making the MM into a great place to buy beer. There are always sales prices that are great. It is just amazing that there are two great places to buy beer in Denton (here and Metzler's). They leg-up MM has on Metzler's is that Shawn knows his business and is often tending the register, so if you have questions he can probably answer them. I went to this gas station tonight to buy wine and beer. The have an extensive selection of different beer. Probably the best selection in Denton. I am a regular customer or I should say was a regular customer until tonight 7/6. The cashier was incredibly rude. When I came to the counter with two bottles of wine he aggressively pointed at me and my friend who was in the store browsing and demanded our ID's. I completely understand needing to see ID's but the way this guy ordered a customer was totally unacceptable. I told him there was a way to properly ask and he threw my credit card at me and told me to get the F**k out of the store!!!! I'm going to the police station tomorrow to press charges for assault. As a business man I understand customer service and how people should be treated as human beings. I was treated like a piece of trash tonight. I sincerely hope management can correct the actions of the cashier tonight. This store has a great selection and is not a traditional big box which I really like and its a shame I cant continue to support this small business. read more

I've been a loyal customer at Midway Mart ever since I moved just a hop, skip and a jump away from this gas station. Everything is a lot cheaper than other gas stations, and the Indian guy who works her knows all of his customers and what they like. He always asks, "How are you dear?" like a caring uncle. And just the other day he recommended this really good Spanish beer called Alhambra. Beer and water are the only things I ever buy here, but if you're looking for porn, a fake Rolex or an obscure pewter lighter, this is the place for you. read more

I love beer. All types of beer. But only if it is high quality beer. You can go anywhere to buy MGD and Bud, but there aren't a lot of places that you can find a wide variety of quality beer. I have been to many establishments around the metroplex trying to find a decent variety of quality beer, and I am so fortunate to find one right in my backyard. It is true what they say, don't choose a book by its cover. Best place to get beer- hands down! Very friendly and knowledgeable staff that can always help with recommendations if they're out of something or (on very rare occasion) don't carry something. Reasonable pricing for beers are that impossible to find elsewhere. It can get a bit crowded in there, but it's not like you go there to hang out anyways. read more

Very friendly customer service at midway mart. The owner really goes out of his way to help you out. They also have the best beer selection I have seen thus far in denton. I would definitely go here again. My only complaints are that it is so small, its kind of hard to move around if there are lots of people inside, parking is not great either. Best beer/convenience store in town. Always has something on sale. Manager is super helpful and friendly. Carries a wide variety of cigarettes and will recommend you a cheaper equivalent to what you normally smoke. Fortuna Lights $3.99 not bad at all. I just moved to Denton from San Diego where there are a ton of breweries and craft beers everywhere. I read about Midway Mart on Yelp and the reviews are right! There are tons of beers here that I have never seen, mainly because they are brewed in TX rather than CA. You can also find Lagunitas, which is my partner's favorite right now. I have only been by once, but this will be my beer store from now on. read more
