Hands down the best place to buy beer in Denton...and as far as I'm concerned, in all of DFW. Many on here have sung the praises of Shawn and I couldn't agree more. Been shopping at MM since I was a grad student 5 years ago and return as often as I can. Their selection is impeccable and there is always a sale on a unique brew...making it affordable to try out something new. I've often spent the better part of an hour looking at the selection My wife once requested a certain type of beer and within a week Shawn had ordered it for her...and he continues to sell it today. I drove by this small convenience store countless times as a kid growing up in Denton. I would never have guessed that it has one of the most interesting selections of beer in Denton. The beer is kept in a mishmash of different refrigerators that wrap along the back end of the store. I spied a number of my favo panninis rites breweries, including Stone, Dogfish Head, and Rogue. Ultimately, I settled on an Explicit Imperial Ale from Scotland, a double IPA from Reaper Ale, and a six pack of Hoppy Boy IPA from Twisted Pine. read more

Since I left Denton and moved to Houston I have searched for a small beer bodega with reasonable prices and great selection, but none compares to Midway Mart! It has the best beer selection and customer service I have ever experienced! Shawn is so nice and will stock pretty much anything you request of him. This place is a little gem, for sure. read more

This place looks like a tiny hole-in-the wall gas station grocery but in fact has the best beer selection in town. Great import and local brews. You can get a Yeti Imperial Stout, regular or oak aged, belgian farm ales - and MANY MANY other selections. They will order anything for you. read more

I have honestly not seen a collection this large anywhere in recent memory. I just kinda wandered around for like twenty minutes. They have every beer i was hoping to find and many many many that i have never heard of. They even have the entire oskar blues line! Im really glad i found this place. read more

This is the absolute best selection of beer available in the metroplex that I've been able to find. In terms of having a good mix of local craft beers as well as a great selection of German beer (which I'm really into), they really have it all. I've heard SO many good things about this place from friends and colleagues to the point where I decided to make sure to stop by on my next trip up to Dallas / Denton. When I rolled up, an employee (which I presume was the owner), was outside smoking as one of their distributors was delivering an order. Without any sort of greeting, I walked past him into the store and began making my way around the beer selection. Everything seem scattered all over the place - tons of bottles were unpriced and knocked over on their side. Overall the store was pretty messy, which is instantly a huge turn off for me. They did have ONE beer that I was looking for, but since I was pretty turned off by the store experience, I decided to pass. Sorry, but there's no excuse to ignore your customers and leave your best selling products a mess. Perhaps I just looked like another college kid on his way to pick up their daily case of PBR so I didn't get the proper treatment. Honestly, Midway Mart just seems like another C-Store trying to stay-a-float by raking in money from the craft beer boom, but I guess Denton doesn't have a whole lot of options. read more

This is my first review and I have to say that this is THE BEST place to get beer for a beer connoisseur. I've been to a lot of beer/liqour stores in Texas since I moved here and this one is my favorite. It has a lot of hard to find for a reasonable price. If you're looking to buy beers like Guinness or hard lemonade I would stick to Wally world, but if you're a serious strictly in the glass beer drinker you can find the ultimate beer selection here. They have beer here that I can't find anywhere else. I've moved out of Denton, but I ALWAYS stop by here whenever I'm in town. read more

used to go here from time to time, thier selection is better than most places around for specialty sodas & alcohol beverages. would frequent here if i'd previously experienced integrity with a bulk order after being a very long time customer & recommending them to so many people. tried a bulk deal, was told $30 by the main guy, then when i pick it up & pay its $7 more than quoted before tax is even added from a different emloyee. ended up paying $40:something & almost didnt even buy it just on sheer principle. i dont appreciate shady price changes. the entire reason i ordered bulk is to get an affordable deal & be able to justify having it regularly. doing it this way i could go once every few months, otherwise because of the price buying single drinks i wasnt going here more frequently than once every six-ten months+ so i basically stopped going ever period after this, i dont care if it was just the one shady employee overcharging this experience left a very bad taste for their business. read more
